This is a great amp with plenty of worthwhile demos, but few ever go into this level of detail, which is always appreciated. Nicely demonstrated. \m/
On the technical side, the relatively clear built-in boost is an essential and I’d agree that it’s also very well-suited to the tight attack that goes with the notable low end on the amp, a somewhat known feature and virtue of Mike Fortin’s design approach, and the amp does pair well with Fortin-style boosts. Hell, pairing this amp with a Fortin grind and a five band EQ gets it the versatility of the Randall Satan and beyond.
That all said, this amp is one hell of a steal, especially if it can be had for a good price on the used market. Aaron over at the Guitar From The Tomb channel put it best: the Diavlo is an excellent bargain for anyone looking into getting that dark, metallic and clanky articulate Fortin sound.

Hey thanks! If I had gone into all the details I could have the video would have been an hour long. 😆
100% agree re: the boost, it's probably my favorite feature on the amp.

@@seventhlevelsound Definitely. There’s a lot to say and do with this amp, and while there are many great demos for the Diavlo series as a whole, I think you’ve got the most extensive one for the RD100H. Made for great viewing. Cheers.

I JUST got mine today and also noticed the devil skull was not on there compared to what I saw on others. I thought it may have been missing, yet it looks like we got the newer models as you mentioned!

Ya I've actually been searching for an equally satanic sticker to fit in that space. Not that it affects the tone, but y'know, for the Metal.

And why did they take the devil head off it that's it's unique marking

Basically what I'm asking is will this thing chug without having to use a pedal to make it sound good because in my opinion I thi k a high dollar amp shoupd be metal and chug worthy without buying extra stuff js

How's that amp holding up? I had one before U.S. Music Corp. was sold to a Canadian company. I loved it but the pots were giving me a lot of problems. I had 3 other Randalls with the same problem. Sold them all. I loved the tone I got out of it. I want another one but not if they are still using the worse pots in the world.

I haven't had any issues so far, but now I'll definitely be keeping an eye on it!

So does this thing have a good metal tone without having to have a pedal to make it sound good ?

    • @seventhlevelsound
      @seventhlevelsound  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I guess not? 🤷
If you watched the demo most of the tones are only using the built in boost, and I specifically mentioned when I added other pedals in front.

@seventhlevelsound yeah I did here you say that but I have heard others say it then turned out they was using a pedal the entire time but I also noticed on channel 3 that it had some unsettling hmmmm in I wonder if a good noise gate to take that hmmmm out

@@Captaintripps1 that's actually one of the things I really like about this amp, the boost on it is good enough that you don't need any additional pedals to add gain. I think it chugs very nicely but your opinion may differ.
I didn't throw my decimator in front which likely would have taken care of the hum because I wanted to see/show how noisy the channels get when you crank the gain up. It's pretty common to get hum like that with high gain channels, noise gates are essential tools for that.

@seventhlevelsound right on thank you for the honest response I will be getting a new rd100h then I was worried it wouldn't have the gain I needed for chug action bit sounds like I wipl be very happy with it
