I have a 1978 D penny that I took to a coin show today. United States is printed under Lincoln and more of the reverse is printed over the obverse. On the reverse, United States is missing.....the coin dealer told me it was worthless and that someone took another penny and put it over my penny and hit it with a hammer and got that print on it LOL Needless to say, I left knowing these people clearly didnt know errors. I had another with the front being fine and the back u could only see a little bit of the memorial....I was told someone scraped off the backing and it wasnt an error! Again, LOL People be careful of coin shows that dont know their stuff
@@michaelandrews8944 IKR? Instead I was told it wasnt a mint error and was worthless LOL The one like my 1978 just sold a month ago from Heritage auction for ALOT of money
Its plausible to buy some S mint proof sets and maybe get lucky ! Theres really nothing to lose and you will have alot of nice proof sets ! For the price of that 75 dime i would also want the original proofs that came in that set also tho !
Every proof set was purchased by a collector. They have gone in and out of collections and through dealers hands for 50 years. The proof 75 no s is in every book. The only chance is that an original owner stuck one in a drawer, died and now their kids are selling it at a garage sale.

So the US mint was by mail order back then! What are my chances, like you said, look at old collections I remembered my local coin shop selling old proof mint set's they recently closed. My parents did had old proof sets from back then. My dad was in the military we got rid of them when moved a long time ago. We also had an old vw red volkswagon van bus got rid of it when we moved, thanks for the information I will be looking 😊
Last night, I came across a (S) Bicentennial, while searching rolls of quarters, that has a very noticeable die clash error of Washington on it's reverse. I wonder how many of those sets may have been opened, over the years, and put into circulation! Anyway, Thanks for the info about this dime, Shaun!👍 Have a good one!✌️
They shouldn't be made [mint sets] that you should not be able to open..that way you can't by 10 sets an make the the best mint sets out of ten ....member Sean that lady that bought 5 or 6 ..75 mint sets an noticed that 3 didn't have a mint mark and she sold a couple off for like 15grand....wonder what happened to the few she kept ??
Now why would a 1966 SILVER DIME a totally UNIQUE DIME only bring $13,200 at last months Stack's Bowers Rarity Sale and these 1975S,NO MINTMARK dimes of which, at least 4 are know, 2 of which I saw sell to Fred Vollmer back in the 70's from Bob Anderson of RCA rare coins! Bob had one separate and another he had in an original proof set. My Biggest MISTAKE was NOT BUYING THOSE COINS AT $5000.00 EACH!!! BTW, Bob Anderson also owned a xf 1943 copper cent that he regularly displayed at local coins shows here in NY

如果不是精制幣的1975無鑄廠碼有價值嗎?
No! It only means that it was minted in Philadelphia. The proofs were all made in San Francisco, and should have the S mint mark.
Good Morning Shaun!!........^_^
