Sheldon's a kid who snaps even the slightest of change. We're talking about the biggest change of his life. Sitting down like that is his version of breaking down.
At least he wasn't breaking bad, a tantrum would do him no good in that situation..
The day my dad died I could not cry I was just sitting there watching his corpse in that bed. Everyone was hugging eightother and cryong but knowone hugged me they just let me sit there. I feit alone but I could not show any emotions for some reason. Then few days days later a aunt gave me a hug before she went home. And thats when I broke. Emotions are strange they work for everyone different

@@korstiaanakse1 This happened to me too when my paternal grandma, who raised me, died earlier this year. I felt her hand go cold and loose and then stiffen. I didn't cry until we came out from the crematorium and my maternal grandma just held me in her arms. I think for me, it was feeling like I had some sort of duty as the eldest grandchild to put on a brave face and take care of everyone else just like she always did... Grief has to be one of the most complex feelings I've ever dealt with. But, as the saying goes, what is grief if not love continuing? :')
The daughter will regret her entire life not taking that ride with dad to school.

I hate that. Because I can remember a time where my youngest sister asked my mother for a car ride and she couldn’t do it. My sister died later that morning. It still hurts that I heard her in my sleep and that was the final thing that I heard her ask

No boy cries when their father figure dies , you are in shock , not in 30 yrs have a seen another kid cry except the daughters n wife's n the boys end up going crazy mostly for years after years of seeming totally fine

I’ve witnessed plenty boys and men cry about their father’s death. Its normal. A huge loss like that especially when it’s so abrupt is horrible. ):
One is never prepared enough for the loss of a parent. Although some do stay in shock and bottle it up for years till they can’t.

I don’t think she was angry. She felt panicked at seeing their grief and sadness on their faces, wanting them to say otherwise

As someone who lost a parent at around sheldons age.. this scene.. oh my god. It was so perfect. When the noise starts fading and you can hardly hear the cries of his family anymore... that got me. Because thats exactly what its like. Its like the whole world fades around you and all you have left is shock and unbearable pain. Its genuinly one of the worst feelings in the world

She really acted well, it was like a feeling of disbelief and sadness
That blank stare Mary gave then immediately switch to a sobbing face is reality hitting her. All the arguments and disagreements they’ve had while together instantly feel like a waste of time that could’ve been spent loving each other.
This made me tear up because I knew George was the best father in the show. When I saw Sheldon sit down in shock I also teared too.

You know…Sheldon probably likely shut down entirely emotionally after this. Didn’t keep in contact with his siblings, really only his mom. Left immediately to for CalTech without friends or family and definitely with no way to cope with what happened. Based on Big bang theory he was completely shut off from everything emotionally after this….until Leonard showed up at the door in 2003. Leonard was the one that pulled him out of it and started to give him a semblance of a normal life.
yeah. bits of that was shown in the show. when one of his professors tried to comfort and talk to him, sheldon just walked past him and tried to ignore him.

Just a reminder to everyone, that’s how fast it can happen one moment someone’s in your life and then suddenly they’re gone forever , love everyone around you with all your heart like the old Aerosmith song goes. Maybe tomorrow the good Lord come take them away.
I would like to say, November 27th, 2017. I graduated highschool that year, and on that day people from my uncles house that were his kids came over, and broke it to us that he had passed away in his shower in his mid forties from a heart attack, I remember freezing, and then asking if this was some sick joke

The way Mary’s actor portrays the information being processed is amazing, the way she stares of into the distance then changes emotion to sadness is absolutely incredible, even though it’s not hard to do, she could have easily just acted shocked, this little detail really adds to the scene. 10/10 acting.

Earlier in the show when sheldon was younger he also said that he wish that he told his dad how much he loves him before it was too late and i think he was basically hinting that he was gonna die later in the show also i feel bad for Sheldon because he didn't seem to show emotion when he heard george died but you could see in his eyes he was processing what he had just heard and was truly heartbroken

Same. I thought George would last through the finale and at the end, time jump to where he was gone. I never suspected otherwise, and yet when he walked out the door saying “See you later”, I suddenly had a bad feeling, only confirmed by Mary saying we’re just waiting on George.
if he didn’t die, young sheldon wouldn’t make sense. The show young sheldon is based on is called The Big Bang Theory, and in The Big Bang Theory it’s revealed the main character’s dad is dead
@@22void. I’m aware of that. I just thought maybe the show ended prior to George dying and it would happen offscreen. More so, I hoped, because he’s my favorite and watching it happen was super sad.

People are asking why memaw is "smiling", and I want to say that she isnt necessarily smiling. When some people are about to cry, their mouth will stretch out and sometimes curl a bit upward, most likely because they are trying to hold it all in. I do that too, because I am not a quiet cryer, so I try to keep my crying quieter. But maybe I'm just weird 😅
The memaw face is a face i see on a friend in a similar situation, is a face of someone who can't process the notice, thinking for himself "No, no, this must be a bad joke"
I also smile or laugh in bad or serious situations… I can’t help it and it’s awful since people don’t understand that. It’s just a natural reaction.
I do the same too. Except for me I get so embarrassed by people seeing me cry :( so I try really hard to hold it back

I watched those characters (mostly Sheldon obv) since I was a kid when TBBT got aired. Even though it’s just a show, it breaks my heart to see characters I watched since years be in such pain. Hits even harder when you rewatch TBBT and watch all the times they talked about George.
