Growing up in South Philly with a Family of 4 older Brothers… and 1 younger… All Musically Inclined! This record was Played over and Over! Rest In Peace… Jerry Blavat~ I know there is a Dance Party in Heaven❣️. Thanks For the ‘Memories’ 🍀😇🍀
High school and being so confused by young love and Geator helped with his words of wisdom on the Lovers Album and on his radio show.Thank you Jerry Blavat I and so many others love you.
As a 12-13 yr old in south jersey, I was glued to the radio when Jerry had his show and call the dedication line to hear him mention my girlfriend Robins name. Some of these songs i havent heard in 58 years. Thankyou for posting this album.
Those of us who grew up in the vicinity of Jerry Blavat's inimitable musical tastes were treated to some of the best music of the times. Rather obscure--and EXCELLENT R&B singers were part of his repertoire that he presented to us. I feel the lucker for it! Bertha Tillman (Oh my Angel) and Theola Kilgore (This is my prayer) are two such artists and their songs--introduced to them on Lost Night Albums (1965), and treasure them to this day. Can't thank you enough, Geator! You will always live in my heart--and thousands of others who were lucky enough to be born in mid-century Philly/NJ area.
Thanks for posting this. It brings back so many beautiful memories of my teen years. I can visualize Judy and I learning about each other and enjoying "The Geator with the Heater" both on the radio and going to his dances in the Philly are and down the shore. In Lancaster, PA our times were like a roller coaster but our young lives didn't survive the turbulence of the mid sixties and I haven't seen her for more than 50 years. We played this album until the grooves were more like plowed up sod. This is the first time I've found it on you tube. Man...what a time to grow up with this and the soul music of the era. What are the memories of this generation going to be like?
All The generations should have a grown-up listening to the gator with the heater and especially the 11th hour I’m going to miss this so much I am so happy that I have all his CDs my friends have the 45s he will be with us in our hearts forever and ever
Just found out from my friend Ron Mint @mintrecords4ever), that the lead singer of "I ran to you" (lena calhoun) is the great 'Lena Horne' in her younger years...how bout it...
I’m 74 and I have this lp, never gets old…
R.I.P. GEATER 😢
