An oscilloscope is a device used to visualize electrical signals. It shows how the voltage of an electrical signal changes over time. Imagine it like a graph on a screen, where the horizontal axis represents time, and the vertical axis represents voltage. Engineers and technicians use oscilloscopes to analyze waveforms, check signal quality, and diagnose problems in electronic circuits.
A virtual oscilloscope is a software-based version of a physical oscilloscope. Instead of using a physical device, you use software on a computer or mobile device to simulate the functions of an oscilloscope. It processes signals from a source (like a sensor or circuit) connected to the computer and displays the waveforms on the screen. Virtual oscilloscopes are often cheaper and more convenient for basic testing and learning purposes.
