Great memories. I think this game saw the unveiling of the "executive boxes" (I was in front of them in the old Enclosure with my Dad) which sadly haven't changed much, along with the Main Stand, in the succeeding 37 years. Happy days nonetheless.
Yeah he was clearly onside, making his late run from behind the line of defence. And also the keeper moved no less for the 2nd penalty, yet the ref allowed the save. The truth is that they always move, but occasionally, for no particularly reason, the ref decides to create a bit of controversy and have it retaken.

Start of a fantastic era! Who'd have thought!!?? Thanks for this.
Played on my 20th birthday !
Biley only scored another 2 goals in a further 18 appearances after this game. It just never worked out for him
He was a smash hit at Pompey though
Tasty outside before and after…. Ace
RIP Howard Kendall
It always amuses me with these old vids to see keepers not wearing gloves.
When men were men!
shankley and catterick chatting like old mates at 10:10 mark
Shanks was a blue! He was meant to have followed Catterick as manager but it never materialised
@@mrlister2000 Sadly, a few weeks before his death.
My first game at goodison. I sat in the parked stand.
Great stuff. See nothing has changed much - Ainscow was hardly offside at all (just before the 4th minute of the video).
