    In future, when doing In Call Audio reviews, please compare to a similarly priced device, or industry standard, because comparing a random set of earbuds immediately after hearing production level audio for a whole video makes it very difficult to understand how good the audio is. Phone call audio is bad already, but without a reference point it's impossible to tell where it falls. Great video!

    Thanks for the mic test. It’s still quite jarring compared to your studio mics. Any chance there could be comparisons to the AirPods Pro and possibly galaxy buds?
    Also how does latency work these days with this generation of earbuds? I used to buy cheap true wireless earbuds for my iPhone and was disappointed to see that the audio was out of sync with the video.
    I recently got AirPods Pro as a gift and have been genuinely happy. That said I am always curious to see if there are wireless earbuds I could recommend for those on a budget who are on the Apple ecosystem.

    • @joostvisser8537
      @joostvisser8537 2 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      In all fairness to these earphones, basically all budget mics are jarring compared to studio mics. Especially these little small ones you'll find in earbuds. But yeah I agree I was also kind of expecting the quality to be higher. It did do a decent job cutting out the chain from the garage door though.

    • @fabiankehrer3645
      @fabiankehrer3645 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      As far as i know the the work that is done to achieve lower latency and low power bluetooth connections limits the quality of the microphone recordings.
      I read somewhere that even if you have a studio microphone connectet over bluetooth 5.0 that the quality would suck compared to a dedicated radio connection or a wired one.

    • @burukani
      @burukani 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For latency you need to check bluetooth version, all earbuds with Bluetooth 5.0+ already good for watching video.

    I’m guessing Linus will continue to do earbud videos until he finds the perfect ones to replace his AirPod Pros. Really interested in the voice enhancement mode. I have a very hard time hearing and processing speech in noisy environments, like restaurants or bars. To the point that even if other people can converse with each other, I can’t hear or understand a thing anyone is actually saying. Other people seem to have no problem, so the problem must be me. So a mode that elevates voices would be very appealing to me. Would have been interesting to see both modes tested in a noisy environment with lots of background noise and multiple conversations happening.

      @@geryno_ I don't have an answer, only theories. I've had my hearing tested and it's just within normal, with the highest frequencies just below the normal range. Personally I think it's basically related to difficulty in processing, attention, and focus. The issue I have isn't that I can't actually hear the people talking around me, it's that it feels like I'm listening to EVERYONE talking and thus I can't discriminate the conversation I'm trying to pay attention too. It's like having five different people talking to you at once; you can't listen to any of them.

    You can get bluetooth adapters for true wireless for the Sennheiser IE 600. Fiio makes the UTWS5, but other companies like TRN and KZ also make bluetooth adapters for IEMs. Although only Fiio and TRN have MMCX connectors as an options. Still no ANC or transparency options yet, unfortunately, but you can enjoy IEMs wirelessly.

    • @SiopaoSauc3
      @SiopaoSauc3 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do these adapters charge with a small case or wirelessly yet? Or do you still have to plug a cable into each adapter? I used the first generation of them, and the switch to TWS was a major leap in convenience.

    • @StevenConning
      @StevenConning 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SiopaoSauc3 Like most TWS, they sit in a case and they snap in with magnets on pins to charge. You charge the case with USB-C and the ear hooks charge from the case. No wires to the earpieces or between them. But the cases tend to be a bit bulky. The KZ AZ09/10 case is the smallest and a hard shell, so it’s pocket-able, but I wouldn’t keep it in my pocket all day like I do with AirPods. I use the KZ AZ09 Pro and the TRN BT30 daily. If you have IEMs with different connectors, the TRN solution is the best IMO, but not a big fan of the case. I don’t have the Fiio, but they’re releasing updates to the hardware including adding ambient sound and LHDC codec support. They’re far and away the best, if you only have MMCX IEMs.

    This was really cool. I have had a pair of 1more's triple driver wired earbuds for over a year now and thus far they are the best sounding earbud I have ever had. I love them. Now, listen you audiophiles who took the time to read this comment. NO! I have never spent more than $200 on a pair of headphones/earbuds so I know I am lacking on experience in the audio world. But, I also don't see a manageable way I could listen to all the music and artists I do with high enough fidelity audio files that warrant something like those $600 Ie 600s.
    Has Ltt done a review of those triple driver 1mores? I'd be curious to see where they fall in their opinion since Linus has listened to $50k headphones and $hit.

      I don't have the triple driver, although i do have the quad driver. These are very simular to the EVO. They are good quality for the pricepoint.
      I also own a pair of Senheisser HD660s, these do sound better, specially in sound stage and the high to meds. However, the 1More dont sound terrible in comparison.
      Personally I think if the 1More is all you have, you dont miss out on that much, unless listening to music is your biggest hobby. But it will get a little bitter, just in smaller steps the more money you spend.

There's a gent by the name of Oluv who makes all sorts of calibrations to write to the buds, the "neutral" profile uses measurements from each to target the HD600. They're sub 50USD and really ergonomically pleasing, with a good case with type C and also Qi. The Free Pro 2s are also nice, but I like the 1's aesthetic better.

    I'm pro cable all the way but would like to buy some buds. However we live in times where keyboards nowadays offer PCBs with storage so you can permanently remap keys, yet there are no buds that give you a full feature spectrum without an App. I carry that case anyway, so... why not include some buttons to change modes? The app is also very inconvenient when you use Gone Mad Music Player classic on android enforcing Equalizer and software DSP to work with all other audio hardware via headphone-jack. Like other hardware that is software supported for a rather limited time (end of company / product / product line...) this has a very Internet-of-siht vibe. The microphone in call also sounds like people would complain as much as if I kept using the included earphones.
