I am from Bologna but live abroad, it is amaizing because if it rains you don't need umbrella due to porticos

It is just as walkable as florence but I think it was much smaller (or at least felt like it). Florence felt huge!

actually Bologna and Florence are similar in size, although Bologna municipality has slightly more inhabitants (390k vs. 370k)
