What you have to realise is that the only way to test a battery is to discharge it with a load, say a car bulb, and see how long it lasts. 12 .5 volts or more from a battery means nothing open circuit. I have automatic discharge testers and Midtronics conductance testers and an ACT tester. You can't "bring back the dead" to be like new. You might get say, a 4 AH battery to read 12.8 volts by adding distilled water and get say 1 AH usable capacity back which might be of some use for a hobby to power LED's or whatever, but that's about it. These batteries are STARVED ELECTROLYTE so not meant to have acid electrolyte floating above the plates. The recombine inside. So , OK for a hobbyist type thing and you might get some life, but you'll never bring one back like new. I've tried it on dozens, probably 30 or more over the years, with results from useless to just a little bit of useful life. That's it. Epsom salts added to non sealed types damages good batteries and might give a little extra time to old automotive batteries, but it is no magic long term fix either. Slow charge at low current for days can desulfate a bit as can up to 16 v for a few hours on non- AGM wet batteries.(Equalization charge). Nothing to lose on a knackered battery if you want to "play around" but be safety aware as they can explode or spew acid.

It only increases voltage of a battery but not Ah rating… so when you connect a load the thing doesn’t work and battery will drop its voltage too. I have tried on so many batteries…putting Epsom salf washing with baking soda first then put Epsom salf distilled water etcetera… but this method will work only on few batteries. And if it does work….it will last 4-5 months only… and using this battery may damaged your vehicle’s starter motor… so better to go with new battery. Sorry for my bad English

Buy a Multimeter $ cheap Handy i use weekly The Mobile charger 6vlt jack inside is P (+) outer neg is N (-) turn battery upside down & shake charge 5-6 hrs
Note: charging He used a Red Wire on Neg & a white wire on Positive battery :)
the color wires wont hurt but always a good practice to Use RED as Positive (+) This is misleading and Newbies will damage there chargers if done wrong way .

I did it before watching this video 😂 but I assumed that as the acid got dried, it would need more energy to revert the internal reaction, so I gave it 9V / 1.5 Amp for 12 hours (also because my battery was totally dry and had 0V). I didn't seal it and the 3 plugs soared up 😂😂 the celds eliminated the excess water and I let it to do so (now with acid) and the battery sounded boiling while charging (all good signals for me because I new the reaction were getting forcefully reversed). After those 12 hours I sealed it and gave it 6 more hours charging. After all that, the battery were like new. But if it weren't worked I had a second option, to use an electrolite for batteries instead destilated water (in my country its called "battery solution" in spanish as it's a solution made with sulfuric acid and destilated water
