It's part Half-Life part Eve Online machinima, made almost a decade ago before tools like Source Filmmaker. The third movie was actually shown in a cinema at one time.
I love that series too, but the first 2 are very outdated in terms of resolution and acting, and he has most likely never played the MMO so I doubt he would have any idea about what is going on.

(th-cam.com/video/46kjnp8O1aw/w-d-xo.html) It's still impressive to animate, though. (btw, Team Fabulous 2 was reanimated by the community to honor Kitty0706. Give that a watch, it has a lot of different animation styles every few scenes.)
