This song is beautiful, really. But when 2:15 starts I feel weird. It's like the song awoke some kind of agony in my chest, and I feel like I'm about to disapear. It's like someone gave a soundtrack to my depression crisis.
Unbelievable, how far music can take you from this typical world, everyday society, routine and government machine, and give you this feeling, feeling of peace. One of my favourite song from gorilllaz
I initially resisted listening to the entirety of this song for a good 2 years. Was pretty shocked to realize I missed out on 2:15 onwards all that time.
It's weird listening to this, because when it first came out I never used to be into the Gorillaz and I remember listening to it. But now as I'm quite a big fan of them, they feel quite old, but a small part of my childhood.
This song will never stop delivering the most of love and soul that went into developing these characters. It reflects on the whole journey in such a bittersweet way. Even when Gorillaz eventually dies out, Empire Ants will live on forever along with other masterpieces under the band's hood. Truly mindblowing.
This Music video feels like a farewell to Plastik Beach album. Its like they sat together on the end of working, and just compiled every concept and scene and sketch to each song and put it here, its so nostalgic..
Im listening to this album now and its resurfacing songs that I didn't know i knew, all the times my dad put this on in the car and me falling asleep to it when I was younger. It's so perfect.
this just gives me a vibe of waiting for something or just calming. this is one of my favorite Gorillaz songs and for a reason. this song is really calming. it feels like I can sleep to it.
This song on quarantine hits brutally. Today it was raining while I was in a virtual class I started to hear this song... And cried for the first time in a long time...
The first time I ever listened to this song I had just started reading 'One Hundred Years of Solitude' by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, and I must have played this song on repeat at least 20 times. So now every time I hear this song I picture a hot and humid summers afternoon, resting upon a chair on a patio in some villa in Macondo, the sun streaming through the trees and fresh fruit piled up high on a kitchen bench and rotting on the streets. Interesting how music can do that, even though this song and the book have little tangible thematic similarities lol.
"Empires will fall" It always hurts to hear. I never thought the "empire " i had would ever disappear, i was too in-the-moment to care. And when it did fall it was slow at first then it left in a chaotic boom. Gone when i needed it the most. I thought it would stay forever, never realizing i was growing older and out of it each day, but even when i saw the signs i convinced myself everything was fine. I thought i was immune to change, but time made me say "I've had enough, thank you" to the only comfort i had, and i want to ask God why. Basically every moment you experience is lost to history. Gone, only a memory, no going back. Remember this while you are at your highs, and maybe lows as well. Nothing is forever. I'm gonna go and reminisce on my own in the corner now.
@Sandro i lost. It wasn't one particular thing but a mix. My mindset, the ppl i knew, the things i was doing all completely changed. Like living was just different. Back then i had a net or an escape for anytime i felt down, but now it's all gone and it feels like hell. Best metaphor i can give would be like strolling through the remains of a long gone civilisation. Going through the metaphorical 'streets' knowing how alive and exciting the place used to be. Like a truly great place that once was. But now it's just ruins and i'm trying to rebuild and reach that level of greatness again but i'm frustrated i'm cos i'm not getting anywhere and a lot of other things are starting to eat at my soul as well now
Oh joy's arise The sun has come again to hold you Sailing out the doldrums of the whole week The polyphonic prairies here, it's all around you It's all around you, out here And if the whole world is crashing down Fall through space out of mind again Where the emptiness we leave behind on warm air rising Blows all the shadows far away The falling alcohol empire, is here to hold you Rolling out and haunted 'til it sleeps Little memories, marching on Your little feet, working the machine Will it spin, will it soar My little dream, working the machine Soon like a wave that pass will fall And closing in on you they're going on Little memories Your little feet, working the machine Will it spin, will it soar My little dream, working the machine Soon like a wave that pass will fall And closing in on you they're going on shotouts from Argentina..
Today I realise this is my favorite song ever. I always love this song with my soul, but I thought that one day it was going to lose it's magic. Today I listened after a long time without listen and it feels the same way as always. I feel it's intensity all over my body, everytime my eyes fills with humble tears, is kind of painful and holy at the same time, and that moment when the first part ends and the second one comes in a crescendo, fuck, I have to stop anything that I am doing to live that moment with all my senses. Thank you, Gorillaz and Little Dragon, for this heavenly therapy.
Took a lonesome late night walk in the middle of my city the other night when suddenly this song played via my headphones. Walking through empty streets in the middle of the night with this song, especially the second part, is a feeling i just can't describe.
Well... No It's not animation is just a bunch of art and filters, but if you really want to know the history this video is telling, i'd say is about the final days of plastic beach, after this they get attack by pirates and phase 4 beggins!
Crescendo Yeah, but when it gets to the second part you will wake up instantly ._. It's like when you fall asleep listening to Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon and then the song Time comes on and you shit yourself and have a heart attack at the same time. Trust me, I know.
Little Dragon is pure auditory sex, glad they have another fan on board. I recommend, underbart, it's my favorite little dragon song & video. Check out" klap klap" too
Today my dog passed away, after being 13 years by my side, and I chose this song to remind me of him, I know that he's playing with my grandfather up there, cheers for that
Going to a Sussex University open day when the sun was shining, listening to this, having spent my entire life in the city. It helped me realise, there was a big beautiful world out there, one which I was only on the verge of discovering

+Iona Surtees well i got you but you just sounded pretentious, not crazy.
99superjesus huh? Well everyone is entitled to an opinion. I didn't mean to sound pretentious.
*Hands down, one of Gorillaz' best songs ever, simply beautiful...*
Depressing and Calming at the same time, my fucking kind of music
ikr you feel me.
depressing wtf
This is depressing
wow didnt know about that
this song is so relaxing
I didnt believe when people say that music made them travel to another world...

hi ! here a new track from Argentina, some kind of electropop th-cam.com/video/gKk8z1u-IhI/w-d-xo.html
0:38 [Verse 1: 2-D]
Oh, joys are us, the sun has come again to hold you
Sailing out the doldrums of the week
The polyphonic prayer is here, it's all around you
It's all around you, out here
1:17 [Bridge: 2-D]
And if the whole world is crashing down (on you)
Fall through space out of mind with me
1:36 [Verse 2: 2-D]
Where the emptiness we leave behind on warm air rising
Blows all the shadows far away
The falling of the whole empire, is here to hold you
Rolling out and haunted till it sleeps
2:45 [Hook: Yukimi Nagano]
Little memories, marching on
Your little feet, working the machine
Say will it spin, will it soar?
My little dream, working the machine
Soon, like a wave, empires will fall
And closing in on you, they're going on
Little memories
Your little feet, working the machine
Say will it spin, will it soar?
My little dream, working the machine
Soon like a wave, empires will fall
Closing in on you, they're going on
(Lyrics by Genius)
2:24 that drop is awsome

!Zombeee Yeah but his name is still Jamie Hewlett
This song is beautiful, really. But when 2:15 starts I feel weird. It's like the song awoke some kind of agony in my chest, and I feel like I'm about to disapear. It's like someone gave a soundtrack to my depression crisis.
exactly same feeling at the same time
ok
you good?
@@guhh8792 Not really, no
@@gabrielkrahe You're not alone, man
My mom used to always listen to this, and I didn’t have a clue that it was made by Gorillaz and I’m obsessed with this song now
The way "arise" sounds like "are us" is honestly so pretty
Little dragon's part it's like mermaids singing to you if you're high
100% agreed
Heck, I think so eventhough I'm not high
You know this from experience?
Yeah, I know this from experience

Unbelievable, how far music can take you from this typical world, everyday society, routine and government machine, and give you this feeling, feeling of peace. One of my favourite song from gorilllaz
I tried to sleep with this song, head full of dreams.
I initially resisted listening to the entirety of this song for a good 2 years. Was pretty shocked to realize I missed out on 2:15 onwards all that time.
Feels like that with other gorillaz songs actually, like demon days felt meh for me until I heard the second part which is much more funkier
Why did you resist?
i always do that with songs ahahhaa
yeah, that is the best part

This song makes me feel like I'm floating through dimensions in space. So glad I got to hear this in my lifetime.
It's weird listening to this, because when it first came out I never used to be into the Gorillaz and I remember listening to it. But now as I'm quite a big fan of them, they feel quite old, but a small part of my childhood.
Man and I thought this song sucked, then I decided to listen to it again AND ITS AMAZING WHAT WAS PAST ME THINKING
IKR??
same with me, idk why
Things change
This song will never stop delivering the most of love and soul that went into developing these characters. It reflects on the whole journey in such a bittersweet way. Even when Gorillaz eventually dies out, Empire Ants will live on forever along with other masterpieces under the band's hood.
Truly mindblowing.
I feel sorry for the people who’s never had heard this in their life.
me too
Amen
i rlly feel sorry for them:(

This Music video feels like a farewell to Plastik Beach album. Its like they sat together on the end of working, and just compiled every concept and scene and sketch to each song and put it here, its so nostalgic..
This song will be in my heart forever... I promise
Without doubt, one of the best Plastic Beach songs.
Totally agree
I've overlooked this gem for years. Previously Stylo was my favorite from this album. But Im glad I found this now, such a good song.
Im listening to this album now and its resurfacing songs that I didn't know i knew, all the times my dad put this on in the car and me falling asleep to it when I was younger. It's so perfect.
After 10 years im still listening to this
same dude
Just to think theres someone out there listening to this, trapped in their own bubble, their own spaces and floating in their own ocean.
In a way I am that person.
this just gives me a vibe of waiting for something or just calming. this is one of my favorite Gorillaz songs and for a reason. this song is really calming. it feels like I can sleep to it.
This genuinely is good music.
You're saying that like its some kind of surprise?
Nicholas Chinn Considering the amount of people who consider bad music as good, then, yes, because you don't find music like this every day.
But are you surprised to find that Gorillaz have good music?
Nicholas Chinn Not really. They always had good music.

This is the best Gorillaz song ever.
+its Nacho i feel the same hope the new album has more great little moments like this one
I wish there were way more Gorillaz songs like this , Damons voice works perfectly with this type of melody .

+Ol' Dirty Nacho Nah, heard better. You seem familiar to me....have i seen you in a certain discord server?
Probably Brawlhalla or something.
I need to go back to that book, I couldn't get through it first go
"Empires will fall"
It always hurts to hear.
But now it's just ruins and i'm trying to rebuild and reach that level of greatness again but i'm frustrated i'm cos i'm not getting anywhere and a lot of other things are starting to eat at my soul as well now
No matter how old a Gorillaz song is, it's still a masterpiece
This song melt my heart. Is so special, like a melancholic, tender dream.

I'm so in love with her voice
If you love her voice you should listen to little dragon-fortune, its a beautiful, peaceful song
Took a lonesome late night walk in the middle of my city the other night when suddenly this song played via my headphones.
Walking through empty streets in the middle of the night with this song, especially the second part, is a feeling i just can't describe.
This is legit one of the best songs i've heard in a long time.
when it's rain here,I listen to this masterpiece.

This song is mysterious and has an off world atmosphere, I get lost in the visuals my brain relates to the lyrics. A real hidden gem.
cherylw1958 I can't play it. It comes up "video unavailable". I think it is unavailable in this country. Patty
There is a live version I have commented on - David Letterman - it is almost as good as the studio version..
the beat to this song is arguably the best they've ever done :) ridiculously good song
Both Animation and music tells such a deep story.
Well... No
It's not animation is just a bunch of art and filters, but if you really want to know the history this video is telling, i'd say is about the final days of plastic beach, after this they get attack by pirates and phase 4 beggins!
@@em_y1229 I can see it as an animation .. I also think its much more personal to them than the final days of plastic beach.
this song just makes me so calm
like seriously who tf needs sleeping pills when youve got this

Mind if i join you guys?
Crescendo Yeah, but when it gets to the second part you will wake up instantly ._. It's like when you fall asleep listening to Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon and then the song Time comes on and you shit yourself and have a heart attack at the same time.
Trust me, I know.

This song introduced me to Little Dragon and I'm so glad of that. I fucking love Little Dragon.
And gorrilaz? :P
I already knew about Gorillaz, I have been listening to them since I was like 8 years old.
Same here!! I saw a video of a live version and it was love at first sight/sound.
What about To Binge?
Little Dragon is pure auditory sex, glad they have another fan on board.
I recommend, underbart, it's my favorite little dragon song & video.
Check out" klap klap" too
Today my dog passed away, after being 13 years by my side, and I chose this song to remind me of him, I know that he's playing with my grandfather up there, cheers for that
Going to a Sussex University open day when the sun was shining, listening to this, having spent my entire life in the city. It helped me realise, there was a big beautiful world out there, one which I was only on the verge of discovering
Es una de mis rolas favoritas de Gorillaz y lo seguirá siendo, es perfecta
this is my absolute favourite song. i dont know how i didnt find it when it came out. its so beautiful
The track shifted then Little Dragon started singing, and she carried the song. That's talent.
toda la canción es hermosa, pero a partir del 2:15 al 2:45 es aún más mágica, mi canción preferida de todas 💜
