Just graduated last week, Studying for NCLEX, I don't want anything to do with hospitals, the passive aggressive nature of the nurse managers, miserable nurses, things that I have witnessed in the hospital at clinicals just a huge turn off etc, so inpatient clinic is my go to!!
I love this video and vibe. I didn’t feel like the hospital would be the environment for me. I’ve been on my ED orientation for 4 weeks and it’s not for me. I’m crying before work and every night and I felt bad it didn’t work for me because it seems to work for others. But I like to see videos like this that is ok for a new grad to pursue RN positions in outpatient and clinical settings. Thank you for this.
That is literally me right now! I was thrown into ED way too early because they made a mistake with my orientation schedule. I was so anxious and ready to quit. That's why I'm looking into clinic jobs but I dont have the experience to get into clinics :(
@@lolipoppz Hi! I finished my new grad orientation and been on my own for a month now. I asked my manager not to put me in ED til I get the basic skills down. I'm still very anxious! ED is very fast paced plus u need to know how to read rhythms. I just finished my CC1 but I need to practice before I get thrown back to ED :( I also applied for Med Tech school next year heheh. I don't enjoy nursing. Were always short staffed.
I’ve been doing long term care and I just got offered a job at our walk in clinic/ urgent care. Im so nervous. I haven’t given a shot to anyone yet & I’ve been a nurse for 3 years 😬 idk what to expect
@@omluv2949 Hello. I just applied for any nursing position even if the application said requires or prefers experience. Definitely make sure your resume stands out. Be yourself in your interview and do not over prepare too much.
I’m a 16 year hospital RN and will be transferring to adult medicine clinic, I found ur video very helpful and reassuring. Thank you so much for sharing.🙏🏽
I have been a nurse for over 10yrs and Im done and burnt out with bedside nursing. I was researching other fields of nursing looking into correctional nursing and I saw your vid. You make me want to pursue FNP now. But Im also wanting to pursue msn nursing informatics. I love your lofi background music
Woooooow THANKS for that oldcart tip. I’m a new lpn and feel so inexperienced compared to my coworkers and phone calls are my weakness! Sometimes I find myself forgetting to ask important questions. Loved this
Hi 👋👋 just wanted to drop by and show some love. I’m a nurse in Hawaii! I work in the clinic too. Love watching other nurses videos here. Ty for sharing your day! You are so awesome for going back to school and managing it all!
May I ask did you ever work in a hospital setting before getting this job at the clinic? :) I graduated nursing school May 2020 and have yet to find a job at the hospital but I got offered a job at a clinic recently! I am worried that perhaps my critical thinking won't be as developed since I never worked in a hospital before and I thought if I accepted the job at the clinic that I won't be that qualified since I have no prior work experience. I am currently working a job vaccinating patients but have no other nursing experience yet
Wow, I’m on the same boat. I have no prior experience as a nurse, only skills I’ve learned were in nursing school. Got an interview for outpatient clinic and I’m nervous! 😬
I’m thinking of doing outpatient RN, as a certified phlebotomist, I’m not sure if I should do outpatient LPN or outpatient RN, trying to find the difference 😵💫
I can’t wait! I’m already doing some things you as a phlebotomist ekg tech. I hope I get in this year so I can start my nursing studies. Thank you for sharing!
Hi, I was wondering if your job offers training working in an outpatient clinic? I’m a 3rd-semester rn student and not so sure if I want to work inpatient. I’m still trying to figure out what I really want to do but I’d like to know my options.
Yeah! They know I’m a new grad so they have been training me! I think it depends practice to practice! Goodluck with the rest of your program 💕 you’re gonna do amazing!!
How easy is it to get a job at the clinics? I'm always under the impression that older and more experienced nurses are qualified to work in clinics, whereas the new grads have to work in hospitals for some odd reason. Or does it depend? I'm sorry if I sound ignorant. Just very interested in working in clinics!
I think it depends! I personally wanted to start out with an inpatient RN job because I think you learn a lot more there! But since I'm still a full time student, having this clinic job works better with my schedule and gives me a little glimpse of what it would be like working in a primary care setting! It honestly depends on you and what you prefer!
There's this small pediatric clinic near where I live ran by a sweet doctor who has been in medicine for YEARS. He is right now 70-80 something and he says that he started medicine when he was in his 20's. I would love to serve there as a nurse to get vital signs and administer medicine and injections. What certification would I need to work there when I get older?
Hey ! I wanted to know how long did it take to hear back from Columbia in regards to your acceptance. I received the letter in November stating that I passed the initial admissions review . They also sent a letter early January stating that they are publishing admission decisions in 2 rounds.

Yes and no! Because of covid, we missed out on A LOT of clinical experience, which would’ve been helpful preparing us for RN jobs :/ but classes wise, yes, depending on how you study and how much you retain after the classes 😅
