@@abehaouaria The core is just simple. Buddhism is a way of life. That's why Buddha himself said " Don't just believe what I say, search your self is that true or not ". There is always a logic behind every Buddha teaching. So it's not fair to look at a teaching without deep researching what actually it means.

This man misunderstood buddhism philosophy. Buddhism is the middle way. Neither good or evil. Neither self or non-self. It’s not about seeing life being negative or positive it about being realistic about reality and seeing things as they are. Buddhism doesn’t deny that there is joy and happiness in life, but we recognise the suffering and how to overcome it, so we can lead to a peaceful life.

We are all now studying Islam as when our father passed away, we did a proper Muslim funeral. God touches people in different ways, just do good!! There are lot of similarities of peace and love between these two religion, however Buddhism isn’t a religion by right, just the way of life. I love being Buddhist and UNITARIAN!

Buddhism is not a way of life. The Buddha does not explain about his journey to enlightenment as something pleasant and therefore the path to enlightenment is not to be taken up as a form of indulgence (such as a way of life).
Also one cannot be both Buddhist and Unitarian. This is because one takes Refuge to enter Buddhism. Taking refuge in anything outside of the 3 Jewels means you break the Refuge Vow and hence not Buddhist. If you read the Suttas the view of a creator God comes under Wrong View and is an impediment to enlightenment.

I guess he thinks Dukha is only suffering.
He missed the point that Sukha( pleasure) and Dukha( pain) comes about when the Self identifies with both.
Buddhism is about Balance of the middle path and not to deny both pleasure and pain but to go beyond these polar opposites and be handle both alike as in what the Bhagavad Gita too says to handle polar opposites with equal mindedness.
That is Nirvana where one's ego ceases to be in the polar opposites of the world.
At the same time he forgets the Quran itself clearly states the same about the world being a transient playzone and we get dragged down by ourlives and attachment.
      Quran Surah 29:64
This worldly life is nothing but an amusement and play and the Last abode is indeed the Eternal life if they know.
      Quran Surah 63:9
O you who believe, your riches and your children must not divert you from the remembrance of God. And those who do that are the losers.
So honestly he has missed the point even in Islam.
Anyway, lets wish him well to gain knowledge.
      Quran Surah 20:114
and say " My Lord, increase me in knowledge"
So I hope no one here gets the wrong idea of Islam because of him.
Islam is very much the Middle Path too.
      Quran Surah 16:9 Quran
And upon God is the direction of the right(moderate/straight) way and among various paths are those deviating.
And if He willed, He could have guided you all.
The above verse talks about free will in the sense, its we who choose to follow the path or deviate from it.
I hope these are beneficial to explain that Islam is about peace and mindfulness.
As the saying goes that one who takes his ego as his god is clearly not in the straight path.
      Quran Surah 25:43
Have you seen O' Prophet, the one who has taken his own desires/ego as their god? Will you then be a guardian over him?"

Suffering not as in painful, but as impermanent. Meaning that what you do, no matter what it is, never remain forever and is subject to loss. This feeling that something good can't exist forever also means that nothing bad can last forever. But good and bad are also attachments to certain outcomes. The concept of suffering is that there is nothing permanent. As such we are trapped in Samsara (suffering) which is inherently temporary and ever changing. When I have a new car and then I wreck it, I suffer. Yes I may be injured, but I suffer because my car was destroyed perhaps. A great day with friends and family comes to an end at some point. The experience you had may have been great, yes, but not undying, everlasting. It ended. And with the drop in experience, a feeling of discontent and weariness can wash over us, and then we get depressed, thinking of the past and how great it was, perhaps. The cause of that suffering is due to attachment, and the idea of something remaining permanent. Our expectation and illusion that it could ever be permanent, when attached, leads to our sadness and discontent. Buddhist just choose to see reality as it is, rather than the impermanent understanding the senses provide.

The eyes you have, the perfection it contains, no one can make it, except god. So we believe in him and we believe in the afterlife. Because the evil will get from other people, those people aren't going to get away with it. God sees everything and in this life we can get forgiven or we get punished before we enter our graves. When we get into our graves and we still didnt turn back to god in forgiveness, it will be too late. @@Huda-qx8zk There are three schools of thought regarding the origin of the world. The first school of thought claims that this world came into existence by nature and that nature is not an intelligent force. However, nature works no its own accord and goes on changing.
The second school of thought says that the world was created by an almighty God who is responsible for everything.
The third school of thought says that the beginning of this world and of life is inconceivable since they have neither beginning nor end. Buddhism is in accordance with this third school of thought. Bertrand Russell supports this school of thought by saying, 'There is no reason to suppose that the world had a beginning at all. The idea that things must have a beginning is really due to the poverty of our thoughts.'
Modern science says that some millions of years ago, the newly cooled earth was lifeless and that life originated in the ocean. Buddhism never claimed that the world, sun, moon, stars, wind, water, days and nights were created by a powerful god or by a Buddha. Buddhists believe that the world was not created once upon a time, but that the world has been created millions of times every second and will continue to do so by itself and will break away by itself. According to Buddhism, world systems always appear and disappear in the universe.
H.G. Wells, in A Short History of the World, says 'It is universally recognized that the universe in which we live, has to all appearance, existed for an enormous period of time and possibly for endless time. But that the universe in which we live, has existed only for six or seven thousand years may be regarded as an altogether exploded idea. No life seems to have happened suddenly upon earth.'
The efforts made by many religions to explain the beginning and the end of the universe are indeed ill-conceived. The position of religions which propound the view that the universe was created by god in an exactly fixed year, has become a difficult one to maintain in the light of modern and scientific knowledge.
Today scientists, historians, astronomers, biologists, botanists, anthropologists and great thinkers have all contributed vast new knowledge about the origin of the world. This latest discovery and knowledge is not at all contradictory to the Teachings of the Buddha. Bertrand Russell again says that he respects the Buddha for not making false statements like others who committed themselves regarding the origin of the world.
The speculative explanations of the origin of the universe that are presented by various religions are not acceptable to the modern scientists and intellectuals. Even the commentaries of the Buddhist Scriptures, written by certain Buddhist writers, cannot be challenged by scientific thinking in regard to this question. The Buddha did not waste His time on this issue. The reason for His silence was that this issue has no religious value for gaining spiritual wisdom. The explanation of the origin of the universe is not the concern of religion. Such theorizing is not necessary for living a righteous way of life and for shaping our future life. However, if one insists on studying this subject, then one must investigate the sciences, astronomy, geology, biology and anthropology. These sciences can offer more reliable and tested information on this subject than can be supplied by any religion. The purpose of a religion is to cultivate the life here in this world and hereafter until liberation is gained.
In the eyes of the Buddha, the world is nothing but Samsara -- the cycle of repeated births and deaths. To Him, the beginning of the world and the end of the world is within this Samsara. Since elements and energies are relative and inter-dependent, it is meaningless to single out anything as the beginning. Whatever speculation we make regarding the origin of the world, there is no absolute truth in our notion.
'Infinite is the sky, infinite is the number of beings,
Infinite are the worlds in the vast universe,
Infinite in wisdom the Buddha teaches these,
Infinite are the virtues of Him who teaches these.' - (Sri Ramachandra)
One day a man called Malunkyaputta approached the Master and demanded that He explain the origin of the Universe to him. He even threatened to cease to be His follow if the Buddha's answer was not satisfactory. The Buddha calmly retorted that it was of no consequence to Him whether or not Malunkyaputta followed Him, because the Truth did not need anyone's support. Then the Buddha said that He would not go into a discussion of the origin of the Universe. To Him, gaining knowledge about such matters was a waste of time because a man's task was to liberate himself from the present, not the past or the future. To illustrate this, the Enlightened One related the parable of a man who was shot by a poisoned arrow. This foolish man refused to have the arrow removed until he found out all about the person who shot the arrow. By the time his attendants discovered these unnecessary details, the man was dead. Similarly, our immediate task is to attain Nibbana, not to worry about our beginnings.

Because you go to scholars and monks and imaams for answers. You don't find answers on youtube. It is true this guy knows nothing 'bout Buddhism. At least not enough to speak on the matter in the Name of Islam. So, I think that is enough to point out and have people study Buddhism as Muslims before they conclude on the matter. And you can't study something through untrustworthy sources such as a man who is ill-informed.

@ShamSana He was not a convert to Buddhism, unfortunately. The reasons he gives in this video are misinformation, for that he clearly has not grasped the Buddha's teachings well enough to speak about them, let alone speak about them to hundreds of thousands of people. As a muslim, he should've known exactly how bad misinformation is. Muslims have been the target of misinformation for so many years now. It is sad to see such a fate befall on a beautiful religion such as Islam. However, neither Buddhism should be subject to the spread of misinformation.

Some people can take the emptiness part of Buddhism as nihilism. When they say annihilate the self/ego, why wouldn’t you want this? We need ego to function socially but do you really have to strongly identify with it? Islam is a beautiful religion, and so is Buddhism.

    1. He says that Buddha taught that "life is suffering." Buddha did not teach that life is suffering. Buddha taught that suffering is an inevitable part of life.
    2. He says that Buddha taught that suffering is caused by "the ego." Buddha did not talk about "the ego." That's a concept that Freud invented. Buddha said that mistaken beliefs and bad practices cause suffering. One of these mistaken beliefs is the belief that the self is eternal, perfect, and invincible. The self is not eternal or perfect. The self is a composite thing like anything else and is subject to cause and effect, change, and all kinds of suffering.
    3. He says that Buddha taught that the ego must be annihilated. I don't know where he got this belief from. Nothing even remotely similar appears in Buddhism. Buddha taught against extreme ascetic practices and against self-annihilation.

Nirvana doesn't mean Annihilation like death but Annihilation of ego and attainment of supreme selfless infinite state we can not imagine what it is thirdly this state of Nirvana is pure nothingness where from everything comes out whole existence and rest again in it . Is like we now in exam hall. Who the want can answer and get higher result in this exam will pass this exam and can go university. But who the one cannot answer that, will failure the exam. How can you asking teacher to give you the answer when examination time. Is not fair to people the one who study hard before exam, if you can get the answer easily from teacher while exam process.
It’s same like you ask Allah to turn the red sky become red then you will convert muslim. Allah now already gave us a book for our guidance. Karma is the actions and karma you do. Whether it's good or bad karma Cannot be deleted. For example, if you kill someone This karma cannot be nullified. Because the person you kill cannot be revived.

    This is simple
If you think women are worth half of men - choose Islam.
If you think women are equal in inheritance and enlightenment choose Buddhism.
If you love Mohammad and want to kill people if someone makes fun of Mohammad, choose Islam.
If you love Buddha and forgive those who make fun of Buddha, choose Buddhism.
If you want to be told what to do in every aspect of life, choose Islam.
If you want freedom to think and make choices with guidance from the teachings choose Buddhism.
If you want to follow scriptures blindly, choose Islam.
If you want to question and debate, choose Buddhism.
If you think Allah is perfect but created this horrible world - choose Islam.
If you think this world is awful and we can create a better world with our trained mind than choose Buddhism.
If you want to learn how to meditate and develop your mind, body and speech learn Buddhism.
If you want to pray for things learn Islam.
If you believe cutting off hands is good punishment for theft, choose Islam.
If you believe in reforming minds of criminals and humane punishment choose Buddhism.
If you think God is outside of you, choose Islam.
If you think God is within choose Buddhism.
