I'm a student in bakery and heavier bread is better, it means you are using normal flour and let the machine do it's thing. You could alternatively let it rise a lil longer. Industrial store bought breads use additives which make it light and fluffy but it does not mean they are healthier (even if they so claim on the labels). I was gifted this machine for my birthday and just had a test run today. Should have watched your video first! I was jumping each time it beeped and didn't know what it was doing. (I'm used to a big industrial oven at school xD) but thank you so much for this ! Much better than reading the instruction manual. I have the same one and I love this thing! I admit I use it mostly for mixing the dough and I prefer to bake it later in the oven myself but it's still a big help to have this take care of all the kneading and rising. My favorite recipes that I've tried so far are the banana walnut bread (absolutely delicious) and the focaccia bread - so fluffy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Yum!!
@@MeemReviews Are you able to make a 2 lb loaf without it oozing out or hitting the lid? I read some reviews on Amazon saying that so worried and am wondering if I should return it.
Such a good review! Thank you! I hardly ever bake bread but lately have taken my old Sunbeam out and made one loaf a week or so ago. Today I was going to make more and it would not mix. Great review. I ordered my new machine and will get it sometime today. My last machine was a little bit noisy recently so I knew it’s about time to get it. I’ve had it over 30 years. Thanks for the great demonstration.👍🏼❤👍🏼
This helped alot, thank you! I thought that my unit was defective because the colour function didn't work in program 2 but you put my mind at ease by revealing that the colour function isn't an option in that program. Thanks!
At what stage do I take the kneading paddle for a white bread option as it rises for 3 times. Would it give me the paddle option in white bread program to remove it ?
Hi just wondering if you did anything different the second time around to make the bread turn out better? Also my machine was vibrating a lot when kneading and the display window steamed up, might need to return it🤔
Thank you for the informative video. As far as the machine "walking" during operation, i'm thinking if you take a thin towel folded in half and set the bread machine on top of that, it might stay in it's place.
Ohh.. it was a year ago, but I recall the texture of the bread when cut was much better the second time.. so at 6:17 you can see the base is not as 'fluffy' compared to the bread at 6:30, I think I started to sprinkle in the flour rather than dumping it in.
@@MeemReviews So how do you do this? There is no custom or home made button. When you select a program the times are already set. When I push the + or - it only increases or decrease the total time to get a baked loaf of bread (when its all done). There is no button to specify to want to increase the knead time, but not the rise time or bake time for example. Thanks for your reply. Much appreciated
No, it's not good for Roti since the programs are designed with Proofing times. So it will knead, rise, knead again then Rise again. You can try Stand mixers for kneading roti dough or even food processors come with some dough blades. Hope it helps.
A CAUTION WITH BREAD MAKERS: I don't know if the very expensive ones are any better, but I find a common problem among the machines: The bread pan's paddle-spindle and/or its bearings are in a humid, hot environmtne during use. If not made from steel that is highly resistant to rust, they gradually rust together, I you bake bread once a week, you may find after a couple of years, they lock up. This is especially true if one removes the paddle from the spindle before the last rise in order to avoid the paddle recess in the bottom of the loaf. My solution to the rust problem is not to bake in the machine. Before the last rise, transfer the dough to a baking loaf-pan. Let it rise in the oven away from cold drafts for about an hour, then bake it for about 40-45 minutes at 350-375F. Never bake in the bread machine. Use it only for mixing and kneading. A new pan will cost you $40-$50.
Take out the plastic packing part that is under the bowl. If you miss it like I did the bowl will be hard to remove and you will see why when you take the loaf out. Did not stink up the bread or the house but I clearly missed it. Easy to clean up as it breaks up easy after being cooked.
Did you find that you have any issues with the rise/overproofing? I see a lot of reviews of this machine with collapsed tops, but maybe it's as simple as not knowing to keep salt and yeast apart initially.
depends on the program and the type/size of loaf you are making. each program indicates the time. so for white bread 1.5lb loaf takes 3hrs 25mins in total.
Thank you for posting this. I'm wondering what the size of the bread slices are compared with a store bought loaf. I know that is something my husband will be picky about. Thanks!
How does it notify you to add stuff in this? The button you have to stand there and watch it light up or what? We're not really sure. Maybe in India it's different
Got this machine for Christmas and my first time using it the bread came out very hard crust and very dense! What am I doing wrong? Second time was the same thing! Not very pleased with the machine. Help!
A couple of things could be the reason. 1) not enough water/liquid added when making the dough, 2) Less butter causing it to become too hard. 2) The flour wasn't 'aired'. If you fill the scoop the flour directly from the packet/jar and dump it out, the flour to water ratio will be wrong, meaning too much flour and less water. Try to scoop out the flour and then gently sprinkle it into a measuring jug, this will get you a better measurement. I hope these help.
First time use: Instructions say nothing about salt and yeast not touching each other. When done, I could not get the bread to release from the bowl. Any suggestions?
I wonder if you could measure the bread pan for me, length and width. I'm looking for a machine with a good size bread pan and most of them are too small. If you could, I would really appreciate it. This video was very helpful, thank you for making it.
For the most store bought like in size and shape look into the zojirushi virtuoso bread maker. It makes a 2 lb loaf and is kind of the gold standard in bread machines. If larger size of loaf is what you are after the breville custom loaf bread maker will make a 2.5 lb loaf.

All the machine's computer does is offer a choice of time sequences.) If you use whole wheat flour (all or partially) adding wheat gluten flour 1-3 level tablespoons will keep the loaf from being too dense if you like it to be lighter in weight.
