Pausing the podcast to post this when I heard the bit - MK, I definitely think you should take the leap and live away from home for 6 months. I moved away from Dubai back in 2012 for my undergrad, and have been in the UK since, and of course, I miss my family so much. 🧿You are right - you do value them a lot more, and want to rush back the greater the distance. It becomes harder to just take them for granted. Having said that, being a drive away from them in the same city, and getting to experience what you can learn from living alone is something I will never ever regret - my biggest life lessons came from that period. Also, you're so open to going back after a period of 3-6 months, so TAKE THE PLUNGE AND DO IT!!!!! 🥰
P.S. Travelling alone doesn't count! 😋
AND YOU ARE A GREAT DAUGHTER - they will see you grow if you do do it and they will understand why you wanted it!! 💖
"Deal with the world one on one" - I couldn't agree more. The number of obstacles I've had to face and still face as I type this is crazy, but the lessons and feelings that come with them are priceless - wouldn't change a thing.
(I need to stop replying to my own message so much, but you can see if I have such a strong view on this.)
