I found a huge bag of quilling paper strips at my local dollar store and had to buy it of course. Now I know how to use some of it on cards as well as making quilled flowers. Thanks so much Marion !!

Right off the get go as you went through your stash, I saw the spelllbinders dies that are supposed to be delivered tomorrow and had a chuckle! We’re so alike! I have a $200 cart sitting there of things I want now and they’re starting to sell out on me! Just don’t have the money. I have a kidney dr bill and the ER bill when I had to go just to ask how to taper off my medications because my dr wouldn’t ever tell me! And the ER dr couldn’t because they aren’t trained in that! Oh if you knew half of what I’ve been going through…. I think you’d want to come over to this side of the pond and give them a piece of your mind! It’s been a real nightmare. Watching you makes me so happy! I have strip dies from Simon says. But I had to buy 2 sets to get all of them. But I have used them and love the look! The card I made for you that you never got had a stripped circle on it and an embossed flower, remember I showed you a picture?

@@marionemberson being unable to do all the physical work I need to do and that it’s been very dry until recently, I’ve had time to make a bunch of cards! I did all my Christmas cards(30), and (15)Thanksgiving cards, (2) get well cards and (4) birthday cards! And an extra Christmas card that was for my friend in Florida! I’ve had a little break now . I just swept out all the debris from my large mulch beds yesterday and was in so much pain I couldn’t catch my breath! It took about an hour. So I’ve been busy making cards. I’m thinking of sending yours very early to see if it makes it there! Do you think that your post gets confused when I mark it “do not bend “ and
“ non machinable “? I’m using plain cardboard mailers now for all my birthday or special cards. I can still decorate the envelope but I put it in the plain mailer and so far they have been getting where they should go. I’m convinced that because I decorate the envelopes too, there are some evil ppl that see it and think there might be a gift card or money in it and open it and toss the card in the garbage! So in the blank cardboard mailer no one knows what it looks like or could be.

I must admit I’ve never heard of Non machinable I don’t think it’s a phrase we use on our mail in the UK and yes making envelopes pretty can make people think what’s inside ? I think plain is best. 🥰🥰🥰
@@marionemberson we have a special stamp that costs more and says non machinable and I stamp it non machinable. It tells our post department that they cannot put it through a machine they have to hand cancel them and then they should be protected from being smashed or ripped. But even if your post doesn’t know what that means it shouldn’t stop them from delivering it. I mean non machinable is pretty easy to figure out what it means. But I’m the white mailers I won’t have to mark them that way. I’ll still use the stamps I have that are non machinable and for mass cards for thanksgiving here and Christmas I’ll just use regular envelopes. But I’ll mail yours in a cardboard mailer just in case.
You do realise Marion, that we will all be calling everything Do da’s, I know it is stuck in my head and gives me a laugh every time I say it. Such an awesome phrase that makes people smile. I love your sense of humour and your comedic sense of timing. It is one of the reasons I watch, apart from the lovely creations. ❤😊

There’s a card summit going on now and I just saw a great Christmas card made with the poinsettia embossing folder and strips that she embossed and layered at an angle part way across. It was awesome! She did cranberry and pink on a white card with the poinsettia folder. Gorgeous!

For the Christmas card, you could have slid a white ink pad over the embossing instead of sanding for a similar look.

When I got a high quality paper trimmer for the first time I had so much fun cutting that I ended up cutting enough strips to last me a lifetime 😂 Love all the cards you've made here but wow, that Christmas card looks so special. Looking forward to part 2!

I'm recently working with the sizzing Big Shot and today I was triying some of the dies cut and finded out that the diying cuts are transfering in to the cutting pads ( I am quite upset because it's brand new). I have been watching videos and I can see that is something that happens to most everyone. Do you know any way to protect the cutting pads?

Hi Sarah, sadly there’s nothing you can do about it, I get sad too as I love them looking all pristine, you can keep one for the cut side only and turn it over regularly to help with the warping, I hope that helps 🥰🥰🥰

An empty ball point ink pen would have worked or a small ball embossing(?) tool would work instead of your bone folder.

Sad to say but they use extra tape on things not only to hold in place. But to detour any thieves trying to get into the packs.😊
😢 when I had my scrapbook store I actually had someone come in, remove the the product from the packaging and left me the empty packet 🥴🥴🥴 I think it was their way of saying ‘I stole this from you’ 🥰🥰
If you put the die back in the die cut you can put the pieces back in perfectly

Hi Marion - I was "playing" with my wonderful new embossing products and "doo dahs" and I wanted to share with everyone what I did....I combined this video along with your glitter rainbow video (fawn lawn rainbow die); and I cut card stock strips that were covered with Elizabeth Craft double sided adhesive....then I glittered them different colors using Wow Sparkle! So I had glitter striped card...make sense? It was so cool - thank you so much for your wonderful inspiration and lessons - Janice, USA

I know a lot of the US card 'influencers say "standard a2" however we do not have a standard size. ;) just fyi I was just looking at strip dies yesterday! Are they an 1/8th, 1/4th, 1/2 and 3/4th? The biggest doesn't look like and inch, that's why I'm asking. I would love to have those..I often cut strips but they never seem to be the same size ha ha
Hi, these are the ones I used, the link is in the video description if you want to take a closer look.
Size: Dies are 8.5" long and 1.5" wide. Each die cuts a different number and width of strips:
Three 1/2" strips
Five .3" strips
Six 1/4" strips
Eight 3/16" strips

Beautiful cards. If you put the hello die cut back into place once you had the striped background glued to card base it would make the gluing of the 'bits" a lot easier. Once glued remove the hello and you still have your 2for 😊
