I have never commented before on TH-cam but if there was a time for me to do it, it was today. Today I was saved. Our church was having a moment today for newcomers, troubled ones, anyone who wants to become baptized, and so on. This song played the during that moment and I felt the lord doing his work. I tried denying that it was my time to go up - fearing the humility. Thinking I should wait for my Christian parents who were supposed to be there so they could bear witness. Scared to repent but unaware at the time, but the lord gave me strength. I looked behind me to a family friend and they guided me up while I was deep in tears and I prayed with the pastor, felt the Holy Spirit course through me, and was later welcomed by the everyone who attended. I drove home sobbing feeling pain and suffering in my heart just crying out to the lord for forgiveness. This song will forever be a reminder to the day I was saved, my testimony, and my connection to Jesus Christ and his father
We are rejoicing with you that the Lord has opened your eyes to his forgiveness and mercy! After your Bible, two good books to read about forgiveness are The Cross Centered Life by C.J. Mahaney, and In Christ Alone by Sinclair Ferguson. Keep making much of Jesus!

I almost choked on my ginger ale and bursted into tears so hard while making dinner for my son that i had to run to the bathroon for a towel. Ive been seeking deliverance from stubborn sin and unrepentance for a while now been crying at certain worship music with certain notes and messages. Been listening to Christian music on and off on the local radio in the car. Noticed my Autistic son who is Audible but non verbal to a degree took a vocal singing liking to O come O Ye Faithful which is one of my favorite Christmas songs. Played this when I got home and started making dinner.

Last year, around that time, I was grieving the loss of my mom, a strong woman. She gave her life to Jesus at 65 . Today, still painful but happy she is with our Lord. It is never too late.
love love love this...I just lost my sweet dog companion and my heart has been in pieces. I went through a hellish divorce just a little over a year ago and it truly was Jesus who is the healer and bringer of comfort and peace and promise.
3 weeks before my grandmother passed away, shs accepted Jesus Christ as her personal saviour and said to me, "Jesus loves you." She was baptised the day before she joined God's house up in the Heavens.
Praise the Lord for his mercy!

I love how she's wearing common clothes. The beauty of this is the whole video and song are for everyone. We're all common but all worthy of His love. He came for all of us.
I shared those tears. Those fears. The pain and regret. The sin that condemns me and the things that enslave me. Until the power and truth of this song centers me on that glorious gospel. Thank you Bob, Lisa, the crew, and the family in Christ who were transparent enough to let us see all of their reactions so that our eyes are turned to Jesus yet again through song.

I’m not Sovereign Grace’s biggest fan but what they’ve done with this song is absolutely delightful and glorifies Christ greatly. What a beautiful and humbling song.
It's not Christmas anymore, but I'm still listening to this song and crying every time- come, see what your God has done! He is amazing and loves us so much! This song is a great reminder of that. I am a failure, weak and broken. I would be hopeless without my wonderful saviour. But he is born for me and you! Praise God!

What a beautiful song to celebrate this advent season and Christ's birth! What a God we have that He would condescend Himself to be born without the curse of sin to a virgin peasant then scorned and mocked by the very people that awaited His arrival. He then took the sins of all generations of those who would believe upon Himself and drank the full cup of God The Father's wrath on our behalf so that we may be risen with Him from death to life everlasting.

Amen. I lost my dad in January of 2017. He was placed in hospice just before Christmas. It probably sounds weird to say this, but that may have been our best Christmas ever. None of us cared what gifts we got. The commercialism completely lost its appeal. It was all about Jesus. The reality of our brokenness made the coming of Jesus even sweeter. In Him, we already had the greatest gift of all. Not even death could take that away from us.

I heard this song for the first time in church this morning and it really spoke to me. It almost brought me to tears because it is so touching and has such a powerfull message. I've had it in my head all day and just had to listen to it again. From now on, this song will be the first to come to mind when I'm going through hard times. I thank jesus every day for what he had to go through for us. And he is still willing to forgive us no matter what.

This song is another one of God's amazing gifts, just like the person it speaks of.
The way the first half line of the verses sound just like the original hymn, and this hymn generally building on the message of the original is just mind-blowing. How it is that some people think stuff like this comes without the intervention of a Good Creator God is beyond me.
I have never been able to listen to this song without being brought to tears. Please pray that will never change.
Great song and not just for Christmas! Ideal song for services that folk turn up to once a year though. Strong personal message. I find that having been in church for seventy plus years my awareness and interest is encouraged by good additions to the repertoire whereas those who visit infrequently are disturbed that we're not still locked into 19th century hymns.

It remains heart-breaking that Jesus, despite His love, patience and mercy is still rejected today. May His Holy, set part Spirit draw those whom He loves and waits for make a decision in the Father's perfect timing. We must be relentless for those who still either reject Him or don't even know Who He is. Grace, mercy and the peace that passes ALL understanding.

I totally would have hit the “dislike” button before I understood brokenness and grace, back when I would have felt like telling the unfaithful that Christ was born for them was too scandalous. Wholeheartedly clicking the “like” button at this point in life ❤️
