@@wilbert3799 IDK. I can’t see any time where you could have organically introduced Tooru, a college student who works at the university hospital, earlier in the plot of Jojolion, a story that revolves around college students who repeatedly visit the university hospital. There’s just no scenes he could possibly fit in.
I may not have read the manga but what I thought was neat was that most of the side villains and even Kira himself was hinted in certain scenes. It really embraces the whole “Anyone can be a potential villain” even when jojo characters are easy to spot from normal people.
Didn’t know it at the time but one of the greatest rewards was going back to watch episode 1(or 2) of part 4 was noticing that most of the cast (kira included i think) were looking at Josuke when he saved that woman from being mugged outside the convenient store
There is so much love in the anime adaptation of Jojos that you can tell the people behind it really cared about the source material. The July 15th arc was amazing, I loved every second becouse the town felt like a town, it felt planed and dangerous, you knew Josuke couldn't show up becouse you know where he is, they truly made an amazing job.
It'd have to be a movie or something. One of the most commonly mentioned BIG issues is that horses are VERY hard to animate. There's a lot of muscles, and it would be a little bit awkward to CGI them. It'd be a lot of work just to make a movie, but an animated series would be near impossible, or just take many years to complete. The JoJo hype would die out.
@@bluejacket4429 I see your point about the horses being hard to animate, but part 7 is just too long to put in a single film. I think they should separate into parts, each being 12/13 episodes of top tier animation; the hype won't die in that case considering part 7 being one of the most exciting jojo sagas

Part 4 is by far my favorite. The small town setting is perfect for the episodic villain of the week formula and once Kira is introduced it turns into a dramatic murder mystery cat and mouse game. The tension and pace ramp up until the insane finale with Kira’s new ability. It’s just so good
I find it absolutely criminal that not enough people talk about how good of an adaptation the Part 4 anime is, down to super small additions like Kira simply looking at Cinderella's shop for, what, 3 or 4 seconds? But it adds so much
Completely agree about the July 15th arc. Watching it week to week the name of the arc alone got me super excited because it made it feel like this wasn't just a bunch of side quests, but instead a suspenseful string of connected events with an impactful climax.
Nice video! Let me add this about the first portion of the video (Harvest-Cinderella-Kira-SHA arcs): while it may seem that Araki planned Aya's role in these arcs right from the start, as stated in the video, Araki works with a weekly schedule mindset when writing JoJo in WSJ, which doesn't give him a lot of space for planning ahead (aside from the actual beginning and finale of the part)... Araki never thought of using Cinderella as an escape plan for Kira until near the time he needed to write the conclusion of the SHA arc... He stated this in Jump Remix Part 4 (2004): "I didn’t think at all about using Cinderella to change his appearance. When he was cornered and I was thinking hard about how Kira might escape, lightning struck me and I realized ‘hey I could just use Cinderella which I wrote about last episode!’ I’m basically thinking at a week-by-week interval and never about what happens after that. I don’t know about Jump manga these days, but it’s all about how I make this week interesting for me."
Yeah this is important to point out as it adds context. Shigechi's harvest ran for 7 weeks (7 chapters) Yoshikage Kira Wants to Live Quietly ran for 5 (5 chapters) Yukako Yamagishi Dreams of Cinderella ran for 6 (6 chapters) Sheer Heart Attack ran for 11 (11 chapters) Uncertain if there were any breaks in between the chapters scattered throughout but assuming it's all contiguous, that's 29 total chapters, 29 weeks or 7 and a half months, the better part of a year. Due to this length of time during serialization, Shigechi did have room for grieving at the time as well as Dr. Aya. Nevertheless, David's decision to reorder the chapters for a more compact (time-wise) viewing experience is a good one.
Part 4 was such a huge step up from part 3 in terms of writing. I'm glad Araki gave the villain more involvement in the greater plot, and everything that David Prod. changed/added to improve the story. Even with this amazing cast of characters, I don't think a purely villain-of-the-week formula that part 3 followed would keep me interested.
Even in the world of anime, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is by far it's own class of adaptation. Even the great Berserk could not match how Jojo was handled in animation!
If anyone has watched the new Sandman series, this way of restructuring and hinting villains and characters throughout to make the story cohesive is very similar in both the adaptations.
So, just to alleviate some potential discrediting to the writing of DiU's manga: I still wish they could've at least fit in the end of the Transmission Tower arc in the anime. I wouldn't consider that whole moment "fluff" - that stuff is fun to refer back to when one is to guess what Josuke will do in the final scuffle with Kira with his heart of glass-blood maneuver. When he nearly slips off of the Tower from Toyohiro's blood, he says "I can't heal the blood that's already here!" which can be taken as a subtle hint to the said battle-maneuver of Crazy D - which was the strike that led to his ultimate defeat & death. I already talked a bunch about this aspect on other websites, and might have to do a video on it eventually. Plus, how can they not include Kira's on-the-spot distance measuring? Like, you know, the thing he does at the start of Part 8 as a cool callback??? It's just these two things and a few comedy bits that I consider to be blemished in the anime.

@@jacktduggan58 I don't know if it's just because it was the first Jojo manga I read, but I really enjoyed the start of Stone Ocean. The setting was just really interesting, functioning differently than real prisons in some key ways that really go a long way in making it feel bizarre and memorable. I also liked seeing Jolyne become accustomed with prison life and her ability. Sadly the anime cut a lot of prison specific scenes, but I understand why. I really like how the ending of part 6 where Pucci is defeated takes place in the prison again, and you instantly recognize precisely where in the prison Emporio is, and in relation to the ghost room. It's a pretty thoroughly developed setting and I'm glad Stone Ocean effectively ended where it began, really selling that the universe came full circle. It was a nice goodbye to the prison too, which I didn't realize I missed until the part with Emporio. Even some of the fights early on have prison guards that change the course of the battle, with the characters having to work around them. Notably with the Marilyn Manson fight, or with the foo fighters introduction and the exploding bracelets.

@@jacktduggan58 True. It’s sad that the anime will keep it underrated after Netflix blew it. It’s sad how much the hype died out simply due to the way it was released.

Something cool about the July 15th (Thurs) is that July 15 1999 (1999 being the year pt4 takes place) it actually did fall on a Thursday
