Brian, if u r writing on here. you r the greatest jazz artist i have ever heard, my father thought so as well, i wish he could have listened to all ur songs. we really like ur music. please keep composing thanks, :)
This man is truly gifted and talented, what's more, he is using it to bless us. I'd love to see Brian perform here in London. His music is on-point every time.
OK. Why doesn't Brian Culbertson have like over 1 million plus views? Jazz musicians are underrated while Justin Bieber gets like 20 something million views and for what? o_O
there's a myth that both jazz aficionados and regular musical listeners have learned to agree on and preserve: Jazz is complex and therefore not easy to listen to and understand for casual music listeners, so "Anything that becomes popular is therefore not considered Jazz!!!!!!!!!!"
I hear you Mr Salad! But kids rule the music buying industry. Remember when you were 15, were you into Jazz? It seems its not until you're older that you learn to appreciate true musicians....
Howard Harris I started listening to Pat Metheny at age 9 and I actually enjoyed "easy listening." I'm talking the the elevator type of easy listening music. People thought I was a weirdo kid I enjoyed listening to that type of music. It was relaxing to me and put me in a good place as a kid, and as an adult, it still puts me in a good place. At age 15 I was listening to Grover Washington Jr. Michael Franks, Lyle Mays, Steely Dan, and Lionel Hampton.
I just discovered Brian Culbertson a month ago, looking for smooth jazz to play while I work. I'm new to jazz and new to Culbertson and now, have a new obsession.
This video was produced by myself and Joey Castro (the same guy that brought you LIVE FROM THE INSIDE and SKIES WIDE OPEN). Nick Harris was the Director of Photography who also shot Skies and Live From The Inside. These guys are great!!!
Brian Culbertson Hi Brian!:)...just seeing this post from 6 years ago...hopefully u see this here in 2018!(lol:)...your jazz music is sooooooo amazing!!..I have followed your music from day one...i am from the midwest area in IL..and knew your father, Mr. Culbertson who taught Jazz at McArthur High School in Decatur, IL..my brother was in the jazz band under direction of your father...i didnt know you at the time, but i knew of you from my brother, Dewayne Dotson who was in the jazz band and played the "sax" and Steve Peters who was also a saxophonist along with him and his twin, Scott who was also in the jazz band, i believe with you!(lol:)...your Dad was one of the best instructor's around and I loved his style ..which is why i can see why you are so talented!!(lol)..your style is "impeccable"...so smoothe and relaxing...and of course unique...I will always be a "fan"!!:)...I had 2 of your CD's, but unable to find..someone must have stolen them from my car!(lol:)..so, I am rebuilding my music list of all your music..as well with other artists u have worked with...I look forward to seeing u in concert one day!...Keep it coming with your "awesome" talent!!😊👍👍👍
Great music bro! Im a guitarist/trombonist. I played Montreux Festival on bone at age 17 as part of an ensemble. Many years later toured on guitar with Lou Donaldson. I dig your horn arrangements especially.
Brian Culbertson - It's Time: ahhh, you & the band knew I'd be back cause I wouldn't be able to live life without hearing your music somewhere ... and surprise ... here I am! Yess ... this is so sweet to my ears! Love to all of you, always, Juanita

Hola!! Desde Venezuela!! Felicitaciones!! Eres súper carismático, con un estilo único, me fascina toda su música tiene mucho ritmo y un talento increíble! Gracias! Por alegrar mis días cada vez que veo tus vídeos de verdad eres genial!! Te deseo mucho éxito! Feliz noche!
I love Brian Culbertson's diversity. He can make extremely light and fun tracks like this and Go, but also the funkiest and dirtiest funk in town like So Good. Your music is so good it's scary. So underrated!
Brian Culbertson you rock!!!! I cannot wait to see you in Seattle Washington on your Trilogy Tour. All your cd's are absolutely FANTASTIC, wish you would come up to Vancouver, B.C. Canada, BC!♥🎶🎹😍
Brian Culbertson is a superb keyboard player, But Jonathan Fritzen is thee new kid on the block; right now; If you haven't as yet; listen to some of his tunes, it's magical, it's melting
Seriously Ricardo??? I love Jonathan's music immensely, but to compare him to ''THE GREAT" Mr Culbertson??? No, no, no. Not even close! Jonathan's music is somewhat commercial (melodically controlled, though sweet and smooth) and doesn't really have any "Jump" to it. He doesn't really cut loose. HERE'S A QUOTE FROM JONATHAN ABOUT BRIAN (see www.diva-portal.se/smash/get/diva2:449965/FULLTEXT01.pdf: "Two of my main influences have been young contemporary artists saxophone player Jimmy Sommers, and pianist Brian Culbertson. The Master of doing these subtle changes is pianist, and multi instrumentalist Brian Culbertson. His music sounds so simple at first, but the more you listen to his work, the more finer details you hear, and how he adds instruments and sounds at just the ”right” time, to keep you interested all the way from the start of the song until the end. He is also the master of writing simple and good melodies, and when he plays the same melody a second time, he will play it with one or two changes, keeping to the original idea, but making a change so it does not sound static in a wrong way. He said once (Radio Interview 2004) ” I like concept albums”. This really got to me. It made me feel the importance of having the piano in focus throughout the album; even though there are other instrument or vocals doing something, you should always get the feeling that the piano is in the center. This way of thinking made me eliminate some Rhodes solos, and other keyboard stuff and place the piano more in the center." Listen to Brian Culbertson's "Feelin' It", and "Get It On" to hear him get funky and listen to the purity of his playing in "Let's Get Started" and "It's Time." Enjoy.....
He did a GREAT show up in Napa Calif. this past summer. He does a Jazz Fest up there every year. EVERYONE was bopping and swaying to his tunes. Well worth the drive up from San Francisco
C'est n'est pas normal plain de musicien sans talents devienne connue dans le monde entier et lui fait une des meilleurs musique du monde et n'est que tres peut connue c'est injuste en tout cas bravo a toi Brian tu iras loin 😜✌️👍
Brian Culbertson must be the most "grooviest" jazz musician to hang with, all those other jazz artist stay in one spot with their eyes closed, playing all sad songs, Brain makes faces, jokes around with the items he has and he always lightens the place up with his music, he is at least 39 years old and still kicking it, I also got word not a while back that he is working on his 13th album, god bless you Brian, keep the funk alive!!!
Brian, if u r writing on here. you r the greatest jazz artist i have ever heard, my father thought so as well, i wish he could have listened to all ur songs. we really like ur music. please keep composing thanks, :)

9095Diana Millions and perhaps billions are starving because the garbage that passes for music these days simply has zero nutritional value...
