Great job man. I've done metal work for years. You are the only one of few that I ever saw do it right. It all locks together if done correctly and more importantly, keeps it flashed properly.

As asked before, how do you finish off the inside recess?

Hey, does a 13/64 drill bit drill a hole through a heavy structural girt, or perlin, or column for a size #14 or # 10 tap screw? If I remember correctly it would be a #10 tap screw, while a 15/64 drill bit would be for a #14 tapscrew, while 3/16 would work for a #8 tapscrew through heavy steel.

2:38 You should "always wear protective gloves when working with metal," even if the person in the vid doesn't.

If you don’t want the 45 degree cut can you just leave it square?

I left much mine square. I see no problem with it. Just make sure water can escape thru the bottom J trim. I should have a video posted on my channel within a week on how I installed the metal trim and siding. Just thought I’d throw that out there.

what is used to finish off the space between the window and the trim?

      Sure wish they'd answer this

They won’t answer it because they don’t have one. All these guys build these homes for people but never tell you they are steadily fighting leaks until they get lucky it finally works correctly.

Would it be a good idea to use flashing tape all around the edges after installation?

waste of money, the walls should already be properly sealed! i would recommend to install flashing under the water barrier, and metal siding should always be installed on some kind of rain-screen, even if it is a 1/4".

"Always wear protective gloves when working with metal" - meanwhile, the guy in the video is not wearing gloves. :)

Absolutely correct. Missed that when we shot the video.

I don’t wear gloves either. I can’t feel what I am grabbing for with gloves on. So I just take my cuts with pride as they come. Lol😅

    Fancy watch and no gloves?

He should have been wearing gloves. We missed that during filming. I appreciate you commenting on the video.
