In my book your experiment worked, because you was almost borderline diabetic and your HBa1c dropped. Now I agree with the doctor, you don't have to eat Dahl rice & bhagie alone. But I don't understand how could the doctor tell you to just eat anything and not to keep up with your diet. Well done 👍🏽
I don't have luck with Dhall? After eating it is only gas ⛽️ and burping after? Even I don't put pepper and Saffron? Any beans I ate is the same problems I have after. Gasssssst to sell lol OMG 🌶
Man I went on a vegetable soup diet at the age of 56 and when I went to the doctors, I was doing a medical for life insurance the doctor couldn't believe he said for my age nothing was wrong, the doctor made me do exercise in his office man every test he did he saying nah it to good to be true but then again I'm vegetarian for over 30 years and still feels good and I'm 63 now
I loveeeeee these types of videos where you experiment with different foods and ideas etc !!! I could eat dhal rice and bhagi every day! This challenge easy for me!
Very proud to see the excellent level of care by the folks at My Care Medical Lab!👍 And I may be mistaken, but I believe there was a slight change in Mr. Baptiste's complexion; it looked clearer. Very humourous doctor. 😂 He's also admirably knowledgeable about the History of the Diet of early East Indians who came to the West Indies as Indentured Servants. Indeed, many ate meat (aside from beef of course), and was primarily due to their Caste. So the learned Doctor is correct, East Indian Indentured Servants were NOT vegetarians as they're widely and erroneously thought to have been.
Nice video. There are other varieties of Bhaji in Trinidad, in addition to the Dasheen bushaka Taro leaves; there is the more common Chorai Bhaji - aka Amaranth, Poi Bhaji aka Malabar Spinach usually cooked with the dhall, Karmi Bhaji aka Morning Glory, and Pusley Bhaji aka Purslane, used in salads.
Man as I said before I love ur videos, continue doing good work. Add some salad with your food and if you could get some moringa leaves to add in the Bhagie and cook together
I do love dhal, rice and bhagi. Don't have dhal as often as I'd like since it raises my blood sugar. You are exactly right about portion control. I do understand you feeling hungry in between, having salads with a vinaigrette dressing or lime or lemon juice squeezed over it like what Farmer Harry did in one of the previous videos., cabbage , cucumbers, cauliflower, etc. These are like fillers and are considered free.
Day 7 😭 Day 9 ☠️ day 12 😭 who you talking 2 lol your videos are always fun and educational 😁🙌 there is always a lesson to be learnt. Thank you Lyndon 🙏 I always look forward to your videos.
Hey, could you add English Subs for the two farmers, you have done videos on. They seem really cool but unfortunately I couldn't understand exactly what was been said on their part. Thanks,
Hi! Thanks for your suggestion. I'll be honest with you. In the recent past I've added subtitles to two or three videos, but had to stop; it's a time-consuming effort, and between filming, editing etc I couldn't keep up with the effort. As time allows though I'll get around to it. Something to note: TH-cam auto-generates subtitles which you can enable but given our dialect the results can be pretty wonky. Cheers.
I remembered about 30yrs ago my cousin told his aunt that the only thing he feeling to eat is dhal rice & bhagi. She gave it to him for breakfast lunch and dinner. After 5 days later he didn't want to see any dhal rice & bhagi!😂 Good luck Lyndon👍
Bro ah enjoyed this video. The doctor really funny as well lol. Stay health and eat everything that you can eat. To much for one thing not good... Your head look abit smaller lol. Keep up the good work 👏
1. Toaster oven provudes natural heat. 2. I dont use micriwave. 3. Plastics and heat dont mix, despite the label micriwave safe. 4. The old people always ate freshly cooked food, never fridge food, food for thought, lol pun not intended. 5. I love dhal rice bhagi😋
Coconut milk in the dhal or Bhagi makes it easy. As you would be getting your daily fat in and your body and mind will be satisfied nutritionally. Fat is important for fat soluble vitamins.
Lyndon. Although your cholesterol are bellow 200, I want you to pay attention of the ranges of your LDL and HDL. Ideally you need to lower your LDL and increase your HDL. If oil was a part of the preparation that may be a factor for the numbers. Your cholesterol is not ideal brother. Look at your numbers and the ranges in the other column. Challenge yourself to increase your HDL and lower your LDL.
Goshhhhhhh i love dr.siewnarine......dats my doc 4rm since i born....his mouth soooo hott eh...huhhhhh ik his voice so gud......best doctor i've ever had
Hello Lyndon...how are you doing hope all's well with you and your family, well see everyone's do ok especially your mom and dad love to bad anyway i would like you to do a research and video if possible on Huntington disease and help be awareness on it......and if possible as well i would like to contact you on further information about people in our home suffering from that heart breaking disease......thank you.
Interesting,i have some constructive criticism for you-I hope that you in reality didn’t stick to that diet for 30 days because from a dietary standpoint it makes zero sense, always eat a Mediterranean style diet for optimal nutrition.
U could eat anything, but just a little of it? Rice 🍚 only a little. White flour is a nono Fried foods is a nono for me. Meats 🍖 I don't 👍 I am not a person that's eat meats? No junk foods for me
Lyndon, i watched this video and previous ones with you discussing your health and fitness and sad to say you are falling into the same trap as all trinidadians for the past 200 years.....ill just list out the points: 1) all food is NOT equal. 2) meat is NOT the enemy, in fact there's a saying "you need flesh to sustain flesh" 3) a vegetarian diet is NOT healthy and damages your brain long term. 4) the nutritional content of vegetables, legumes and fruits is NOT what it used to be 50 years ago. 5) carbohydrates are COMPLEX SUGARS and eating too much flour based products is one of your major setbacks. 6) u should not fear animal fats (in moderation of course) it helps to regulate your testosterone levels. 7) there is NO vegetarian substitute for REAL ANIMAL protein aka meat, fish eggs etc.....and lastly NO BREDA MAN DOUBLES IS NOT A HEALTHY MEAL OPTION. fun fact.....the average life span of an indian indentured worker who's diet was mostly vegetarian...roti, aloo, and you "dhal rice and bhagi" was 25 to 30......u cant just keep piling starch (complex sugar) upon starch and expect your body muscles and organs to repair. Doctors wont tell you this truth.....if they did they would be out of a job. I have been seeing too many stupid videos trying to lead people to think its either or......vegetarian or carnivore diet thats "healthier" which in fact is a bunch of BS....human beings are OMNIVORES PERIOD. meat and animal protein is for muscle repair and growth, ur NATURAL CARB SCOURCES (rice, provision, potato etc) is your body's fuel, the animal fats regulate your hormones, and fruits and veggies provide the vitamins and minerals......the key is BALANCE, and cut out all da junk food yuh does be eatin....leave that for the kids.......I issue this challenge to you Mr Lyndon Baptiste: cut out all flour products, junk snacks, soda (soft drinks) and alcohol and processed bottled "juices" for 7 days and see what happens.....u could pretty much eat everything else once its a naturally occuring food (not a processed product) i could bet money u will see results........respond or reply if you think you are brave enough to accept the challenge.
Thank you kindly for this insightful elaborate comment. I’ve noted your recommendations and on my own journey to avoid sugar, flour and alcohol. Cheers. And thanks for taking time to share your thoughts.
@@lyndonbaptiste You are most welcome Mr Baptiste. I would also like to thank you as well for your quick and timely response and acknowledgement. That doctor had me weak too, yes. Funny enough I was having a hard time figuring out how to end this video and when I met with him I was like "great success!"

I figure if I use smaller plates it might help.
Dhal spikes your sugar level. That's why you found it to be high. Good luck on your health journey.
Dhal , bhaggi in coconut milk with provision. Healthy. Drink spring water.
