giant match sticks with tuffs of green. I lived in Boulder Creek. A Friend lived on Last Chance Road. I could go the water treatment plant in Big Basin (First camp ground) and walk all the way on Last Chance road to my friends house. 2 mile walk. That two miles is not passable now! I could ride a motorcycle on it until about 20 years ago....Not now. Everything is burned. And everything looks like giant matchsticks with tuffs of green. Everyone, some 300 people, on Last Chance were burned out but I counted over 15 returns and they wont just go away... Almost none of the homes on Last Chance are legal.
Used to go to Big Basin for picnics when I was a kid growing up in San Jose. I’m so glad the park survived the wild fires.
