I evaluated both lights before purchase and went with Fenix because the throw is so much better and more useful for my purposes - it's not all about lumens. More importantly, the USB-C charging situation is far more modern and compatible with all devices I use to charge with (cell phone, pocket light, Anker battery charger, etc). Yup, the 1/4-20 means I can mount it on the handlebar of my bike for some serious night riding That sounds crazy but there are 8000 lumen bike lights that cost over $500. I would love either one. What would you need it for? Well for one you won't need a gun for home defense. Point either one of those lights in their eyes, they wont be able to see for a month.
Lmao I actually looked it up. Now I feel dumb. I’m surprised it’s being sold still. Only 2400 lumens, looks shitty, super huge and $1,300? Who on earth would buy that garbage lol
How is that Huge Olight battery only 6000 mAh? My Olight M2r has a tiny 21700 battery that is 5000 mAH. At that point you can shove at least 8 of those in that huge light. Which would be 40,000 mAh.
Different voltages, mah is only part of the equation in a battery. The X9R is 6000mah @ 14.4v (the Fenix is 12,000 @ 7.2v they are effectively the same capacity). The olight 21700 is 5,000mah @ 3.6v, so if you want to compare the 21700 would be equivalent to 1,250 mah if stepped up to 14.4v
