Marcelito was born with the ability to sing in soprano, tenor and baritone ranges. He's also singing in both English and Italian, neither of them are his native language. And he's sitting down which makes a big difference. He was abandoned by his mother at age 7 and grew up on the streets. He cleaned chicken cages for money and would sing when he was frightened. Marcelito is completely self-taught and never had any training. He has been touring since 2022 in the U.S., Canada, and other countries. He has a big heart and a great sense of humor. He was on America's Got Talent and sadly only came in 4th, but won when he entered Phillpinos Got Talent.
Another artist you may enjoy is Angelina Jordan, she won Norways got Talent at the age of 7 singing Jazz songs. She also does a lot of covers but puts her style to the songs. She has always, Evan back then done the arraignments to the songs she sings. She is now 18 and also writes her own songs.
In the late 90s and early 2000,, there's a tv contest which they call "doble Kara" (double face or two faces) in which a male or female contestant must sing both the male and female voice,,, many Filipinos stretch their voices to enter the contest and those are the groundworks for most Filipinos who would be eager to sing both the male and female version of a song.. marcelito perfected the challenge so with some other Filipino singers

The reason is because in Hollywood, there are so many Filipino actors and actresses, who have made it big. Just to mention a few, there’s Lou Diamond Phillips,(Golden Globe nominee) Lea Salonga, (Disney Icon) Darren Criss (Emmy Award for lead role in “The Assasination of Gianni Versace”) Steven R. McQueen “The Vampire Diaries”, (grandson of Hollywood Icons Steve McQueen and Filipina actress Neil Adams), Dave Bautista as “Drax the Destroyer” in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Vanessa Hudgens of “High School Musical” series, Hailee Steinfeld( Marvel Studios, “Hawkeye”), Nico Santos(2021 HCA award for Best Supporting Actor in a Broadcast Network or Cable Series, Comedy). We used to watch telemundo and movies in Spanish because I was the only one among my siblings that learned to speak Spanish with a measure of fluency (sad considering we spent almost all holidays and vacations in Guanajuato with my grandparents but oh well)... So we had that too. But he passed in 2019 (no te olvidare, papi). But I also have 2 daughters with whom I share a love of music and the arts. So many great undiscovered artists there.
Always a surprise. After seeing this video, Ellen Degeneres had him on her show, and got him a pass to see his idol Celine Dion backstage in Vegas. He grew up on the streets of Manila, until someone convinced him to enter Philippines Got Talent, which he won. Then he later appeared on America's Got Talent. I suggest also showing Lex some other artists I had originally intended for NicknLex reactions - like Aurora, Morissette Amon, the "Melodic Marathon" and the Rachel Flowers Marathon.

Oh. How touching you with your dad. My dad and I also shared a love of music. We used to watch telemundo and movies in Spanish because I was the only one among my siblings that learned to speak Spanish with a measure of fluency (sad considering we spent almost all holidays and vacations in Guanajuato with my grandparents but oh well)... So we had that too. But he passed in 2019 (no te olvidare, papi).
But I also have 2 daughters with whom I share a love of music and the arts.

Great first reaction with your dad. Marcelito performed this on America’s got talent, and got a great reaction. Other great artists in the Philippines include Katrina Velarde ( recommend her “I Surrender with Jessica Villarubin} , Morrisette has many great videos, Budakel, Sam Mangubat, Gigi De Lane (To the fire, Piano in the dark). So many great undiscovered artists there.

Always a surprise. After seeing this video, Ellen Degeneres had him on her show, and got him a pass to see his idol Celine Dion backstage in Vegas. He grew up on the streets of Manila, until someone convinced him to enter Philippines Got Talent, which he won. Then he later appeared on America's Got Talent. I suggest also showing Lex some other artists I had originally intended for NicknLex reactions - like Aurora, Morissette Amon, the "Melodic Marathon" and the Rachel Flowers Marathon.
