I love how she kept on getting disappointed (and in my head xing kelei kept failing as a boyfriend) buuuuuut in reality he prepared this HUGE surprise and just wanted to share the moment with her alone. SO CUTE!

I like this drama but the FL drives me nuts at times; for being this brilliant surgeon, she is made to appear quite childlike and unworldly - she dresses like a middle school girl even when she's had enough notice to change her clothes and appear like a woman being courted or even when out with her BFF for lunch, she doesn't put in the effort. Her hair is always wrecked (I get that she's a surgeon and it is tied up for a reason at work, but no matter where she is or what she's doing, I've yet to see her hair down and softly framing her face other than the one scene where she was drying her hair from taking a shower), she's clueless he's twisting himself in knots and making excuses that even include other members of his SWAT team just to be anywhere close to her, night, day, rain, shine, near or far to make sure she's safe and wants for nothing. She seems to live in her own little world and anything outside a hospital setting is completely foreign to her. I can't figure out what the writers are trying to say about her - is she brilliant and clueless, is she brilliant and likes playing head games with him pretending to be clueless, is she brilliant and has never dated before so doesn't know how to act or is she brilliant and just likes making him jump through hoops so she feels special when she does nothing to make him feel special? What is it? It is clear he's shy, but once he settled on liking her, he hasn't skipped a beat providing for her, knowing where she is and what she needs, taking care of her, showing up when no one else did/would, reassuring her, trusting in her when she didn't trust herself, etc. I keep hoping she'll get it together before the drama ends by showing some substance other than her selfish dedication to being a doctor. How about being a woman, a friend, a girlfriend? Everyone is always coming to her rescue (metaphorically speaking) like her BFF, her work husband, and him, and they all jump when she calls or has a need, but we never see her doing anything for any of them unless it is in the line of duty and she can play doctor. I keep expecting more from her character because she's a stellar actress, but I'm really feeling this character arc, or lack of it, isn't doing her justice; she's so much better than this.

There is a scene in which she tells him this is her first serious relationship and then he admits that it’s his first relationship as well so clearly they’re both learning as they go.
She seems like someone who never really thought that someone else would be attracted to her so when a guy comes along and wants to hang out and does these little kindnesses she probably just sees it as someone being friendly. She doesn’t put much effort into who she dresses or wears her hair because she doesn’t have great self esteem. She almost seems shocked when she realizes that he is interested in her as a girlfriend and not just as a friend. M
Her dedication to being a doctor is the one thing that she probably felt that she could actually achieve through her own efforts and it doesn’t rely on something subjective like what other people think of her personality or face.
