For example your chances of dying increase dramatically if you choose to group with people, easily mitigated. I have over 3500 hours on the Isle since 2017, about 2000 of that being on Evrima. Like most games people play that much, it's a love hate relationship for me. On one hand, it's my most played game of all time and I have loved so much of my time on the game. On the other, most updates have been buggy, broken messes, balance is rarely anywhere near acceptable (with most updates including 3-4 playable dinos and the rest of the roster is just fluff, meals for the meta dinos), and the development team is often non-communicative or downright mean to the community. I'll probably keep playing each update, but the game is a hard sell as a game to play consistently. 6:20 is actually a great example of what makes the game great. Even when you're a big ol' Carno, the game is terrifying. You don't wanna slip up, have to regrow. Even if you do survive, will you just be a easy meal for a third party? The game makes even veteran players blood pump. The only game that's been able to get that reaction out of me. This video actually made me appreciate the good parts of the Isle more and focus less on the frustrating. It's easy to get jaded after all these years playing.
Not really tryin to flex but ive got 3000 hours in legacy and evrima 4000 hours so i have 7000 hours all up since november 2016 only because the gaming beaver had a big impacked on my isle experience
As a veteran, what would be your advice for dealing with grow times? I love both pot and the isle; but despite the fact that I massively prefer the Isle's more immersive gameplay, having to spend hours of my life growing something that can be lost in an instant means that I tend to gravitate more towards pot. How do you stay patient with the game? Especially when it comes to slow growers like Deino.

Amazing video! As an Isle vet it's always so fun getting to see new players learning the game and trying it out for the first time. I find it actually quite interesting that you chose to go with Carno, since I would argue it's a hard creature with high skill level to grow and play with it's recent nerf, esp being a new player (which is why you probably didnt see many other carnos, they nerfed it's weight completely and it's playstyle/dmg so most people see them as a free meal now, esp ceras). There's a feeling I get when a PoT player tries out The Isle and reviews it positively, a warm feeling that comes straight from the heart. it means that we don't necessarily need to compete between various games but that we can appreciate them even though our standard is different. I've had to hide too many times that I love both PoT and The Isle because others wouldn't agree. I'm so happy that Yellowtones felt like he did in the video playing The Isle, that he actually had fun and didn't fill the game with insults like other people do, I loved his sincerity, and I especially loved how nervous he felt at the end of the video fighting against the raptors, that famous nervousness that all of us feel after having grown an adult dinosaur when we know we are close to death and could lose all the work done. This video, although it may seem like simple gameplay, really touched me. Thank you Yellowtones for your sincerity while playing the isle!! AND HAPPY BDAY!!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! EEP!! I found your channel awhile back and I have to say YOUR SO GOOD! You definitely deserver the subscribers and all the love from them, and me ofc XD! GL on life and I hope you get $100 from your parents, siblings, whoever!! ^^ HAVE A GOOD DAY!!
@@yellowtones sorry yellowtones i dont think your corny i was feeling angry that day your commentary is good your one of the few good content creators good work and thanks
Really good video! Some tips if you’re willing to accept: I saw you were playing with auto alt attacks, in gameplay settings (one of the tabs) make sure to turn on “manual alt attacks” to conserve stam, this way you attack with normal bites instead of those big, locked in place bites. If you *do* want to alt attack with it manual, press the Alt key and your bite button :) Tip 2: E is the buck button, you may have found this out but it’s very strange, you can run pouncing enemies into water or solid surfaces to nock them off as well! Tip 3: diet (the three symbols above your hunger bar) helps growth time, stamina regen, night vision, scent tracking (smelling), and more. Make sure to get all 3 symbols if you can for the “perfect diet” :)
Also I think he is not aware that you can rip open a body and eat organs for different kinds of nutrients. Either hit the body couple of times or hit E 3 times to open up the carcass. Auto alt attack is very bad also.
now you're in the big leagues. love PoT, but when I tried the Isle, I knew no game would ever fill that niche as well. I am a Carno main, and it's a rough life no matter your skill at the game. remember to always eat what you can, when you can, and keep those diets balanced!
The isle is bad compared to PoT. Legacy isle was incredible, now it’s a joke. Useless devs, community virtually doesn’t exist. BOB is even better than the isle “Evirma” or whatever its stupid name is. The isle is basically a 101 on how to kill a great game.
@@bruh949i played both but the only thing i can say is combat wise path of titans wins, especially with that bs rex wins a stego all the time lol, i drop rexes in path on my stego and also when i first started legacy i never had an option for stegosaurs, unlike path, and evrima stego is reallly nice but i think i rather run and attack rather than stand in place, i got hours on both games
Bro, seriously... Phenomenal video, an absolute 10/10 Actually so impressed by this first video I've watched, I decided to subscribe immediately, you're going places dude🙌🏼💯
I have about 2000hrs in the isle now and have been around for awhile from some legacy to Evrima came too. The movement changes and tips and tricks to 1v1's and surviving. Biggest trick to surviving, staying quiet. In game chat to a minimum and when you can be loud "kiting players" to an area you want them for your pack. Its genuinely a blast. When the times are good, they are beautiful. But when they are bad, you wonder if its hell. I hope to keep seeing isle videos 🤙also after they buffed cera, it's the go to Dino. Easiest to grow and easy to punish others with the bacteria.
This is my first time watching your channel and I hope you continue this series with the isle. I only just started playing 2 days ago and I'm loving how immersive it is. If this Carno dies I hope you'll try a few different species too.
The day yellowtones made his way to The Isle is one i have been waiting for and am so pleased to have now seen. My goodness was i anxious watching that last battle 😅😅
I know this video is kinda old but eh This just popped up on my feed randomly and inspired me to olay the Isle again, I played a ton of the Legacy version, but not Evirma much since it was still the super early beta It looks so much better than it did like back in 2023 when I last played it. So thank you for reminding me of this game that I used to love so much The edit was me fixing the year
Couple of tips for you! Loved the vid. Go into settings and turn on manual alt bite. Now to bite in a direction hold alt and move camera anywhere like to the left or right or behind u and left click you will turn and bite in that direction. Normal bite without holding alt will just bite where your head is at. Makes for more precise headshots and such. You can also hold alt while holding whatever move key to walk in one direction and look around at the same time and on deino u can use it to look around while not swimming up/down. The 3 symbols are diets get all 3 to boost your growth and other boosts as well such as stam regen etc. You can open bodies to take out vitals which give you more diet for less stomach fill. Tap e multiple times on a body to tear it open tap G to grab the vitals and G to drop hold G to move body if needed. If you are big enough and can carry the body without affecting movement hold left click and shake mouse side to side to bring all vitals out at once. 3 dot diet is both lungs and stomach, S is the heart, 2 line is the Intestines. Ai does not have vitals. There are hidden mutations, saltwater mutation drink 2 full water bars of saltwater to unlock it, Jumping mutation 2 stam bars of jumping for 10% stam reduction for jumps very useful on herrera, Cannibal mutation maybe half stomach to unlock, Able to eat bones mutation also maybe half stomach worth to unlock bone fills stomach more but gives all 3 diets at once. To use a map if needed press tab in game and click on cords to copy then paste them to this website www.islemaps.com/ When you sniff and see a pointy rock looking thing that's a salt lick if you vomit go there and lick the rocks to cure the sickness. When sniffing you'll see 3 zones migration is the leaf looking zone, personal migration are the 2 eyes, sanctuary is the palm trees which has mushrooms that provide perfect diet for herbs and bees which attack bigger dinos, also bees will not attack smaller carnivores. Those are all the tips I can think of that helped me a bunch! Hope this helps!
@ Personal migration is usually closer to where you are on the map than normal migration. So someone at south plains will have a different one than someone near water access. There is actual diet for herbivores. Carnivores that are in the same area u are can also see the same personal migration and will camp around it.
Highly appreciate that you seem to have taken the time to at least learn the basics of the game before playing, rather than diving in headfirst completely clueless. Not only did it make your experience more enjoyable but it also made it more fun to watch.
Not sure if anyones mentioned it yet, but if you've been pounced, run them into a tree if your near one. Collision with the tree used to knock raptors off you. It still should if it hasn't been removed.
Very nice video ! I've played the Isle a lot, my most terrible memory is me making a nest on top of a mountain with my theri and then getting ganked by a group of 5/6 full-grown T-rex... what a sight to behold, of course I tried to run but in the end I still became their meal. I agree with people saying it's a love-hate relationship 🥲
not sure if anyone mentioned this, but when you get latched by a raptor, you can get them off by bumping them into a tree. i haven't played in ages, but i've seen footage of it happen enough time to know it's legitmate.
The Isle experience is the type of game i was looking for when downloading Path of Titan. Im the target audience for hardcore, immersive, realistic and permadeath gameplay. Unfortunately, only PoT is available on the PS5. If you ask me, its still relatively fun to play, but its definitely designed to cater to a younger audience who is not interested in gritty, meaningful, and punishing game experience. That being said, PoT currently has opened official solo permadeath server though, which was a very pleasant surprise when i randomly came back to the game recently.
Honestly I think The Isle is alot better at being a survival game than PoT, its more hardcore and the game itself has more things to offer in terms of playing, but it also has the horrible fps and theres no reason to actually play on community servers I think you should play Legacy sometime, it has got elements that are still yet to come to Evrima like apexes Also happy birthday bro
the whole "wha wha wha PoT better!!!1!1 Wha Wha Wha Isle better !1!1!1!!" is so stupid to me as these 2 games are not comparable at all. Isle is focused on a realism and realism gore experience (the game is brutal, nature is brutal too) while PoT is an arcade game. Straight up. You have save slots, global interspecies chats, quest to grow etc etc and you lose basically nothing but your honor on death. The combat systems and the overall pace and theme of the games are so vastly different that its like comparing Dave the Diver with Cyberpunk.
As someone who only plays the isle I always enjoyed POT because I never played it but I love watching you play the isle as well 😊 and imo Herrera is the most fun to play, it does get quite confusing but honestly a 3 minute YT tutorial will Tell how to play every character lol

AND HAPPY BDAY!!!!
love to see you having fun with the Isle, pls more of that!
^^ HAVE A GOOD DAY!!
thank you :))
@@yellowtones sorry yellowtones i dont think your corny i was feeling angry that day your commentary is good your one of the few good content creators good work and thanks
I've been waiting for so long to watch you try this game out!
I hope you will make more of videos of the isle :D Cant wait to see herrera on your hands :D
Really good video! Some tips if you’re willing to accept: I saw you were playing with auto alt attacks, in gameplay settings (one of the tabs) make sure to turn on “manual alt attacks” to conserve stam, this way you attack with normal bites instead of those big, locked in place bites. If you *do* want to alt attack with it manual, press the Alt key and your bite button :)
Tip 2: E is the buck button, you may have found this out but it’s very strange, you can run pouncing enemies into water or solid surfaces to nock them off as well!
YELLOW u always make me smile with youre old and new vids they are always interstening and funny/ fun to watch keep up the good work
Yellowtones on the isle brings me joy
Also happy birthday!
More isle vids! 😢
thank you player!💛
I love the video! Documentary-like but, unlike others, you have great tone of voice that made it very entertaining! HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🥳
now you're in the big leagues. love PoT, but when I tried the Isle, I knew no game would ever fill that niche as well. I am a Carno main, and it's a rough life no matter your skill at the game. remember to always eat what you can, when you can, and keep those diets balanced!
loved it! always fun to watch new players. you did great.
This was great and your energy was so entertaining haha! Happy birthday!💕
I"ve been waitin' so long for a good ol" yellowtones vid! why did yo take so long! Always the best dino vids of all time, keep up the good work!
The way you play is exactly why I prefer The Isle over PoT. Especially when they release Allosaurus my Legacy main!
The isle is bad compared to PoT. Legacy isle was incredible, now it’s a joke. Useless devs, community virtually doesn’t exist. BOB is even better than the isle “Evirma” or whatever its stupid name is. The isle is basically a 101 on how to kill a great game.
If the isle still had progression it would be better but the minute progression went (and the hypos) it marked the isles downfall
@@bruh949 Different tastes I suppose.
@@bruh949what do you mean “progression”
@@bruh949i played both but the only thing i can say is combat wise path of titans wins, especially with that bs rex wins a stego all the time lol, i drop rexes in path on my stego and also when i first started legacy i never had an option for stegosaurs, unlike path, and evrima stego is reallly nice but i think i rather run and attack rather than stand in place, i got hours on both games
BRO IVE BEEN WAITING FOR AN UPLOAD!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRO!
Bro, seriously... Phenomenal video, an absolute 10/10
Actually so impressed by this first video I've watched, I decided to subscribe immediately, you're going places dude🙌🏼💯
thank you! that means a lot :)
Happy birthday! This was a real fun watch.
Yeah a new video and happy birthday yellow have a great day amazing video man.
thank you!
No problem 😊
It's been a minute since I last watched a Yellowtones video, and it's as good as I expected.
congrats on all your success btw dude, I knew you’d go far💛
The OG, without the Isle there’d be no Beasts of Bermuda, Path of Titans etc… Shame it’s not as good as it used to be though.
Happy birthday yellowtones! Love your stuff ❤️
welcome to ceratosaurus hell...
That was suuper suuper interesting to watch! c: I enjoyed each second! Also you have a really soothing voice c:
Love seeing people's first impression of this game! Also, the chapter editing was a very nice touch :)
I found you recently and now thanks to you I fell back into love with the game hope to see some herra gameplay
Looks like you had a ton of fun with this one! Excited for more.
Good for you. I play The Isle and tried POT. I only lasted about 20 min. Guess it's not the game for me.
Hope to see you continue!
Bro your editing is amazing
Happy Birthday Yellow 🎉🎉 Love your vids! Hope you have a great (rest) day
Eyy glad to hear you enjoyed the game! Would love to see more isle content!
Really love the Isle content, it’s so cool. Love all of it, but the fear in the isle is so palpable, you feel it so much more than in PoT.
I know this video is kinda old but eh
This just popped up on my feed randomly and inspired me to olay the Isle again, I played a ton of the Legacy version, but not Evirma much since it was still the super early beta
It looks so much better than it did like back in 2023 when I last played it. So thank you for reminding me of this game that I used to love so much
The edit was me fixing the year
I have literally never seen the unstuck command work! My mind is blown
I'm actually glad to see yellowtones playing the isle, happy birthday!
thank you!
I'll probably never play these games but I love you your prehistoric adventures.
2:00 this is where u follow the zebra technique, zig-zag it babyyyyyy 😂
To use a map if needed press tab in game and click on cords to copy then paste them to this website www.islemaps.com/
When you sniff and see a pointy rock looking thing that's a salt lick if you vomit go there and lick the rocks to cure the sickness.
Hope this helps!
what’s the difference between migration and personal migration
@ Personal migration is usually closer to where you are on the map than normal migration. So someone at south plains will have a different one than someone near water access. There is actual diet for herbivores. Carnivores that are in the same area u are can also see the same personal migration and will camp around it.
Happy birthday yellowtones! Your videos are amazing
thank you!!
Fun fact if you hold e you can buck off raptors and other pouncers like troodon
Awesome video. Ironically I was trying to decide between these two as my friends are interested in both games but we haven't brought yet
first time on this channel but you did really well for your first time on the isle man! also happy birthday!
Happy birthday Yellow! 🎉🎂
thank you!!
The legend uplouded finally after 1 month
Highly appreciate that you seem to have taken the time to at least learn the basics of the game before playing, rather than diving in headfirst completely clueless. Not only did it make your experience more enjoyable but it also made it more fun to watch.
Not sure if anyones mentioned it yet, but if you've been pounced, run them into a tree if your near one. Collision with the tree used to knock raptors off you. It still should if it hasn't been removed.
Happy birthday! 🎉🎉🎉 the dig at the isles frame rate about made me spit up my drink 😂 (around 1300 hours on there before I switched to pot)
Eyyy finaly grew up and started to play The Isle :D hope we will see more videos from TI :) also happy birthday❤❤🎉
"I'd gone from clueless to fairly competent" XD
These dinosaur survival games are weirdly satisfying.
Great content dude and almost 100k subs! 👍
Imagine being that one Hera he ambushed. Just munching a fruit and having your entire spine broken out of nowhere
Played the isle some days ago! (My pc crashed immediately)
Relatable
Sorry bro but Get a better pc
@@FUNGUSLORD pc’s are hella expensive
just saw this channel for the first time and I gotta say that I need more of these videos.
Herrera is one of my favorite species to play. That dive attack is devastating
I love the soundtrack between chapters
Get that 100k already. You deserve it! 🙏
"I'm gonna starve to death at this rate"
You are now an Isle expert, congratulations :)
I love playing as a ptera. The flight controls are fun and catching fish from the water as I pass by is fun.
not sure if anyone mentioned this, but when you get latched by a raptor, you can get them off by bumping them into a tree. i haven't played in ages, but i've seen footage of it happen enough time to know it's legitmate.
That being said, PoT currently has opened official solo permadeath server though, which was a very pleasant surprise when i randomly came back to the game recently.
that slide @ 6:05 was pretty sick looking
Honestly I think The Isle is alot better at being a survival game than PoT, its more hardcore and the game itself has more things to offer in terms of playing, but it also has the horrible fps and theres no reason to actually play on community servers
I think you should play Legacy sometime, it has got elements that are still yet to come to Evrima like apexes
Also happy birthday bro
“More things to offer in terms of playing” naah I gotta stop you right there buddy old pal.
the whole "wha wha wha PoT better!!!1!1 Wha Wha Wha Isle better !1!1!1!!" is so stupid to me as these 2 games are not comparable at all.
@@theoofer478 The game just has more mechanics and the playables feel different from eachother
@ Okay how many mechanics does it have?
@@theoofer478 Alot, and alot more to come but I understand that pot has alot of mechanics now. But I think isle has more mechanics than pot atm
FINALLY ANOTHER ISLE VIDEO
As someone who only plays the isle I always enjoyed POT because I never played it but I love watching you play the isle as well 😊 and imo Herrera is the most fun to play, it does get quite confusing but honestly a 3 minute YT tutorial will Tell how to play every character lol
A Part 2???
Man you've gotten me back to the isle!
(Also happy late birthday :P)
i absolutely love your editing style even tho im not big into pot
Happy birthday Yellowstone!🥳🥳🥳
Found your channel when you had around 40k subs,it's nice seeing that you're getting close to 100k !
Also if you wanna try out a fun (non-dino) game,i'd reccomend deep rock galactic
Great episode man, i really enjoyed this video :)
man this whole video is a mood
I watched your most recent video about the deinosuchus and I thought you were a pro in this game, I just now realized you have only been playing for a month, honestly crazy
Spot on editing decision for the text mask, cool effect
The running into the rock while talking about isle gameplay XD
Fancy to see you in The Isle! Glad you are enjoying yourself! Not too bad for a first time Carnotaurus!
