I got the 2022 silverado rst 5.3, and it is still running like new. i love it . Just did my first brake pads and rotors on the truck . No issues just do my regular oil maintenance and air filter and maintenance best truck so far .
Say I have the 2023 RST METALLIC gray. think I got ripped off a little. It’s the factory RST. Don’t have the adaptive cruise control don’t have the wireless charger. Yea I’m being petty. Has the distance gap. Overall I like the darn thing.
I have the same truck 2022, pretty much no trouble with it after 12,000 km. Although wish I got a few more options but all around a good solid truck. But I would be surprised if a few issues come up with all electronics on it.
Thanks Twin Falls Chevy, and a special thanks to the LDS Church for the use of your parking lot, lol. Chevy is running a 3 year 0% special until the end of Oct on the RST's. Was looking at a new F-150, but I might just go take one of these for a spin this week, see how it goes... Good review my man.
Lol 😂 I would say definitely test drive both! The ecoboost F150’s are incredibly quick, which is fun and tempting. But I would personally rather own a Chevy. 😎
Just bought one of these in 2WD, love the multifunction tailgate, got the 5.3 & that was my preference to any kind of turbo or a diesel. So far, very pleased.
That 327 fuelie engine is 11:1 compression. --> 355 HP. (Yep! Over 1HP per Cube 😲😲😲😲😲) So: use ONLY premium fuel and the top end additive mandated in your owner's manual every 5k miles. (I use only the techron gas PLUS the ac delco...) If you're lucky enough to get the 8 speed, hang on to your seat! It's insane fast 🤣😂🤪😜 but the 10 is somewhat more mellow...😇 True Rally Sport! (don't get in trouble folks! 😉) Cheers!
I was looking at one of these trucks yesterday, so I’ve been researching it. I’ve come across many saying they had electronic issues under 10,000 miles on the truck. All manufactures have their issues. But that’s a big one. still looks like a nice truck. And it’s hard to find a V-8 in a 1500 these days
Absolutely agree that they all have their issues. I haven’t actually heard much about current electrical issues. I’ve heard more about lifter issues. I’m sure it’s a very low percentage of owners who experience these problems. But still make you wonder. Thanks for watching! 🙂
I Picked up one 3 days ago come lifted 500miles 48k all black inside out leather seats boy o boy super nice love it specially come lifted my tale gate has that extra step on it with a handlebar didn’t know till today lol nice truck
You could if you want to, but doing what the owners manual rates is also sufficient, as the engine is tuned for that specific octane. Higher octane is more safe for higher compression or performance vehicles that otherwise might risk “knock retard” where the early combustion detonation could happen. Thanks for watching! 🙂
I don’t know. I haven’t personally read anything about redesigns on the forums, I would tend to think not, especially mid generation. Especially when most of these failures likely happen after warranty ends. GM likely won’t issue a recall unless that’s there best financial bet. 🤕
Checked out one of these yesterday. Had EP discount ready in hand ready to lease one of these. Wasnt especting the 640 monthly payment after the discount was applied. These trucks arent made for the working class anymore. Couldnt imagine the payment without the discount.
Got a 2024 ltz last weekend for 56k fully loaded with a 2.9 interest extremely good truck and has all the stuff I want like the cameras and the Bose audio and can tow whatever I want
@@AutomotiveAnonymous208 thank you for your reply. One more question if I may? What’s the tow capacity with the trailering package on this truck? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE
I have a 2021 RST 6.2. Super comfortable and practical (weekly trips to the recycling center with garden stuff). I am ok with the GM seats, many reviewers say they are too hard. What is your take?
You own a sweet truck! 🙂 Honestly at 5’ 11 and like 190# I feel kinda small sitting in these ginormous cabs, but I like them. I’ve never not felt comfortable in the 6 or 7 of various configurations I’ve driven for reviews. Thanks for watching! 🙂
Usually sport mode helps a vehicles transmission keep the engine in a slightly better RPM range for making power. Usually only a few 10ths a second faster in most cases. Thanks for watching! 🙂
There’s actually quite a few. I hope this link works to Chevy’s website. It lets you see all the differences in trim levels. www.chevrolet.com/trucks/silverado/1500/build-and-price/trims/compare?selectedIndex=4 🙂
Mines on the back of a tow truck as we speak. The electronics are unreliable. Mine has been towed 2 times and 2 roadside repairs with 6900 miles on it. $44,000 mistake
Oh gosh, sorry to hear that. Do you mind sharing specific issues it’s had? You would think more issues would be worked out by this point. But GMs never been known to have trouble free electronics lol.
Yeah for sure! Seriously, what has happened to the auto industry. So many gadgets and tech that normal people can’t comfortably buy most of them. 😢🤦♂️ Thanks for watching. 🙂

Nice Truck! Just bought one! It’s fantastic!! 💪🏻🇺🇸
It was a fun one to drive, I’m glad you’re enjoying your new one! 🙂
That's a really nice truck I have a 2022 rst all black with the red line edition and I love it
For sure! These new Silverados I’ve gotten to drive are so sweet. Yours sounds like a great set up, which engine did you choose? 🙂
I choose the 5.3

is it good to use premium 93 octane gas in this?

Any issues with the bad Lifters in the 2023 and 2024 or did they finally install new designed and updated Lifters in the 2023s and up?

the yellow forward collision light came on the dashboard and i dont know how to get it off...
That’s unfortunate! Any owners know the potential reasons/solutions?
@@AutomotiveAnonymous208 my first service appointment is on march 1'st so i will have it looked at
Gotcha, we’ll if you remember to please report back. It may help other owners. 🤷♂️

Which trim level is higher? A Z71 RST or a Z71 LT TrailBoss? Thank you.
On Chevy’s website it shows that LT TB is one trim level higher than a RST! 🙂
Only difference is the 2 inch lift .
@@AutomotiveAnonymous208 thank you for your reply. One more question if I may? What’s the tow capacity with the trailering package on this truck? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE
I think it’s about 9,200. Someone correct me if I’m wrong. 😬😛

Sweet truck!
Nice review , they are all over priced by $10k. Just my opinion , maybe I’m stuck in times past
They are sweet, and I’m not disagreeing 😉. I’m hoping to get a ZR2 to review soon, we’ll see. Those big boys are 72k+ lol 🤕

I have a new 0-60 video of all 4 engine options in the 1500 model that I’ll make public soon. 😎
Honda Ridgeline would be an excellent option for you then.
