    Great tutorial - very easy to follow and understand. I am a biginner with FreePBX and this video answered a number of confusing settings I was reading about. Thank you!!!

    Thanks a million!!! Your video brought to light a very important point. Other tutorials show the context as being context=from-internal as yours shows context=from-trunk which makes all the difference if you're connecting over a trunk. We were having a big headache because of that. You have relieved us from an endless looping problem.

    • @seldomtutorials7401
      @seldomtutorials7401  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      well , for the context its from-trunk
      but for the context its from-internal
      why did we do that for internal ?
      because once the incomming call hit the server , we want it to be able to reach our internal phones # ans thats the trick here
      again its my pleasure that this video helped you .
      if you want more vidz u can subscribe , im gonna add more videos soon

    Thank you so much, I was having trouble with the one from the freepbx wiki. I ended up following your walkthrough and it worked perfectly.
    My setup is over internet with NAT routers so I port Forwarded 4569 UDP (Default IAX port) to the PBX on both routers.
    I recommend having both locations with static IP's and setting up the NAT with From Source to keep it a bit more secured.

    why context=internal from an incoming connection of one pbx and other pbx context=from trunk and yet both sections are for for incoming configurations.I thought both pbx incoming connections should have same context configuration

    @Seldom Tutorials does that work with a local freepbx and a public one ? (i have 2 servers one in a local network and one over the internet with a public ip )

    Your video has been helpful, but I have some further testing and verification to see if my configs match up how they should.
    I am trying to run two PBX servers in parallel for live testing while we try and migrate from an older FreePBX system running Asterisk 1.8 to a newer FreePBX system running FreePBX 12 or higher.
    EDIT: Both servers are currently on the same subnet and we have physical desk phones for testing. I have one manually configured to register to PBX2 instead of pulling the config from PBX1 and overriding my settings.
    Last time I worked on this (several weeks ago), the IAX2 was established successfully between the two servers and they were able to see each other.
    My goal is to have the same set of extensions exist on PBX1 and PBX2.
    For example...
    PBX1 would have extension 1000, PBX2 would also have extension 1000.
    A phone is registered to PBX2.
    A dial plan would be added (in addition to the existing dial plans) that would force any calls bound for extension 1000 over the IAX2 trunk to PBX2 and ring the phone registered to it.
    Last time I tested this, the result was either "Your call can not be completed as dialed" or line busy or something. Something isn't right, and at the moment, I suspect it could be a dial plan issue.
    EDIT: Additionally, the phone I have set up to test says No Service (could be a registration issue due to my manual configuration).
    Is what I've described even possible? To have the same extensions on each server and just selectively route the calls via an additional dial plan?
    Please correct me if I'm wrong in any of this. I am by no means an expert with Asterisk, but I've worked my way through things the past year and a half after inheriting our aging PBX from the old network admin.
    EDIT: Also, I have yet to try the softphone testing, but I will try it. I'll give Zoiper a try.

    Ahmed, thank you so much for these 2 videos, they’re both very helpful. Still, I have 3 questions :
    - what is the difference between setting up a SIP trunk and an IAX trunk ? Which one is better in your opinion, and why ?
    - is there a way to use the BLF functionality when connecting two FreePBX servers that are in two different locations (two different cities) ? It would be great to be able to monitor the status of an extension that’s on the « remote » PBX 😃
    - does the Intercom/paging functionality work between the two PBX (assuming the dialplan is set up accordingly) ?
    Thank you for your kind reply !

    hi, thank you, very informative. I set this up today using another tutorial from the freepbx forum, it worked a treat although I didn't need to set up the incoming part on either pix. ?.

    could you set this up on ViciDial as well? If so, how would the dial plan be setup for that?

    Great..! What if you pbx2 is behind a NAT, do you need to open some ports?

    • @seldomtutorials7401
      @seldomtutorials7401  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      well i cant give you direct answer untill we have full details on the topology you have .
      all what you need is you have to make sure that the 2 severs ips reach others .
      if there are servers behind routers or behind nat , then you will need to do portforwardig to the IAX port

    This video was great it showed me what i had wrong with my config (I used SIP) and was able to make a call from one pbx to the other. The one issue I am having is on pbx1 I have a conference number set up 950 and works on pbx1 and I want to call this from pbx2 and I can't get it to work. I have ext 800's and 900's on pbx1 and 100's on pbx2 and they can make calls . Any idea?

    • @seldomtutorials7401
      @seldomtutorials7401  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      did you setup the dial plan for the conference 950 ?
      i mean on pbx2 , setup outbound rule that match 950 # and it should be directed to the trunk you setup .
      did you do that ?
