take an umbrella, mylar inlay on the inside, camo net on the outside... deploy it and hide behind it next to a bush, invisible to visible spectrum, to IR [night vision] AND thermal too... call it the umbrella of invisibility...

In really close if you can obscure your eyes and face with camo face netting it helps a super lot. Animals definitely key off eyes on a face. When hunting squirrels green camo netting over my head allowed me to get right on top of them.

Interesting, this country is infested with American grey squirrels that aren't generally hunted. Eat them and I get chestnuts and beechnuts because they eat them all before they are ripe.
