Don't think the fog is a bug. As I have 100% clear by using the scout report mails. It's the same when they find a behemoth or gate if you click the notification, your camera goes there and a patch of fog is cleared around it.
ive asked the devs and CS team and they stated its a bug since somehow 50% or 40% of the go in that PvP zone can be taken out but the other half cant.
