This game is a masterpiece. Genuinely might be my favorite story in a video game. I never thought anything could surpass Xenogears for me, but this might have done it
It's preciesly because it's RPGM that allows developers to go wild and come up with anything. They aren't restricted by deadlines, investors or bosses. They do whatever they want, that's why we should support indie and especially solodev. They actually care about their projects.
The Generic Boss Theme but it holds so much passion and emotion. The sound transitions between chaotic and unbreakable will, like good vs evil. Such a great tune, truly a masterpiece!
Interestingly, the author did say he was going for a “evil” vs evil vibe. The name was supposedly implying that this is a battle between those who had crossed over the “black line” or, that to participate one must be ready to step over that bottom line.
We must have different standards because most games have very generic boss music. I.E you heard it in the last game you played. I’ve NEVER heard this apart from this game.
@@gamergeek7482 I thought i was pretty on point but if i wasn't what i meant was, "the generic boss theme" that plays on every boss in this game. It's not heard in any other games because it's not an rpgmaker asset. It's composed by Shade and a part of an album that was made for collabing with Akai Mato, for Demons Roots specifically.
This game is so good. )^: I feel like it being an eroge held it back. I don't know. It's just got so much heart poured into it but I can't share it with everyone.
I don't think the game benefited much from being a eroge imo maybe I'm just biased from that unavoidable deathpolca scene with the emperor leaving a bad taste in my mouth
Nah, without it being eroge, it wouldn't even see the lights of the day no matter how good it is. It being eroge kinda double as free advertisement, though I wish it is like black souls where you can turn off H-scenes.
While the game is great on it's own, being an eroge really made it stand out. You can see the twisted abominated value of the game you normally wouldnt be able to see even in a rated R film. There are various amounts of this in the game but one ill point out which is the Kalinka arc, that inhumane humiliating use of the gladiators on top of killing each other in the colosseum. I'm sure that arc would've been less triggering if it had chopped out the eroge.

This one is just incredible, the game is amazing.
Damn, can't believe people still make triple AAA stories using RPGM Maker.
I thought their era of making good games is over but it's not

@@CrnaStrela it definitely needs that balance. The censorship mod goes overkill, a convenient streamer mode would have been awesome..
@@CrnaStrela there does exist a skip H toggle in the options, it's at the top
