I get the privilege of being the first comment and like!
If anyone was wondering, the CSS Alabama was a ship made by the British for the Confederacy to aid their war effort. The British government wanted to recognize the CSA as a nation because they were very valuable for their cotton industry, but the government knew that it would be a widely unpopular move among the people and could possibly cause the Union to go to war with the Canadian territories.

And on June 18, 1864 the CSS Alabama engaged in battle with the Union USS Kearsage off the coast of France. In an hour of heated gunfire the Alabama sank. One of the greatest threats to Union shipping lay at the bottom of the ocean. Valiant sacrifice and gallantry by the crews on both sides, all of them Americans. May God bless their souls, those that do not return from the sea. Thy sleep is eternal. Your memory will not be forgotten.
