I'm a young pilot flying with Air France now with a Strong Catholic background.. Im a devoured Catholic who had been up till now will always love listening to the songs of our dearly Virgin Mary Mother of God and also Traditional Catholic hymns.. This song brought me to a feeling I had never had before... This song is on repeat every day and night. Thank you for posting this divine song and May God Bless You and keep you safe
Thank you for your words. It must be wearing at times to endure a faithful Catholic living in Europe. I learn about many barriers installed against Christians. In America, the Nativity scenes are being ridiculed then vanishing from the public. The media creates an inflated proclaim that the Christmas spirit is offending to non-Christians. Private homes with the Lord Jesus Christ models and crosses and the Holy Family curios are cited. Carols generally without the name of the Holy family are allowed to be sung in public. We notice the subtle changes year by year. I realize people change, however, let those whom trust in their faith enjoy it without being compelled to change their traditions.
The words of the Magnificat are a strong reminder of the Jewish roots of Christianity. If we call ourselves Christians, we need to honor that connection.
@Catholic Verity "He has come to the help of His servant Israel for He has remembered his promise of mercy, the promise He made to our fathers, to Abraham and his children for ever." - The end of Mary's Magnificat
@Catholic Verity In my own mind, I think that it's important because the Old Testament and New Testament are not separate. The Bible in its entirety is the whole story of salvation; it doesn't just come exclusively from Jesus, though that is how the great story culminates. Jesus comes to fulfill the OT.
A very touching hymn song, lyrics: My soul is filled with joy as I sing to God my savior: you have looked upon your servant, you have visited your people. Refrain And holy is your name through all generations! Everlasting is your mercy to the people you have chosen, and holy is your name. 2. I am lowly as a child, but I know from this day forward that my name will be remembered, for all will call me blessed. 3. I proclaim the pow’r of God, you do marvels for your servants; though you scatter the proud-hearted and destroy the might of princes. 4. To the hungry you give food, send the rich away empty. In your mercy you are mindful of the people you have chosen. 5. In your love you now fulfill what you promised to your people. I will praise you, Lord, my savior, everlasting is your mercy.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, for posting the lyrics. For the hearing impaired among us, I wish every single song was closed captioned. What a gift to read along with the soaring orchestration ❤
You ought to sign every one of the Psalms and you ought to sign the hymns of the Divine Office. A lot of those hyms are old hymns and not easily found even on TH-cam.
good morning! are your orchestrations available? i have a large choir and small orchestra at Saint Louis University and we would like to do this song in a couple weeks!

as I sing to God my savior:
you have looked upon your servant,
you have visited your people.
Refrain
And holy is your name

to the people you have chosen,
and holy is your name.

that my name will be remembered,
for all will call me blessed.
3. I proclaim the pow’r of God,
you do marvels for your servants;
though you scatter the proud-hearted
and destroy the might of princes.
4. To the hungry you give food,

Holy is Your Name By David Hass.
Let me praise thee not by words, but my example the catching force.
I sing Holy Is Your Name on Tues Thurs and on Sat
It says music by 'David Haas' but it sounds like the traditional tune 'Will you go lassie go?'
+Sparafucile You're right. One of many beautiful Scottish songs
