I don’t know if there’s ever been a player better than he is at those deflections from beside the net. The way he angles his stick to elevate it over goalies…he’s totally perfected it.
He can still score off the rush with that quick, accurate shot…but notice almost all his goals are scored within a few feet of the net? He’s never shied away from the rough areas of the ice, he’s never had an issue with paying the price to score. Guess that’s why the guy scored 42 goals that year and has almost 600 in his entire career. Hang around the net with your stick on the ice, good things can happen!
His hand eye is insane he can tip the puck from anywhere. He almost had one from circles this year too. Just unreal..between the legs, behind the back, across his body..just insane hand eye. To go along with that he has a great wrist shit and one timer as well..just an insane player and we haven't even mentioned his backhand
