Thank you so much for posting this video even though it didn't work out. It saved me from a disastrous purchase. This phone was *almost* the perfect phone for my needs. I've been searching for a dual sim phone with excellent signal support for Philippines and USA. The US version of the A53 seemed to be the one elusive phone that met all these requirements. I never imagined that the second sim slot was disabled. Time to keep up the search.
To see if your device is dual sim enabled check the model number on the box. The dual sim has "/DS" after the model number. In South Africa we got the dual sim model.
Will this setup work properly in Galaxy A55 5g SIM1 -> Physical SIM Hybird SIM2 slot -> Micro SD card eSIM -> One ESIM Can all these setup work together in this phone without problems ? Because i have two numbers. Also i want my micro SD card in the phone. Kindly let me know. I read somewhere if eSIM enabled, It will disable Hybrid slot (Not sure whether disabling SIM there or micro SD there or complete disable)
If I knew that I can't have 2 Sims and a memory card at the same time I wouldn't have bought this phone.i don't like limitations. What am I gonna do when my phone's memory is full?
Good evening I have bought a sd micro card. I put the card in my Samsung A53 5G 128 GB device and then it recognized it and worked normally. Then I wanted to remove the card from the device and deactivated it through the menu. and now it doesn't work for me. Do you know what I have to do to activate it? thanks
If I am not mistaken you can flash that phone with a rom from a different region that supports dual sim, like India for example. Mine did not have an option to record calls, South African version so I flashed Indian rom on it and it's working.
@@neoanderz I did not unlock my boot loader. Just used Odin and an Indian rom I downloaded from the internet and it worked. Let me look for the specific rom i used.
Hello, im just wondering, there's a "SIM manager" in my Samsung A53, under 'Settings'-'Connection' after 'Data Usage'. Does it mean my dual SIM will work?
will a non-US version (Europe) work in the US in dual-sim mode? That is, if I have my Europe SIM and US SIM in the US, will I be able to receive calls on both? Seems pretty evil that the US version disables dual sim support in the software.
This is misleading from Samsung - horrible that you really don't get a dualsim, however advertised it is. I have fortunately the A71 with dedicated full dualsim + SD-card. So 3 holes to put stuff in and i want a successor just like that. 2x phone + SDcard. I don't get it why they removed and made that impossible.
Thank you so much. I couldn't figure out how the second SIM card would fit in there in the micro SD spot.

Kinda crazy that Samsung disables this even though there's already a Sim slot. According to them it will be enabled with an update but who knows 🤷 🤔

I guess i found the answer of my question here. I have the " /DS " on my serial no.
Thank you for mentioning it.
more blessings.

@@neoanderz Hi. I didn't root my phone. Just flashed Indian original rom and its working alright.

Second sim slot of US Version doesn't work even outside of USA. I have tried with different carriers.
what if you do not unmount the SD card before removing it?
i tried with mine but i only have the sim/sd duo. is it a regional thing? (im in the us) thanks
I bought the U.S. version unlocked prerelease. I had to return it because the dual sim didn't work :(
Sad right?! It already has dual SIM card slot. 🤦♂️
My SD card won't fit. I have no idea why. So much for having extra storage.
Thanks for sharing your video.

Yes
I bought mine in bestbuy they said its an open line but I cant do dual sim at the same time. Why is this so?
Does the International Version work with 2 different SIM cards (one SIM for the Philippines and a second SIM for Thailand)?
Yup it should. Only the US version is 😑

Yup. You're good to go. Only the US version is currently crippled.
@@AsianGeekSquad Thanks very much!
