We were on this ship for Seattle, Washington to Alaska last June. Bumper cars were not charged so kids had to try them out another day. Outdoor activities were severely curtailed due to poor weather. That meant all 9,000 passengers were inside making it crowded. The rock climbing wall was only open one afternoon and take your storm weather gear. The North Star was $50 per person. I never found the scrapbooking class. On the plus side, we had a disability room and it was great to have the extra room to get around on my scooter, including an automatic door which I operated with my room key, a real help going in and going out of the cabin. We didn’t eat in any of the specialty restaurants, the food was good enough in the main buffet and the kids liked the freedom of picking and choosing what they had to eat. The drinks were served promptly by the wait staff. There were special tables reserved for disabled people in the row next to the walk way so it was easy access and a large enough to seat our whole family. We did the all day excursion in Juno which included the White Pass railroad, gold panning, and petting the puppies at the dog sled camp. I was not able to go with the family for the whale watching trip because, even though RC assured me it woukd not be a problem when I was booking shore trips by phone in advance of boarding.
It is an amazing ship, all our family went to New Zealand on the Ovation back in Dec 2018, as someone said, there is no way you can get bored on board, there are so many activities and Restaurants . And as i'm typing this, My Son with his girlfriend and some other friends are on the Ovation's heading to Noumea and some other Islands... good on them. Have fun guys...
I was on that ship last year and all I have to say is... WOW that was amazing although I had to wait 4 hours to get in once we did it was worth the wait. The cabins were nice and amazing big balcony. And many fun activities I normally was at the pool activities or playing cod 3 nuketown. I also used the bumper cars. I had the best time and recommend the ship!
I went on this ship about a month before it went into lockdown, The crew were so friendly and I miss this ship. 9 night New Zealand cruise from Sydney 14th to 23rd of January.
I was recently on ovation for the second time last week amazing once you do ovation you cant go back to something like p&o buffet was amazing not so much the dining hall but chops grille, wonderland and Izumi would have to be my top 3 specialty restaurants (9 nights to New Zealand January 2020
oh my God I so miss her... my second home - I had been 4 times in the last 2 years ... January been the last time.... Oh please God no the last... I want to come back 100 times more... She is soooo beautiful... I been in other ships but the "Ovation of the Seas" tops the cake... by far... --- thank you for showing this... you did very well ... thank you
I had watched this video a million times that is how good it is... And I must agreed in most you said but there is one thing that I need to let you know and that is that """there are humans in the excurcion planer place.... There is a board there where they tell you what time will some one be there to serve it help in any way.... I had been there several times ... For I cruised in the Ovation 11 times...thank you for the beautiful memories especially now in the lock down...😕
Awesome review. Really appreciate it. I've been looking into booking the Ovation for an Alaskan cruise once the pandemic is over, hopefully sometime late next year. Also kind of hoping that rates will be reduced quite a bit and that we can put our savings into a better package, but time will tell.
That's what I'm hoping for come 2022 for a Hawaiian cruise me and my mom are talking about doing for a family vacation. I'm hoping prices will still be reduced to entice more bookings. Hawaii is already expensive as heck, and we don't live anywhere near there (Oklahoma) so we'll have to fly to the port to even make that trip on top of everything else 💸💸💸! Alaska also sounds like a good option as well never been there neither 🙂.
I think that you did a great job on this video, and I learned alot even tho I am an experienced cruiser. Wow bands and other stuff... We are going to Hawaii in September. Did you ever talk to your cabin steward about the hardness of the beds and was their any solution? We have spent gads of money before doing specialty restaurants and spa and other stuff, and I think that this time will stick to the Windjammer and the Dining Room. We may splurge for a lunch in the noodle bar, or a set of bamboo sheets, we have all the watches and fancy stuff we ever need. We are going with an organized tour so their will be lots to do...can't wait!
im so excited to be going on a 3 night cruise with my mum and my fiance onboard this beautiful ship in november 23 :) it will be our first RCCL cruise :) we will have done two previous cruises on P&O AUS :) We actually have one in 39 days on the pacific adventure :) But really looking forward to doing the 2023 one , so super excited :)
oh you know what is the secret of the butterfly's wall ... ? I mean to make move all at the same time?... I'll tell you ... you have to touch all four corners at the very same time... (yes you'll need some one to do it with you ... but is so much fun
Thank you for your review. My husband and I are booked on the Ovation March 2020 for New Zealand. It’s great to get a look inside the ship before we sail. Gives us a good idea on what to expect. 😊
Great video, you covered everything and your narrative skills were very informative with not much talking which to me is important because a lot of these videos that people do they don’t stop talking and go into so much information that isn’t really needed you kept it short and sweet and that’s what invited me to continue watching right to the very end. I to am from Sydney and I am in the process of planning my next cruise and you have given me a very in-depth look at this particular ship and it will make my final decision a lot easier thank you so much and I look forward to watching more of your videos in the future
Fantastic review! I sell cruises but haven't seen the Ovation yet so this was very helpful and informative. Your Aria review was good too. Look forward to more!
I've liked and subscribed. I will give this tour a 9 out of 10 - it is very good. I agree with you about Princess Cruises. The meals in their main dining room are top notch.
Do I dare ask if either of you were able to go or did the virus cancel your cruise? It's September 2020 now and I've booked my cruise for next September to Hawaii. Let's hope this time next year things will be somewhat back to normal.
+Jenny Bentancort It's pretty good, although Princess tops it slightly. Have you ever been Princess Cruises.. I should have a review up soon of the Sea Princess
We were highly disappointed with the food (and dining room atmosphere) aboard our Princess Cruise as compared to our Royal Caribbean cruises, and will not be cruising with them again.
Dive into the food a little bit. What didn't you like and you mentioned other cruise lines with better food but didn't say who. I'm just curious because I've been on 7 cruises with RCCL over the years on many different classes of ships and have always thought the food was exceptional.
I thought Princess Cruises had a better dining room compared to Royal Caribbean, as the food looked and tasted better, it's overall just a more classier experience with Princess being about the same price has Royal Caribbean. The buffet and snack venues were top notch, and I never tried any specialty restaurants.
definately..ive been on 5 cruises and 3 ships from RCI and i loved the food.. Not sure i would like to go to any other ship company as ive been spoiled on royal every time
in the end RCCL is still a budget cruise line, the so food is still pretty budget. Not saying it's bad, but it's not amazing like some of the higher end cruise lines
My Wife and I boarded the Ovation 22nd Dec and Back on the 3rd Jan, from Sydney. to New Zealand. beautiful ship and staff were very friendly .food can't complain about it. My only complaint is my room 13182 balcony outside the balcony, you've got this big canopy which blocks out the Sun and the view if you want to film when you're going through Milford Sound and the bed was very uncomfortable. apart from that, our room wasn't too bad. next time I go again I'll Book 8/9 Deck
thankyou for the tour..you did a great job in talking about it..I was thinking of going on either this one or explorer of the seas..both large ships and both amazing things to do on both.. vids like this help so thankyou again
That’s the aim of these videos, to help people like you. If you have the choice, definitely pick the Ovation Of The Seas, a lot newer than the explorer.
The cruise you did in January is the one I'm doing in march 2018 and the day u left was the day I saw the Ovation day at circular quay. It's size is almost indescribable.
TravelFlow I've already decided to that and I haven't been on it yet. For the Tasmania cruise I'm doing I've booked cabin 6648 studio balcony cabin perfect for me as I'll be cruising solo, had to book it in January this year though which was a good call cause those cabins sold out fast. This past week I also booked another cruise on Ovation to New Zealand in November 2018 for 14 nights on cabin 9630. One of the studio interior rooms which I've heard can be a tight fit, but at least for me again it's a good room for cruising solo
That's cool, I've never had a chance to cruise solo before, I've heard it's very expensive because you have to pay for two people, did you have to do that?
TravelFlow in the regular cabins like yours yes. The cabins I've booked for both cruises are designed for solo cruisers and there isn't a single supplement (paying double the rate for a twin share).
the excursion desk had a few girls (5 I think) that could help you if you needed to but they are no there all day... so one have to look at the time table for the excursion desk.
How about the internet facilities? I mean the price and service availability..Lately I went to Pacific islands trip with P&O Pacific Explorer. Evrything was fine except the internet service. BTW the video is great indeed. Appreciate your great works. Thanks for sharing.
I never used the internet, but I’ve heard it’s one of the best. However, I’d highly suggest going without internet on a cruise, normally I would cringe at that suggestion, but it’s easy to do since you should not ever be bored onboard
I just got off of it, i did not use the internet on board but the prices were average, but they had big discounts on the first day. When our flight got cancelled because of the Melbourne fires they gave us 60 minutes of free internet to get on another flight, however a crew member was telling us that the crew did not get free internet. Great ship over all, staff were amazing, especially Joff Eaton our cruise director. I would recommend this to any type of traveler, it was a fun and relaxing 10 days to New Caladonia, Vanautu and New Zealand.
You can look at the menu outside of the restaurant so if you don’t like the food they have other menus at each restaurant so if you don’t want a burger then go somewhere else
When you book the cruise, you should be able to access to the cruise planner online where you can book online for free. Although on our sailing we had trouble doing this, so if the website is working properly for your sailing, you should be able to do it. If you don’t book, you can join a REALLY long line
The North Star for us was quite easy, we reserved on board with the interactive thingy and no waiting time because we chose a day when people went off to their excursions.
The North Star for us was quite easy, we reserved on board with the interactive thingy and no waiting time because we chose a day when people went off to their excursions.
Do you have any more videos... love to see them... and also how many days did you spend in the Sydney to Tasmania ? oh! and yes I do agreed with you food is not the best at all....it was very poor.... very .... Last years we went to the Pacific and the food was exceptional and the restaurants had different menus and very well served too.
I JUST LOVE YOUR VIDEOS OF THE "ROYALS" BUT I JUST TOTALLY LOVE THE MUSIC THAT YOU HAVE ON THEM... IS VERY CATCHY AND I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE THE NAME OF IT... PLEASE
We travel to NZ in 14 nights with the Ovation and it was wonderful... I guest they could better with the food.. and perhaps with the times of the shows... we had to eat and run... it was good in a way we lost all we eat and had to have more after the shows and dancing.. before going to bed... ;)
I am already booked for the Honolulu to Sydney on Ovation from Oct 1 to 20, 2019. I would like to know if this ship has a music room or any other place where a passenger can play the piano? I am an amateur classical pianist.
+Tasmania Plane Spotting Thanks for watching, I'm on the A380 RIGHT NOW, replying to you using inflight wifi, this is a really special moment for me. Great to see you back :)

I’ve done a few Princess cruises and the food was great on the Dawn Princess but it’s no longer there now and the chef was Italian so it depends on the chef that’s on the ship as we did others princess cruises and the food was very ordinary. I’ve done RC also and it always depends on who the chef is. We did celebrity solstice 2 months ago and the food was good there and lots of gluten free for me 😊 you mentioned gluten free on the ship and all ships cater for GF but some more than others how good is it on Ovation? Celebrity Solstice had lots of choices for desert where some ships only have I choice each day.
We are going on her in June to Alaska. I wonder how many times the little guys will wipe out Grandpa on the bumper cars. My daughter and I will explore the scrapbooking center. I would love to be on her for a New Zealand and/or Australia cruise next winter. Hint hint 😎
I'll answer your questions in a list :) 1. Yes you buy them at passenger services, they have a separate line off in the far corner for them at the start of the cruise. 2. There is a specialty dining package you can buy on the cruise planner before you board, use your booking id to access it. More info here: bit.ly/2eVesGz 3: And you can also prebook the specialty restaurants through the cruise planner. More info on the cruise planner: bit.ly/2wCptrT Thanks for watching and liking the video ;)
The ship seems huge, but I would assume it would accommodate a ton of people as well. Does anyone know whether they would consider the ship “crowded” or not?

It does state on the website that for alaskan cruises that fees will be placed. But at least you had a nice time on your cruise!
Nice to hear people's experiences on the ships I review, glad to see you had a good cruise in most circumstances.

I've been on this cruise and it is amazing! I actually learned how to do rollerskating and I was really good on the IFLY!
That’s great, I didn’t even attempt to ice skating, and sucked at the iFly..
Aww thats sad
@@TooTechnical Ovation of the Seas do not have ice skating rink. Only the Mariner n Voyager of the Seas.
This review has helped me make my decision for our first cruise trip! Thanks for this video!!!
You're very welcome, glad I could help!

Just made a booking for Feb 29, 2020, This ship looks amazing... This will be our 5th cruise, 4th with RCCL. Counting down the days!
Hope you enjoy :)
Same here, first time cruisers, ideal way to visit family in NZ. Look out Nana and Poppa Joe will be on their way
One of the very best cruise videos I have seen.
Thank you :)
this ship is so magical, i miss it so much.
I miss it too
I love you video - very well explain.
Thanks (:

I don’t think it’s worth it to do specialty restaurants and expensive things, there’s enough in the ship to make your cruise special on its own.
Looking forward to Crusing on this ship! 19 day cruise next September TransAtlantic. Thanks for the video!
Hope you have a great cruise!
Bryan Scott Kos Hawaii to Sydney cruise??
We cruise Hong Kong, to Australia.
Ovation of the Seas is one of my favorite cruise ships, yet I haven't been on it yet!

Thanks for the vid, going on this ship in 4 days from Sydney (flying from Melbourne) Super excited!
Have a fabulous time, very jealous as I just came off the Golden Princess, and am suffering through the post cruise blues.

how do you book the flying activity? Do you do that before you get on the cruise
You can look at the menu outside of the restaurant so if you don’t like the food they have other menus at each restaurant so if you don’t want a burger then go somewhere else
A great tip, that I always use. Thanks for watching :)
Saw this In Auckland while Going On Explorer Dream We looked so small compared to that ship
thx very informative, keep up the great vids
Thanks, definitely will try to!
When you say book for say the North Star or the Ifly and other things do you mean book and pay extra or book and it’s included

1. My other ship tours are here: th-cam.com/channels/BRJ5TGk9OT2AT8NNGYcTWg.html
2. This was a five day cruise
3. Glad someone agrees with me (:
Great video; well done!
Thanks for watching :)
I JUST LOVE YOUR VIDEOS OF THE "ROYALS" BUT I JUST TOTALLY LOVE THE MUSIC THAT YOU HAVE ON THEM... IS VERY CATCHY AND I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE THE NAME OF IT... PLEASE

'When Birds Fly' By Ultimate
We travel to NZ in 14 nights with the Ovation and it was wonderful... I guest they could better with the food.. and perhaps with the times of the shows... we had to eat and run... it was good in a way we lost all we eat and had to have more after the shows and dancing.. before going to bed... ;)
Glad you had a good cruise, really wish I could go on another one :)
Hi great review! I subscribed. Is there a 3D cinema on the ship?
The theatre plays 3D movies with glasses provided
this makes me 1000x more excited to board this cruise
I am already booked for the Honolulu to Sydney on Ovation from Oct 1 to 20, 2019. I would like to know if this ship has a music room or any other place where a passenger can play the piano? I am an amateur classical pianist.
I honestly can’t remember.. I’m sure you could use one of the many pianos around the ship though
Awesome video and review
+svdfxd Thanks!

TravelFlow I have been on an Emirates A380, it's pretty awesome
+fabforces Yeah, they are
Thank you for your video awesome
Thank you for your awesome comment :)
We did celebrity solstice 2 months ago and
the food was good there and lots of gluten free for me 😊
you mentioned gluten free on the ship and all ships cater for GF but some more than others how good is it on Ovation? Celebrity Solstice had lots of choices for desert where some ships only have I choice
each day.
I believe the gluten free options on this ship were quite better than other ships.
Thank you

Hi there you said the beds were very hard …but are they comfy?
I just played a ton of table tennis there.
That would've been fun!
Great vid , is there a night time dance /night club on the ship?
Also is currency on board in Australian?
We are going on her in June to Alaska. I wonder how many times the little guys will wipe out Grandpa on the bumper cars. My daughter and I will explore the scrapbooking center. I would love to be on her for a New Zealand and/or Australia cruise next winter. Hint hint 😎
Hope you have a great time :)
Awesome video. Thx.
Thx
awesome!
Did you have to queue to buy the wow band? Is there a speciality dinning package? Were you able to prebook the speciality restaurants?
I'll answer your questions in a list :)
1. Yes you buy them at passenger services, they have a separate line off in the far corner for them at the start of the cruise.
2. There is a specialty dining package you can buy on the cruise planner before you board, use your booking id to access it. More info here: bit.ly/2eVesGz
3: And you can also prebook the specialty restaurants through the cruise planner. More info on the cruise planner: bit.ly/2wCptrT
Thanks for watching and liking the video ;)
I just was on this for an Alaska cruise
Nice.
Awesome review!
+JJW AntiguaAviation Thanks :-)
Does this cruise have fish type meals?a
Great video - thanks
You’re welcome ;)
Thank you for the informative video. How early does the sky ride thing and ifly open? When is the best time to avoid long lines?
I have no clue now as it has been ages. However early in the morning is always best on cruise ships.
I went in that ships it’s amazing
love it!
+lin hofmann Great :)
GREAT REVIEW :)
+Rhyse Playz Thanks, it's finally out :)
thank you, very helpful
You're welcome
The ship seems huge, but I would assume it would accommodate a ton of people as well. Does anyone know whether they would consider the ship “crowded” or not?
Jon Stoen I do. I have actually been on the Ovation and it is pretty crowded but not that bad.
Why do I like the music underneath
You have a good taste in music.
