Agreed! I’ve always wondered if they dropped him on his head when they were dragging him out the back door of the basement and leaving John in the snow. At least the expert said he would’ve been unconscious after the blow to his head. How CRUEL!! What a crime! Poor John & family, poor Karen. WTH are any of them going to get by putting her through these miserable trials for years!!?

I have a hard time feeling sympathy for OJO’s family. They have the science that says clearly Karen Read didn’t hit OJO, they chose not to believe it because she’s an easy patsy. And the mom laughing about proctors texts. Yeah, I can’t find sympathy in me. They are choosing to torment Karen Read for something she had nothing to do with. I’m thinking this behavior is typical for them, it didn’t just start. Karma…you can’t stop her.

@JessSpouting 👏 👏 👏 yes. I felt bad that they lost a child but these people are ridiculous. So hateful. I've tried to put my feelings in theirs (if this was my son) but I am not ugly inside. I could never make fun of someone's health. Proctor reminds me so much of my nasty narc ex. He was disgusting when he spoke. Obviously silver tongued good guy to the public but when the mask fell off behind closed doors. Bad at lying but sneak and thought he was untouchable like this douche nozzle. But for his family to hatefully spew at this woman. ESPECIALLY WHEN KAREN READ BAILED THAT BROTHER OUT OF A DUI BEFORE THIS!!! This whole thing is gross. They took this narrative and ran and that's their mistake. Making it into a vicious murder. Gtfo. I've seen the corruption here first hand.

I don't understand how someone can look at this evidence and think there is no room for reasonable doubt. I can answer that, they're uneducated jurors that are casting the verdict based on whether they think she did it or not. They're not using reasonable doubt standard, they're using the "well this is what I think happened" standard.

    • @iBlueClovr
      @iBlueClovr 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +21

They stick to feelings instead of evidence and reasoned arguments. They also cling to personally feeling responsible that they might be letting a guilty person go by not allowing them to be retried instead of feeling guilt for the possibility that they are destroying an innocent person's life. They don't consider both sides of the issue with due weight and they definitely do not remain impartial to give a verdict based on the evidence in the case solely
It is the prosecutors job to collect all evidence and make a strongly reasoned case before making public accusations and charges. It is their fault solely if they failed to do that and are unable to retry in the future because of it, it is not for a jury to refuse to give an acquittal verdict because they are afraid that there's a chance that they could be guilty and know that they would be unable to be tried again in the future if that turned out to be the case. If we allow the state to operate this way anybodies life could be ruined at anytime simply by accusation alone

Having followed this trial from the pre-trial hearings to the end, it is insanity for a rational-minded person to vote guilty for any of Karen's charges.
However, seeing how deep the corruption is embedded in Norfolk County and the DA this verdict doesn't surprise me.
For those jurors being on the guilty side, voting not guilty would mean admitting that a change needs to be made against the establishment and their way of life. I honestly don't think the next trial will be any different. The defense is taking on an institution that is powerful and dangerous to the core. They will protect their own at all costs.
If Johns's family can't even see after being presented scientific evidence of Karen's innocence and. they still believe she is guilty,. Despicable behavior to allow the McAlberts at closing arguments to intimidate the jurors.
I am hopeful but also very scared of what this will mean for Karen going forward. I don't think a 2nd trial will be any different as long as it's held in MA.
I am so disappointed that a state can still be so unbelievably backward and bias.

Delusional. I love that for whatever reason, Wootten isn't the judge anymore. Kraynick is taking care of business. Oh and she also thanks Kraynick in advance for listening to her etc. She didn't know yet that Cashman's withdrawal was granted AND that she is now representing herself. But i just wanted to let you know of another letter.

Great coverage of this rather odd yet interesting trial, Peter👏
    a) Odd, bcuz it should of never got to this point.. 🧐imo.
    b) Interesting bcuz after 67 witnesses over 9wks, the prosecutor didn’t come close to proving “his case theory”. If anything, he proved KR did not hit OJOK w/her big, new SUV (bigger size to give the kids more room vs OJOK’s much smaller SUV)
-there was another SUV in front of 34 Fairview, a Ford Edge.. similar to the Albert’s Ford Edges, as Brian Sr & Colin each drove one.
    *Biggest Shocker!?!
    c) a Mass State ME ruled the manner of death: Undetermined!!
So we have no homocide, yet a woman is charged w/murder to manslaughter & drunk driving.
    *ONLY IN AMERICA🧨🇺🇸🎆

The CW did prove for example:
    1. Indisputable independant scientific evidence as to data (not challenged by the defense team):
(a). At 12:25 am - JO’s GPS phone data shows him stopping at the edge of the Alberts property (doesn’t show any further movement from this point onwards and he does not go into the Alberts home).
    * JO’s niece testified that KR told her she and JO had been arguing - this would explain the 6 minutes from KR pulling up (above) to her reversing and hitting JO (below).
(b). At 12:31 am - KR’s (Lexus/Toyota) SUV data shows she slams it in to reverse going back 62 feet at approx 25 mph, and also being a classic signature of a pedestrian strike/accident of some sort. Further registered was a slight turn of the steering wheel from left to right (JO would’ve been on the rear right side of the SUV having got out of the vehicle to walk towards the Alberts drive way to go to the front/side door).
(c). At 12:32 am - JO’s health app phone data shows JO stops moving for the last time and in the exact location where he was found, also lining up with his GPS phone data. JO could not, and did not, go into the Alberts house.
    2. Indisputable CCTV footage (not challenged by the defense team):
(a). At 4:18 pm KR’s SUV left her parents house, at 5:31 pm it arrived outside the Sally Port, at 5:36 pm it was driven in to the SP and at 5:38 pm the door closes with Michael Proctor inside.
(b). At 5:40 pm, MP is seen still inside the SP with another 4/5 LE officers present.
    3. At 5:41 pm, the SERT team begin searching Fairview Road in 3 feet deep of snow finding pieces of the taillight (and other things) in different places.
    4. There was no time and opportunity for MP to break the taillight at the SP, take the pieces to Fairview Road and then plant them in different places and 3 feet deep in the snow. Not to say without a trace of him having done so, nor being seen by numerous people.
    5. After KR left JO, she called him leaving vile and hate language voicemails about him and the kids: “John I f***ing hate you”, “John I’m here with your f***ing kids”, “You are a f***ing pervert”, “I’m with your f***ing niece and nephew”, “You’re a f***ing loser” and “F**** yourself”.
    6. Also via voicemail (shortly after getting to his house) she also asked him where he was and said that “nobody” knows where he is. Yet she had allegedly just dropped him off and nothing had allegedly happened. And who are the “nobodies” she refers to when she hadn’t even called anyone at that point and why would they be concerned where JO is.
    7. KR told Kerry Roberts that JO was dead before she had even left JO’s house and he was found.
    8. KR said, “I hit him” (3 times) at the time JO was found.
    9. The above is also verified/supported by:
(a). What was put to the court during KR’s bail hearing accepting she said she hit him (3 times), it was a Motor Vehicle Accident and KR was of no criminal intent (and other things) - Stoughton District Court on 2 February 2022 (with Yannetti attorney).
(b). Her dad (via an interview) saying KR told him at the time:
    (i). “Dad I think I struck something”.
(ii). “I remember backing up and hitting something” (obviously not JO’s vehicle as she wouldn’t have used the word “something”).
(c). KR said (via an interview): “What I thought could have happened was that did I incapacitate him unwittingly, somehow, and then in his drunkenness, he passed out”.

I have a question. Pretrial, the defense attorneys attempted various things to get the case dismissed for the exact same things we watched during trial.
The judge limited a lot. If I recall right, the procedures or part of the shoddy investigation so the defense had to introduce it in a less straight forward way and let jurors conclude from it.
All evidence/discovery is supposed to be shared pre trial so no surprises.
I keep hearing attorneys say, “Now that the defense has…”
My question is, how does having it now change anything for them knowing the judge limits or doesn’t allow it because she didn’t prior to this trial?

The State is on the record now, re witness testimony & collected evidence. For them to change these facts to fit their advantage will likely result in another anti-police suspicion-filled mistrial. Also, another trial gives KR's defense team more time to come up with even more possibilities to present & investigate, re what happened that night. So, the State should seriously have a fresh perspective if they're going to continue with this. I do feel badly for the O'Keefe family though. They're caught in the middle. And I think they should steer clear of the Alberts & the McCabes in the meantime. Just in case they were involved. I think they were.
