Kids grow fast and same for their awareness. They'll start noticing the different clothes other kids wear and want them.
Yeah adults could care less about their own clothes (I know because I am one) but I remember very clearly when I was a child that I wanted new clothes every school year because of social reasons, feeling very self conscious about not having brand new and fashionable clothing like the wealthy kids did. Clothing is also a huge way to express themselves. This idea is just not it.. Also the general population needs to understand that the downfall of the environment is due to huge corporations making poor decisions while trying to make the people feel at fault.
Personally I never really had that, I just wanted a simple shirt that fit properly. It’s more about teaching the kid how other peoples opinions do not truly reflect your value as a person, more than “throw money at this kids insecurities and desires so they’ll go away”
