A24 never fails to show up!! Majority of their movies are incredible!! And I’m always so shocked and amazed when I see a little kid smash their role in the films-it’s mind-blowing to see how talented they are!
It would be hard to beat Hereditary, that movie was just downright disturbing, but it's so awesome that that's your cousin. She looks like a great actress. Hope you got to celebrate!
I loved Hereditary, equally disturbing as it was amazing - I was disappointed they got snubbed by the Oscars this year, Toni Collette deserved it! Nevertheless, super happy for Seaná, she’s a star on the rise! ✨ She lives in Ireland and I live in Canada, but I’m looking forward to seeing her again when I get the chance😊

COUGH SYRUP RIGAMAROLE The monster I think is the one exception. I mean, yes it is low budgeted, but the acting is phenomenal and the many flashbacks give us a taste of the relationships between the mother and daughter, and it’s super sad at the end of it.
I watched it. This movie was really good. A slow burn psychological suspense thriller with great cinematography. Really scary at the end. Great movie!!!
As someone that saw this movie without watching any advertising for it beforehand I gotta say it is really good, immersive, heavy well crafted atmosphere, and mysterious, I just recently out of curiosity started looking at som reviews to see what others think about the movie, and by that I had to look at the trailers and advertising for the movie, and I gotta be honest, who is the people in charge of doing the advertising and trailers for the movie ??? , they have no idea what they are doing!, they completely spoil the whole movie and kill all the mystery and charm of the film, I think there is a reason why the movie is called the hole in the ground, and it serves as a distraction for the main plot so it is surprising and not predictable, the trailer literally shows the whole movie, also the advertising showing the kid on everything completely spoils and destroys all expectation and mystery about the plot... just stop with the hollywood movie trailer noises and music is not suitable for this film, it literally kills it, if I had saw the trailers and advertising beforehand I would have never watched it.

This reminds me so much of a short comic written by Emily Carroll called The Nesting Place. It's about a girl who starts suspecting that her step mother is not who she says she is after falling down a mysterious hole in the woods nearby. The way the kid acts even reminds me of how the step mother behaves in the story. Looks interesting nonetheless.
Honestly *(In my opinion)* This Doesn’t look or feel very A24-ish, I wonder why. I hope the film’s a lot better than this Trailer. *EDIT:* Yes, I acknowledge A24 didn’t produce the film they’re only handling Distribution for the film. But even on their Distribution-only side of their films there’s still a Distinct Stamp that you can see & feel. Though I can *(Now)* See a Couple of Common A24 Elements Here (an intimate story, weird backdrop) But Still....this is...something off about this one.
Honestly whenever A24 releases a film with Direct TV the film usually turns out to be a bit more underwhelming in my opinion the what they usually put out in the cinema.

Well, I stopped watching at 0:10 because she said they'd be happy living there and that sounded great to me. Hopefully I didn't miss anything by not watching the rest of the trailer...I seriously doubt she'd say something like that and then they wouldn't be happy living there!
Yo it'd be so great if a movie had a general idea like this, only they tie in faery folklore and make it so the hole in the ground is a way into one of the courts and the replacement kid is a changeling😱
I seen this at Quebec Film Festival. It's very good. Refreshing take on the genre. 😈👹💀 I give it a 8 out of 10. Because of some of the acting is too generic.

Calling it now, the mom's dead/bonkers and she's gonna do something to the kid only to realize he's been her kid all along, i mean the scene where she's talking about history of disorders, sees the guy's arm break, then looks back, is a huge warning sign because obviously that didn't happen, maybe she's just imagining it in that moment, but I'm suspicious. Granted maybe I'm totally wrong and it's straightforward, in which case it could be interesting but has certainly been done.
Me and my gf are something of horror fanatics. Not gonna lie, we both had our doubts about this movie. However, after watching this movie, I can say, that it seriously creeped us both out.

Child replaced with a monster and drives the parent/sibling insane because they know the child isn't right but no one believes them. It's been done, hence my apprehension in how good it will be. I'll definitely check it out, though. You say you enjoyed it.
