True, people act like The Spurs and Heat weren't running those small lineups before the Dubs. Diaw was doing all that Draymond Green stuff first, not defensively of course but his versatility.
@@samribz3320 i really don't. But I am certainly disappointed at some recent inductions. I guess I'm saying/implying had he played American collegiate ball & been a standout, that may propel him in. Man, that hook pass to Danny green early in the video was filthy. Jokic’s passing ability in today’s game reminds me a lot of Boris Diaw and how well he would find his teammates out there on the court.
This Spurs team was one of the smartest teams I've ever seen. Top to bottom with high IQ talent. Duncan, Diaw, Parker, Kawhi and even crazy old Ginobili. Loved that team. Much love to San Antonio from Houston. The Great State of Texas.
one of most underated players even in nba.... i remember him in europe and international games in his prime, he didnt score 30+ or get tons of boards, but he was so overall great , both attack and defence, he is genius , sadly hard work not always seen and apreciated in nba
I've never seen a team make LeBron look lost like the Spurs did in these finals. Game 5, Heat went up big and Spurs just effortlessly took over, like it was never in doubt.

No controversy or publicly outrageous personalities. Dedicated, talented, team oriented players who we're content to play together and succeed as a unit. Not what sells papers, generally.
Amazing video, I think that these highlights sum up the real essence of Diaw and his huge ability in sharing the ball. I'm very speechless when i see some beauties like the no-look behind the back pass or the in and out for danny green from the baseline. Also i guess he's very underrated and he became, during this season, a fundamental gear in spurs' offense. He's perfect for this unselfish system! He's my favourite palyer, my idol , no doubt. Great job!!
He was in the best team he could have ever played at that moment, his style was great for this team. If you understand basketball and realize stats aren't the most important in the game, you should be able to see this guy was one of the best overall players there was at that moment.
While many think Bird & Magic are unparalleled as the smartest b ball players ever, don't forget Boris. Overall not in Larry or Magic's class, but his IQ is right there with them.
Diaw with a real serious work ethic would have been a superstar . He was crazy athletic (beat Stoudemire vertical test without even warming up and in flip flops ) his bball IQ and creativity is also top tier . Also coaches never used him like pop
the reason why rubio, cp3, and nash playstyle isn't as successful as spurs is because they rely on one man. The guy who does the passing and makes the play tends to over dribble. That leads to other team knowing what he's going to do and they double. Also, it takes unnecessary time off clock or out of other players' hands. Manu and diaw are catch and either score or pass. Notice how manu and diaw both are not the go to man in their team. They also make precise pass with good communication without taking a dribble. It helps the scrubs on their team play hot potato and lead to a pass leading to an assist. So spurs play 5 vs 1 against other team.
+scalabrine playoff 3pt 46% curry playoff 3pt 40% eh that's oversimplification. they can do that because they have the players. at this time they had Tony, Manu, Diaw, Patty and Timmy. five playmakers. five above average passers. especially for some of their positions. after this incarnation came and went so did the play style because of the players skills were different. the one thing every PG lead team forget about Magic and Zeke is Nixon/Cooper/Dumars/Vinny. for the reasons you initially mentioned. most playmakers win.
+DDPWcawLeague Yup, he used to be skinny and run in transition now he is big and plays more in the post. One thing that never changed is his IQ and skill.

Kawhi is certainly a good, effective passer. Many of his passes are kick outs from double teams, hockey assists at times. His assist totals have been steadily increasing over the yrs.
