    Installed the Centerline Stradale Exhaust system today. Weeeeeee! Agree, should have come stock. Added the BMC filter as well. This is the way the Stelvio should come from the go. Thanks for the video.

      i agree i was so worried on how this would turn out because I never put any exhaust on a 4cyl engine before but i am having so much more fun driving it now, the power it picked up is huge you can feel it in each gear and it picks up so much velocity quicker than stock. love it so far.

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      that is the plan down the road along with better tires, i lowered my QV it is not a DIY job you need to do it on a lift and you need an extra set of hands. I advise to pay a shop to do yours but let them know they need to modify one of their sockets to remove the strut assembly up front otherwise they wont be able to do it.

    Nice DIY video. I have the same Stelvio TI Sport model. You may want to look into the madness pro box. I've got a "friend" who has it in their Stelvio and wow must be a 40 - 50hp boost running strong for the last 4000 miles. With the exhaust and air intake I can see 350 - 360hp easy.

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i plan to do a full ECU tune, those boxes are a simple mod but also a good way to burn out the turbos as it is tricking the ECU to let more boost without any ignition and fuel curve changes or torque management.

    • @mikebrooks447
      @mikebrooks447 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@autofanaticcars I agree with the flash being better than a piggyback. Madness pro ties into the fuel system as well possibly helping with a/f ratios. Eurocompulsion has an awesome flash but you have to be cautious of voiding your warranty with traces of tuning the ecu opposed to a removable piggyback with no trace. I still agree with you 100%. Happy driving!

    For those looking to purchase this exhaust, Centerline unfortunately is waiting on Magnaflow to catchup on orders (covid related material shortage issues). I picked up a 2021 Stelvio Ti Sport (Vesuvio Grey on Red) this week and will be waiting patiently for the Stradale Cat-Back. IMO really the only option that seems worth the $$$... with Remus being a distant second.

    Usually you will need a tune to take advantage of any cold air intake or exhaust modifications. These are most often referred to as bolt-ons and really won't net you anything without a tune (they make the car sound louder so it 'feels faster' if you actually take it to a track you will not notice much difference. As soon as you tune the car you give the dealer the ability to deny powertrain warranty as you are running the engine harder than it was designed (which is probably fine, however, it does wear it faster and increase probability of something breaking). So for what it's worth I would only do this mod if you want a cooler sound. Most likely you will pick up little or no power (5hp maybe?) without a tune and with a tune most of your increased power will come from the more aggressive tune and not the exhaust.

    • @msatchmo
      @msatchmo 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also a less restrictive exhaust will usually help your 'top end' speed and roll racing speed, however, you may lose some power/torque "down low" i.e. when you start from a dead stop (say 0-30mph). So depending on where you want your speed you need to decide what is important to you.

  • @hg1496
    @hg1496 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    instead of silicone spray can i use wd-40? also instead of the wood jack pallets, i was thinking of using traditional jack stands along with putting my winter rim set under each wheel (laid flat, mounting surface up) for extra security along with leaving the jack pump on contact and engaged on the front (as another safe guard.)

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      WD-40 can work as well but i like silicone on rubber better, i would not work on this job unless on stands or a lift. there is no place to put jack stands on these cars.

    Is it in any way detrimental to the turbo or engine to make mods like this that increase power beyond factory (operating temperatures, long term wear, etc.)? I imagine the argument in this case would be not, because you're increasing airflow with the exhaust, but the flip side might be that the turbo is now taking in air at a faster rate than it's equipped for? Or maybe now the balance of air going through the cylinders is off and could cause issues?
    I'm not sure, not very knowledgeable about engines.

    Drove a new 340i. NO WAY. Going Alpha screw it. I have never owned an Italian car but, it's what BMW used to be.

      go for it and if you get it let me know. no comparison in driving dynamics and fun factor it is a shame how BMW has numbed the driving experience
