That's a 10 to 20-year blazer (all the items are, really). Amortize the price over time and it's beyond cheap. Even expensive clothes (my $400 wool & cashmere coat which I've had more than 20 years and looks completely on trend) considered that way has cost me less than $20 a year. I wonder what that monogrammed jacket would have cost originally. What a find!
You could get wrist cuffs to mix with short sleeves 😄

The ivory/white shirt paired with wide-leg pants = Katharine Hepburn style. The checkered jacket was great on you, pair with tall boots for a country-equestrian style.
If the wrists are short maybe wear a cute watch or bracelet so it seems extra deliberate? I work at a jewelry store so any excuse to wear jewelry. You look amazing in these looks!!
Maybe get a wide band watch.

I always struggled with sleeve length and have a shirt I love but the sleeves are an awkward length so I'm considering adding sort of a sleeve extension but with lace.
The brown blazer is perfection in a blazer form!!! 🙆🏼♀️ Have fun with your new pieces!! I visited the "Garage" some years ago but couldn't find anything.... loved it still!! Had my first ウインナコーヒー Vienna coffee in Shimokitazawa... needed to travel from Germany to Japan to find out I love it 😂😂
Wonderful pieces Emma. It's a style that's classic, timeless and super chic. I call it business casual. You can walk into any 5 star hotel or a standup izakaya in all of those and look equally at ease and at home in any location.
You look amazing in everything you bought.
I hope a shoe shopping video is next--though you can rock all of those looks in different styles of boots and boot-shoes without difficulty.

I love how you're trying out new things, finding a new side of yourself or maybe just find your way back to yourself... whatever it is, it seems to make you so happy and I find it so incredibly inspiring!
This is what I've tried to do lately, too. Trying new things I normally wouldn't, that were a bit out of my comfort zone until now, but that give me so much more confidence now, going to thrift/second hand stores, feeling comfortable in and with myself... I just love the whole vibe around it, it's hard to put that into words...

I have no idea if it's just because of the hair or maybe your frame, but it's amazing how fitting some of those outfits are on you. It's one of those things where some clothes look good or even great on people, but when they find something that defines them, it really stands out. I think I have yet to find anything like that for myself, but that might also be the downside of not having a shopping hype man.

For the brown pants, lavender socks go really nicely if you're wearing black shoes :) a burnt orange color also works well too

Love the blue coat and the blazer so much! But all your finds were so good! With the brown pants I would either wear shoes that cover your ankle like docs or high top Converse or I would deliberately wear fun socks with lower shoes to make them a featured accessory. That's just me though 😉
I've often wondered if it's even worth me trying to thrift shop in Japan as a Australian size 16? When I went to Japan last year I assumed I would not be able to buy clothes at all so focused on accessories. Loved this video from you Emma. Edit: the black coat looks fabulous on you. The fluffy lace blouse you tried looked adorable, but it seemed like the sort of thing you'd have to build an outfit around, rather than something to wear casually.
