I'm glad you mentioned Elmer Keith, I just finished reading "Hell I Was There" what a life that man lived, I grew up reading his articles in guns and ammo magazines. He gave so much to the guns and hunting community much more than most of us shooters realize.
Something is wrong in this country when, of all the things I see on the internet, Hickok 45 is censored. 🤦♂️ I apologize for my grammar I realize I stink at it. 🤷♂️
On handguns I pretty much shoot at two different ranges that we measured out to be 30 yards and 110 yards. at 30 yards I like a 6 oclock hold on say a 3" target. this puts it about on target with my sight adjustments I agree that I hate to hold over the target. What we have seen is that all handguns drop about the same at 100 yards when sighted in at like 25 yards... it is about 8 to 10 inches.... the exceptions are a really high velocity round (for handguns) with a really good BC.... That would be like my .30 carbine Ruger BH or the new 5.7 Holding above... I hate it... but at 400 yards LOL... with a Webly.... I was picking a place on the mountains behind the 4' round target. it was still low so I was using clouds. not a great explanation but I look at the target then look at something that would be two or three times above it. .....
An excellent description of your techniques. Long ago I'd thought of holding up in the notch (or down for very close targets), but did not realize Elmer Keith had used that technique.
Elmer Kieth talks of this in his books Sixguns. It' an old book written in the 1950's. Still a good read with lots of stories of using a pistol to make long shots & how to accomplish them.
I get the exact same questions with my 75 and 100 yard handgun shooting, and when I respond truthfully people seem to not understand. People act dumbfounded when I say that I either aim center or aim low. They do not understand that most of my 75 yard shots are from revolvers with subsonic ammo, and that gives some cylinder gap blast muzzle rise before the bullet exits the bore.
Good information, they don't like any kind of knowledge that makes us more self sufficient, please don't give up on us,brighter days ahead, like say, January 😁
Trying to explain to my kids Kentucky windage is like trying to tell them what a microphiche is.....or the card catalog at the library ...Lol... life is good.
Good talk, You-Tube gone ucking uts if you ask me, remember freedom has gone the world is suffering and You-Tube is a symptom of its delirium. Keep watching even if you're doing your show with potato gun and a bag of spuds.
I thought 100 yards was really far with a handgun, I never saw a video of you hitting target at 220 yards. Didn't you shoot competitions in the 80's and 90's. I have commented on your accuracy before your amazing what you do.
I will say it should be obvious but your not gonna hit a pop can at 80 yards with a 38 u could but it would be hard that’s mostly a man sized target that it doesn’t drop much

Great book.
Be careful!!! TH-cam is going to outlaw finger guns
Finger phaser pistols, too. My grandson got himself suspended for that.😵💫
The finger gun YT should be getting is the middle one😂
Thanks for the good explanation! Very enlightening.
A few years ago, I asked you about raising the front sight in the sight alignment. Finally, you answered my question. Thank you.
Hickok you are a book of knowledge sir. Love watching your videos thank you sir for passing it on.
Always a pleasure to hear your words of wisdom. Thank You Sir. THE SARGE
Great video! This is coming from one old man (66) to another! Keep it up!

Your grammar is good. No worries.
Your Grammer is above average. Take care
I appreciated this video. It’s good knowledge to know, especially for those of us who are rarely able to make it to the range.

I always loved the longer range vids, been here since really early days too

Great video! Thanks for sharing.
I will always support you 👊👊👊

Sponsored by censorship.
good way of thinking about it
@@jgunther3398 the only way.
It depends on the firearm and the type of ammo.
When you raised your hand like that TH-cam had their finger on the delete button .
Bizarre that people have to ask this question ❓ go to a longer range and find out how your gun /ammo works
Exactly
Here in Massachusetts, finger guns are legally categorized as assault weapons and banned.
🤣🤣🤣
Thank you
Good points
Sub'd, great content
yo hickok wanna hear about you. what you have done in your life what you did and so on. thanks!!
Thx

surprised that this video wasn't banned with that finger gun
So do you zero your rifles ? What distance?
Cold a** algorithm boost

If you are zeroing your sights at 25 yards, you are probably pretty close to zero at 100 yards as well.

You should be teaching America needs more teaching on gun safety
Ballsy thumbnail all things considered.
Ironically, TH-cam allows very sexually explicit videos on any subject. The moral sense of America is all but lost!
Glad you Won😅
They only censored you for being a southern republican man who believes in God and Donald Trump and had Tucker Carlson on your show
Perhaps one day we'll have a platform where we can exercise our 1st amendment rights.
😊😊😊😊😊
Ask Alec Baldwin.
Go to Rumble. Screw YT liberal views.
Called Kentucky windage! I forgot you not a vet. Never served. Hope your liberal arts degree helped you out
How much room do you need to have a spread like that of yours
