Because this makes you think of the 90s. You’re inspired by this hopefully in the same way they were. It’s rare for a band to nail a sound like this, it’s walking a pretty thin line.
This song reminds me of a girl that I really liked. And just listening to it reminds me of her skin and her presence and the way she would kiss me and make me feel. This song is literally her....Deni. And it hurts listening to it knowing that I’ll never see her again. But my love for her still remains here. In this song.
I always get emotional when listening to this song. It reminds me of a failed romance I had, we were both in a bad place during that time and it sadly never worked out in the end.
We're best of friends now, but there's always a tiny bit of sting whenever I'm with her. It reminds me of the times when we had feelings for each other, and how close it was to all working out in the end.
I'm happy for her now, though. She's in a good relationship and I know what my part is in her life now.

The pain definitely doesn't disappear completely. Even up to this day, I still tend to ponder about the what ifs and how good it could all have been if it only worked out.
The pain is there but it definitely gets manageable. Although I admit that some nights it really gets hard.
I don't claim to be emotionally mature regarding these kind of things but I do think that its valid that you find it hard to reconnect with lost loves. If you don't find happiness in it, you're better off just really letting it go.
The only reason I reconnected and really stayed with her as a friend is because I failed to be there for her at a time when she needed me the most. I can't change the past but I can most definitely do better in the future.
Anyway, I wish you the best of luck! I actually forgot that I commented this until you replied and TH-cam notified me lol
