Appreciate the review Coop! Glad you love the bar and look forward to seeing you compare it against our competition. We like our odds ;) As for the slower process of putting out new equipment. We've taken more time during our prototyping phase, testing, blind testing, quality review, and more. It is all done to ensure what ends up in everyone's hands is something that we've spent a lot of hours ensuring is amazing, and a step above anything else out there. Side note: got another pad en route to you. We always take care of our customers, and you're no different. Thanks again!
I saw it in Coop’s video, but couldn’t test my padding till today. Since I received the Bar on Friday with no padding :/. Yes the padding has more consistency in the back and left padding. The right side padding has less consistency. Would that lead for the padding to wear uneven? Are you guys taking any steps to improve the quality control and correcting the issue? @Rep Fitness
The camber ANGLE is 20 degrees. 5" camber drop titan. 6" drop elitefts. 3.5" drop bells of steel. Watch the reviews done by Garage Gym Lab. They go in depth on the balance padding everything.
Thanks for the review. The balance and the handles really sold me on this bar. For someone who hates to do squats and hate the arm placement when doing a normal squat, this is a nice get around. It feels more natural having your arms in front, better form and balance, less stress on your body. Would be nice if the bar had bearings/bushings, but I guess at the price point it's selling at it still offers very good value.
I got metal letter and number stamps from harbor freight and labeled every bar and accessory handle I have with them. Best thing I did. So much nicer than tryin to remember everything
@@bigpapipapa256 I think the general consensus is head to head the REP is built better with nicer finishes. However I believe the V2 SSB from Titan can now be had for like $100 or less, so the question is more about what you want from the bar and if you're willing to pay.
Dave Tate designed the bar purposely so the sleeves don’t rotate to make it harder on the lifter as in making their upper back work harder to fight against the bar that is trying to bring them down. Every other company (including REP) does the same for that reason. No it would not be nice if the sleeves rotate. There is no purpose and defeats the bars original designed purpose.
Funny I used a safety squat bar almost 30 years ago. Never knew they called them that. It didn’t have handles. The handles that held onto attached to the squat rack and placed to what level you wanted to squat.
Coop, maybee adding some serious wieght would show off the way the different cushions pad really behave. Also, when you talk about the "drop difference" between brands, my best guess for the 20º at titans is actually about the angle the shaft makes against the handles plane. Finally, I would suggest to add some tape on the shaft just exactly where the j cups mmet the bar, this is just for coating protection, it looks weird but it will take care of the ssb.
I'll be testing this bar before I weigh in on it but with my current shoulder injury the timing couldn't be better! REP making great innovative products as usual!
Love all your videos, wondering if you could do a video comparison on the Forces USA and the Jacked up power rack. I have been wondering which one is better. I appreciate any feedback.
Nice overview. Just ordered one and there rackable curl bar. I like what this company is doing can tell they are putting a lot of thought in there design and glad they started shipping up here in canada . Looks mean with those deep dish on there $$
Come on, GGR! Someone should tell Coop about these Greek God names. First Kabuki's Kratos and now Rep's Ares. Love the content, just had a "confused Nick Young" moment 🤣
If they had this out when I bought my Elitefts several years ago, I would've definitely chose it. I like the chrome sleeves and knurled handles. And I wouldn't have had to buy axle bar collars as I did for the Elitefts. Not to mention the free shipping too.
Good Review. I'm guessing the Pad issue has something to do with how the foam is injected during the manufacturing process...guessing the soft side is the beginning phase and the harder side is the ending phase of the process if that makes sense. Hope it gets fixed
looks like an upgrade to my ELite bar. What j cups are those? Looks like the protect the bar alot and let you move left to right if using alot of weight.
This was my first specialty bar purchase and I couldn’t be happier with it. Great finish. Love the balance with and without weights. Pad firmness is the same all the way around. And those “girthy” handles are perfect.
Coop if you had the titan SSB V2 would you swap the handles out for eye hooks and add rogue nunchucks for grips via a carabiner or would you sell the titan SSB V2 and buy this rep one?
Can you try it with JM presses? I love getting extra use out of my SSB for pressing, would be nice to see if that slight camber diff matters there. Gotta squeeze out gains where you can.
Would be great if you could review the Cerberus SSB. It has some interesting features: 225k psi tensile, 2.4m length, rotatable sleeves, knurled removable handles and all red cerakote shaft and padding, although bought mine shortly after product release and current one seems to now have a black shaft (have been told they're going to revert to red).
Saw garage gym lab also did a great comparison of this bar to others. Definitely getting mine assuming it won't be out of stock after all these reviews. Can't wait for a first look at their open trap bar once it ships.
I'd really like to see a video on the clothes y'all wear. Like I really like those shorts coop is wearing but I have no idea what they are. Do a video on clothing brands etc... I watched the video on shoes and found it really helpful. Do a video on joggers shorts shorts hats anything would be great.
I'd rather see a head to head with the bells of steel SSB over titan. Titan's new USA bar is a similar version to their 2.0. There are too many safety squats to keep track of nowadays.
Anyone with spinal issues have experience with a safety squat bar? As in does it reduce pressure on the spine. I’ve been using a linebacker squat attachment and that works great at eliminating compression on my spine. Thanks fitness peeps
I’m starting to wonder if Rogue is doing exactly what everyone else has done to them which is wait until everyone else comes out with their product and then come out with their product which will be bigger, badder, and better. So maybe the best is yet to come!
@Otherwise Healthy which means the next one will be probably around 600 thanks to "inflation". 😉 I'm of course exagerrating about it being 3X the price, but my point is that Rogue is overpriced for what it delivers
@@avinashtyagi2 i see what you’re saying and when they released the multi grip bar it was gonna be close to a grand ($965 or $985?) for the stainless options. That’s when they lost my interest. Which that is almost 3x the rep camber bar but they’re completely different so I understand them being higher BUT when you can get the elite fts AND the rep camber for less and have various thicknesses and angles I would prefer to just have both of those. I tested the SSB at their show room in PA. The arm squish felt the same on each.
