One itch I have about the Red Dead series and their fall damage system, is that the damage is based on how far you fall and how fast you are falling. This makes for moments where you might hit your toe on an object while falling at a high speed and die immediately. In GTAV and GTAIV they use a different system based on insta-kill triggers. if you are falling and hit a small object pole, edge of a roof etc. you don't die because the game doesn't trigger the insta-kill. Fall damage is very VERY little in GTAIV and GTAV, the way it works is that the game checks if you are landing loosing all or a very great portion of velocity which it will then trigger the insta-kill, therefore you don't have to deal with bopping a hand or leg on a small object and dying immediately ruining footage or a good moment. It has it's faults though, one instance I was jumping down the stairwell of death in GTAIV and I hit a railing just on the very edge of the limit to get insta-killed where I lost a good portion of speed then I proceeded to land on the railing directly below that one and died immediately due to my velocity already being pretty low. NICE 😏

I feel like falling in red dead 2 is much less enjoyable due to the lack of the moon gravity effect seen in red dead 1 since there's barely any spots in the map of red dead 1 that are very high in the air it employs the moon gravity effect to make it feel like you're really falling from a high place, unlike in red dead 2 where there's also a lack of heights
