Technically there won't be any difference whatsoever , as diesel run locomotives run via burning diesel fuel to power the traction motors on the wheels via a generator .... So except for the black fumes from the engines , all other experience shall remain the same ..!
During my life time I have seen Steam locomotives, make way for Diesel locomotives and now it is the turn of Diesel to make way for Electric locos. Sad as the events may be, but progress has to take place and there have to be changes. I personally am of the opinion that certain sectors should retain the old locos from a purely heritage point of view for younger generations to get a feel of them. The government should not look at all sections solely from profit or loss.
Great efforts by Indian Railways for 100% electrification. We request central government and Railway authorities to continue some lines with steam/coal/diesel locomotives to keep history in live. Also some trains to be operated in Narrow & Meter Gauges. In Bangladesh, Dual Gauge (Broad and Meter) tracks are maintained.. That type of system to be introduced in India also. Finally request all related authorities not to separate common journey facilities like General Coaches, Sleeper & Garib Radh AC Sleepers from Indian Common man's life in the mask of Bullet and Vande Bharat trains. Fast and Latest is required but not at the cost of common man's pocket. Please re-introduce passenger trains.. These trains are running with passenger speed (Between 30 and 35 KMPH) but with Express fare (Post Covid.)
No, diesel will never leave ER as still now Malda division still have Diesel trains and Tebagha express from Kolkata still runs in diesel and Bangladesh trains will forever run in Diesel
@@Ramboag1945 I guess they might try selling the ALCos to Bangladesh or Sri Lanka. If they can't find a buyer, maybe they'll scrap it. But they might keep the EMDs as they are newer and more powerful. They might be kept as backup in case of grid failure or maintenance of overhead lines.

I want IR to repaint the compartment colors back to blue, because the blue colors are which makes our mind mentally positive for travelling..
