I am a motovlogger….the Mic Mini is a total game changer for me. It’s diminutive size, means it slots into my helmet, just by the cheek pad. Wind noise is always going to be an issue, but the Mini copes very well, though we do still get some clipping when passing large vehicles, but apart from that, I am more than happy. The bonus, is that it connects directly on my OA4 without the need of a receiver, so no worries about water ingress during wet rides. Brilliant piece of kit for the money.
I have the DJI Mic (orig) and was super bummed that it needed the receiver with the Osmo Pocket 3. Kinda clunky setup. So I bought the DJI Mic Mini transmitter only and married it to my OP3. MAGIC! Perfect setup now, great sound and easy to conceal. For what you use an OP3 for, the Mic Mini is right.
Happily purchased a DJI Mic a few days ago. Internal recording is a must for me but can't justify the Mic 2 pricing despite its features because at the end of the day you should always do audio checks before shooting. One thing I'm curious about is the assurance of having the Safety Track feature from the Mic 1 and even the Mini, wouldn't that cover you 90% of the time?
You sold me on trying out the mini. Thanks for the video Jeven. Question: Where is this filmed? Which city? Which park? Generally speaking, not specifics .
I was so stoked for the DJI 2 after watching your incredible video. Was tremendous for a week and now back in the lab getting repaired. So bummed out and need it right now. Any other competitors that last longer or was this just a fluke?
@@JevenDovey This gives me hope and its appreciated! I watched your beginners video 200 times I bet last week, thought I was doing something wrong. I went back and forth with DGI and they were baffled as well, so they told me to send it in. Watching this review, maybe the mini was more my style, but you made that mic 2 look too damn good! Oh well, I will hopefully get her back soon. Thanks for what you do, it's always thoughtful and educational for all to see.
Is there anyway to hook up the DJI mic 2 with my iPhone or MacBook. I got it with the action 4 bundle and it works pretty decent on there I try to pair it through Bluetooth through my phone for phone recordings or video editing on my laptop too it pairs but no sound plays when I play the video. Do I need a transmitter or something I imagine it’s possible?
I use the DJI Mic 1, and since turning my back to the receiver cuts off the wireless signal even within 15 meters. I ended up doing all recordings witin the Mics internal recorder and sync it back to video, for that reason I would not get a mic without a built in recorder.
I have the original mic bundle but have a mic 2 transmitter from the pocket 3 bundle. I find it more convenient with the mic 2 pairing with the current dji products. Planning on getting the mini for moto vlogging so it can fit better inside a helmet pairing with the action 5. Would be nice if dji could give us one black and one white transmitter when buying a bundle. That way, you can switch between them depending on your outfits color. Thank you for making this video!
Nice comparison, I have owned both the MIc 1 and the Mic 2, but I don't really see a need for the MIc Mini. I really like the features of the MIc 2, especially the ability to record internal 32 bit float audio. Great video and thanks for sharing.
I was excited about the DJI Mic 2 and the Sony integration, but the weird case design is a big negative. I hope clear cases aren't going to be a thing, that's something from the 80's that should never return.
The Costco Osmo Pocket 3 Camera Bundle is such a great deal giving you just the tripod, expanded battery, cover, and even a memory card. Not including a mic (like the Creator Bundle does with a Mic 2) gives me the option to get any of these three mics you reviewed. I've decided the Mini is what works best for me.
As a DJI Mic 2 and OSMO Pocket 1 and Pocket 3 owner, I strongly disagree with the very premise of the DJI Mic Mini. I would like to point out the DJI Mic 2 is already very tiny in its build, plus its extra features, including in Mic recording and 32 bit Float is all any video production shooter or vlogger would ever need. 👍There is no further practical justification for this product's existence I can see. I am very pleased with the outstanding audio quality of the DJI Mic 2. Perhaps, if the DJI Mic Mini was on sale for a ridiculously low price, then maybe this would offer some practical value to a potential customer ?
I have the DJI Mic set and the DJI Mic 2 set. I prefer the first DJI Mic set, as there in the first few videos I did with the DJI Mic 2 I was picking up what sounded like cellular phone calls in my final audio which was really concerning it wasn't on the backup audio, just the audio from the Bluetooth. I've never had this issue with my original DJI Mics. Plus, DJI makes Rhodes look like toys aka a joke. Love my DJI Equipment!
🔥AWESOME breakdown, thank you. DJI drone connectivity with these mics. Can all 3 of these mics sync/connect with any of the DJI drones and if so, which ones?
Which system works best for you?
mic mini in helmet, mic 2 at the exhaust.
@@fightrider187 lol that's what I do

First is the Mic 2, then the Mini, and finally the Original Mic.
Agreed
am i the only one who find dji mic 1 has the best audio? the audio does not seem over processed
You're not the only one!

Please advise your Sony camera gain and mic2 settings for best results.

Jeven can you reply for the best starter settings for the original mic ?

I have the mic 2 and mic mini. Using the mini with the action 5 and mic 2 for high production work. Love both

Mic 2 is the best overall, mini is the best for value and simplicity, original is still great if you already own it
@@Jaredstthomas for sure. I love the mini for size and battery but Mic 2 is the one I still grab for all my videos
Can you use these in multiple numbers? Say like 5 transmitters into one receiver?
Unfortunate not 😒 max is 2

@@trustfoxvideo I agree. The same “issue” and limitation with all systems in their price range.

It’s smaller and designed specifically for cell phone content creators. It’s also quite affordable, considering its features and the others.
