Slack is not into pickpocketing. If he gives you 10,000 septims, he's not gonna steal it back, thats cheating - that would break the game. End of 2019, following the Combat Archer build and trying to start my own builds based on these tutorials. Great info for an amateur gamer that loves to play but has a hard time figuring out the detailed mechanics of a game. Your tutorials are fantastic and easy to follow. Thanks Slack!!
It always amazes me that, even after all these years and thousand of hours in Skyrim, new things are still happening in the game that have not happened before. Especially to Major Slack who is, arguably, the most thorough, intelligent, well thought out, consistent, informative, fun, engaging, and experienced Skyrim player on TH-cam hands down. Why Slack does not have a couple million subs is unfathomable to me.
I see so many skill leveling guides where the youtuber is using exploits like using a follower to power level archery by paying for training then trading back the spent gold. Matter of fact, That's the dominant method you find searching for skilling up; "exploits exploits cheats' It's so refreshing to find a guide- or set of guides that does NOT do that!! First found you playing fallout 4 and I'm glad I've subbed to your channel (s) Great content, exploit free and highly entertaining. Thank you for all this great content.
I usually start the game heading over to Dawnstar. I go to the wreck of the Brinehammer nor-east from there and collect all the nordic barnacles I can find heading west along the coast. During this time I use a frost spell in the ocean when I see salmon to collect the roe, since they have to die first unless collected from catching them jumping upstream in rivers. I can usually get about 60 barnacles from the coast, and a bit more near riften and the starting stones. Roe is endless in supply. After that you just buy/find garlic wherever you can in towns and houses/kitchens. Even the weakest potion from this can net you 400 with minimal speech, and it's the garlic that's the most time consuming. I think it takes somewhere around 120 potions to get you to 100 as long as you carefully perk yourself along the way without wasting them. Don't quote me on that tho, it's been a while.
Brilliant advice for finding Barnacles and getting Roe without the shout when starting out early game.. Thanks this will be very useful in my new Build.. I'll be steadily leveling *Two-Handed/Alchemy/Enchanting/Smithing* by *level 20* I should be *OP* if done correctly.. this will help big time, cheers! 🤝

Go to the Solitude Catacombs. Kill the 2 skeletons, and grab them all. They're marked with (steal), but you never get hired thugs after you for stealing them.
You know what I've realized after trying out this build? Whiterun, Solitude, and all the other cities are chock full flowers and other ingredients just waiting to be turned into potions. Why would you not want to pick them?! As Slack has shown, it is 💰 coming out of the ground.
Slack you should check out Chill Winds Depths it is south west of the Shrine of Azura. Follow the river south of the shrine until it forks to the west then follow the fork to the end. There is bear just outside the cave kill him and you are in. The cave has about half a dozen falmer but it has 20 to 40 of each kind of mushroom and if you have the green thumb perk you can come out of there set for an entire play through. I have walked out with 80 Imp Stool. Chris
If you've got the Dragonborn DLC, you can pick up Scholar's Insight from the black book in Raven Rock. It causes skill books to give you 2 skill points, instead of 1. So you'd level up Alchemy to 80 points by reading all those books.
All these years I've played since Skyrim came out and I think I either never knew or entirely forgot there's that second hanging moss hanging right there in the open! Also I found it hilarious I similarly didn't know or forgot that salmon roe even existed. Wow my brain becomes more a sieve every year.
what about grabbing a tundra cotton or two, and some dragon's tongue just outside of Arcadia's, and before selling, you make your potion of fortify barter, and get a bit better prices, since you are leveling alchemy anyways.
There are another 9 Lavender inside the Jarls chambers in Dragonsreach. Managed to get 74 and 72 Blue mountain flower and Lavender respectively by the end of the Whitewatch tower run.
I realise that this is 2 years old but I always wonder Slack why you don't collect the lavender inside the Jarl of Whiterun's private living area. I don't believe it's stealing.

Regular butterfly wings is better then lavender, just not as easy to find, also red mountain flower+torchbug thorax+lavender is a 4 or 5 effect potion that will power level you as well and white cap red mountain flower lavender too
ok, looks like somehow, there ARE differences between playing vanilla SE and playing modded LE!... i have LE, with the unofficial bugfixes and patches, so, every time i'm going in Solitude and start harvesting hanging moss in Catacombs, a guard bumps here after 15-20 seconds, trying to arrest me for thieving!... :/
Yeah, it also makes a lot of the barrels on the game count as stealing which I think is stupid. I'm back to vanilla. Well as vanilla as anniversary edition is with no mods
I restarted only yesterday and my alchemy is up sorta high already with the cheat of salmon roe, chicken egg and bear claw. It’s fun to sell too because one can get some good coin that way.
Hey major slack, I’m just starting to get back into Skyrim and I used to watch and follow your videos back in the day I even bought the Ebook. Slack what happens if you wanna get the merchant perk and still level alchemy? since the merchant leveling is buying skill training wouldnt doing this first not allow you to get the merchant perk?
Slack I have maybe another neat trick for you, when going from riverwood to whiterun stop by the honey brew meadery and loot all the barrels outside the brewing house. You get about 20-30 honey brew mead from them and can sell them for about 200 gold. You can sell half to the guy in the honey brew meadery or just sell it all later in one go. Also if you have a fence you can sell stuff to then you can head inside and loot the millions of barrels there which will be marked as steal. There must be around 1-2k gold worth of honey brew mead in there. Also that bow I told you about, the Zephyr bow. You can get it easily at level 1 and very quickly. You can run past all the falmer and you are in and out quickly. Plus a bunch of loot at the end including dwemmer scrap metal for leveling smithing. Anyway I enjoyed this video a lot and can hardly wait for the next one!
lol... who the what now? All this is so unrelated you made me forget which video you were commenting on. Like djredangel said, I already covered looting the Honningbrew Meadery in other walkthroughs (e.g., my speed run). And the Bound Bow is way better than the Zephyr. And a lot easier to get. ;)
Also I must disagree on the bound bow being better than Zephyr, I did a little bit of math: The base damage for the bound bow is 18 + 24 and has a weapon speed of 0.5 The base damage for Zephyr is 14 + 14 and has a weapon speed of 1 To calculate the draw speed in seconds: 0.4 + 1.66 / W * (1 + Q) W = weapon speed Q = quick shot perk, 1 if you have the perk, 0 if you don't have it then do Base damage * 1 / draw speed so, Bound bow: 0.4 + 1.66 / 0.5 * (1 + 0) = 3.72 seconds 42 * 1 / 3.72 = 11.3 damage per second Zephyr: 0.4 +1.66 / 1 * (1 + 0) = 2.06 28 * 1 / 2.06 = 13.6 damage per second So Zephyr puts out more damage. Next to this you don't need to wear the necromancers amulet or be a high elf to use it. Also you don't need to get the conjuration perks to upgrade it for if you don't want your build to focus in conjuration. The only downsides are that it weighs 10 whilst the bound bow weighs nothing and the bound bow makes use of daedric arrows whilst zephyr uses normal arrows, (I chose dwarven because you can get over 1000 with the dwarven scrap metal in the ruins and level smithing while you are at it) The zephyr is also quite a bit easier and faster to get. Just get a couple of stamina potion and run past all the falmer and pick up the bow. From exciting helgen keep to obtaining the bow and getting out the dungeon it takes roughly 20 - 25 minutes and the only slightly challenging part is walking on the log to get the bow and not getting shot by a falmer or chaurus. phew that took half an hour from my day, hope it was worth it. Also I am sorry about the honey brew meadery part. I must have missed that. Also sorry for the random posts, just wish to help here.
lol... You gave the Zephyr an unfair advantage by using Dwarven Arrows for your calculations. You need Dwarven Smithing to craft Dwarven arrows which means 2 perk points you need to spend to get the Zephyr up to that damage rating. Redoing your calculations using iron arrows (dmg 8) which represents the real power of the Zephyr 'out of the box', so to speak. Using your formula (which I'll just assume is correct, don't have time to doublecheck it), the real damage/sec of the Zephyr out of the box is: 14 (bow) + 8 (arrow) 22 * 1/2.06 = 10.67 damage per second Bound Bow does 11.3 damage per second *Bound Bow wins. :D* And hang on a second here.... Where are you getting 14 damage for the Zephyr bow? I just acquired the Zephyr using a zero-start Nord (Level 1, Archery 15) and the damage rating on it is _13_, not 14. Uh oh... Looks like we'll have to take that calculation back to the drawing board again... 13 (bow) + 8 (arrow) 21 * 1/2.06 = *10.2 damage per second* Bound Bow does *11.3 damage per second* Bound Bow is better by a full point of damage per second. :D
I think you understated the weapon speed of the Bound bow as well but I don't have time for any more research and number crunching. Where did you get your weapon speed numbers? And that draw speed in seconds formula?
hey slack just outta curiosity whens the remastered walkthrough for lux iron breast coming back? not that i love these videos but i am just wondering :)
Looks like alchemy business model is the most legit leveling in skyrim. Also seems safe enough to convert 100 alchemy skills to legendary then rinse & repeat.
MajorSlackAttack, it has been a few years since I've played skyrim. Do I need the benefactor perk to make my fortify enchanting and smithing potions hit max? My enchant potion is stuck at 24%.

... elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/Atronach_Forge but half of them need a sigil stone, and that's not available unless you do a quest when you reach lvl 90 of Conjuration. the other ones cost a lot for a very cheap spellbook or one time used scroll. the only useful recipes at the very start are one of the staves... the most powerful is storm atronach, and those conjuration staves are nicely expensive... you can get by Forge a book of summoning a storm atronach, but magicka cost of the spell makes the spell unuseful at low levels, so the staff is only viable choice! :) thanks to Major Slack pinpointing me to the Forge! :)))))) the Atronach is a really powerful ally, on novice or legendary difficulty, not important! :D and playing mage becomes... almost godly! :)))))))))))))))))
@@miftosaurus the only "hard" ingredient for a summon storm atronach spell is mammoth tusk but there is so many you can steal even at the college and that spell is expensive and you won't find it till you've leveled up quite a bit. Must have forgotten, I am sorry :(
Also I must disagree on the bound bow being better than Zephyr,
I did a little bit of math:
The base damage for the bound bow is 18 + 24 and has a weapon speed of 0.5
The base damage for Zephyr is 14 + 14 and has a weapon speed of 1
To calculate the draw speed in seconds:
0.4 + 1.66 / W * (1 + Q)
W = weapon speed
Q = quick shot perk, 1 if you have the perk, 0 if you don't have it
then do Base damage * 1 / draw speed
so,
Bound bow:
0.4 + 1.66 / 0.5 * (1 + 0) = 3.72 seconds
42 * 1 / 3.72 = 11.3 damage per second
Zephyr:
0.4 +1.66 / 1 * (1 + 0) = 2.06
28 * 1 / 2.06 = 13.6 damage per second
So Zephyr puts out more damage. Next to this you don't need to wear the necromancers amulet or be a high elf to use it. Also you don't need to get the conjuration perks to upgrade it for if you don't want your build to focus in conjuration.
The only downsides are that it weighs 10 whilst the bound bow weighs nothing and the bound bow makes use of daedric arrows whilst zephyr uses normal arrows, (I chose dwarven because you can get over 1000 with the dwarven scrap metal in the ruins and level smithing while you are at it)
The zephyr is also quite a bit easier and faster to get.
Using your formula (which I'll just assume is correct, don't have time to doublecheck it), the real damage/sec of the Zephyr out of the box is:
14 (bow) + 8 (arrow)
22 * 1/2.06 = 10.67 damage per second
Bound Bow does 11.3 damage per second
*Bound Bow wins. :D*
And hang on a second here....
13 (bow) + 8 (arrow)
21 * 1/2.06 = *10.2 damage per second*
Bound Bow does *11.3 damage per second*
Bound Bow is better by a full point of damage per second. :D
I think you understated the weapon speed of the Bound bow as well but I don't have time for any more research and number crunching. Where did you get your weapon speed numbers? And that draw speed in seconds formula?
hey slack just outta curiosity whens the remastered walkthrough for lux iron breast coming back? not that i love these videos but i am just wondering :)
thank you alsome i love watching players do this without cheat or exploits or glitches nice you dont have one on smithing or enchanting do you?
Me being too fast to click on: couldn't use a god boosted alchemy enchanted gloves? But when i see no exploits ohhhh i feel stupid.
thank you so much , that s really helps me
Save time and to the point. Thank you. 👍🤙
Looks like alchemy business model is the most legit leveling in skyrim. Also seems safe enough to convert 100 alchemy skills to legendary then rinse & repeat.
Honestly it's not worth legendarying alchemy. You can power level other skills much faster, alteration being probably the fastest.
MajorSlackAttack, it has been a few years since I've played skyrim. Do I need the benefactor perk to make my fortify enchanting and smithing potions hit max? My enchant potion is stuck at 24%.
I am making them without the falmar helm+circlet, with out the dlc armor and without the vampire stuff
"Do I need the benefactor perk to make my fortify enchanting and smithing potions hit max?"
Yes absolutely. And good on ya for not cheating. ;)
MajorSlackAttack Thank you
Slack,...your kill'n me!😵
major slack you still sell your book to this game i watched almost all your guides
Yes I do. Been selling it all this time. Fully compatible with Skyrim SE. :)
does it cover all the skyrim legendary edtion stuff on ps3?
Check the link in the video description. It will take you to a free sample download of the ebook which will give you a very good idea what it covers. :)
I don’t like pickpocketing either, it is cheating and that sucks.
So no pickpocketing build?
I haven’t found even ONE blue mountain flower in Whiterun. Help?
Don't worry about it, you can find many everywhere it is probably one of the most commun plant in the game, follow the roads
use ur horse to go bait the spider and bring him to the guards
Yay business videos!!
Can you do a power level video for either two-handed or heavy armor next?
Will the hanging moss respawn?
Yes. I think it's like 10 days or something.
Hut9111 indeed it is
I think it 720 hours of waiting for them to respawn
How do you get so much. He Doesn't show much of a deal for me? Only 3 - 27 for almost everything. I have 899 gold
Do i just have bad luck because I don't get as much of what he does.
it does take alot of looking around but also you can find the ingredients in other locations if you come up short
Bryon I got Heart fire. I got all the stuff growing in my house now
o yeah the green house and the garden help
Between that and the growable enchanting ingredients
What if the 2 people are dead in whiterun where would u go then
You killed them didn't you
No guards killed them but its been weeks since and I haven't seen anybody take their place
Random vampire or dragon attacks. These are well known cause of missing NPCs when you got Dragonborn & Dawnguard DLCs.
Where’d you get all the red mountain flower?
is there another build coming up?
I have never heard someone say wof before where is that from?
How do you instantly set the item counter to one at selling your stuff?
Thanks i will try it ;D
thanks for this! makes me wanna try this!
My special edition doesn't have all those blue mountain flower...
Strange I've seen other comments of people's SE edition not having the same amount of increased herbs and I don't know what to make of that.
I started this. But i have a problem. When u said now u need to have 80+ bmf, lavender, moss. Just moss is correct (cus they were no way to go) but i couldn't find that much blue flowers at the route u said. Do not flip thoose parts xD how long i need to wait till they respawn?
iirc, if you play the standard Skyrim, the floral is bare minimum. I only find Special Edition have lots of flowers to pick, and I have both version to compare.
@@kimtaewoo7772 yea :/. I need to buy special edition :).
@@ebri just encountered the same thing i think in standard you only get like 40 bmf and some of the bmf locations are rmf instead.
I'm playing legendary edition and did everything he did and got all the lavender and hanging moss, but only ended up with 28 blue mountain flower
@@jake27990 yeap. There is much less bmf in the old version. I bought the SE now i don't even pick every bmf i see. I have more than enough :)
Hey Slack, not sure if you've ever done it but how about an atronach forge recipe guide
... elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/Atronach_Forge
but half of them need a sigil stone, and that's not available unless you do a quest when you reach lvl 90 of Conjuration.
the other ones cost a lot for a very cheap spellbook or one time used scroll.
the only useful recipes at the very start are one of the staves... the most powerful is storm atronach, and those conjuration staves are nicely expensive...
you can get by Forge a book of summoning a storm atronach, but magicka cost of the spell makes the spell unuseful at low levels, so the staff is only viable choice! :)
thanks to Major Slack pinpointing me to the Forge! :))))))
the Atronach is a really powerful ally, on novice or legendary difficulty, not important! :D
and playing mage becomes... almost godly! :)))))))))))))))))
@@miftosaurus the only "hard" ingredient for a summon storm atronach spell is mammoth tusk but there is so many you can steal even at the college and that spell is expensive and you won't find it till you've leveled up quite a bit. Along with the frost you just need an ice wolf
Pelt which albeit they're dangerous but not impossible to kill one. It's nice just being able to get all the summons as soon as you get to the college. Void salts is easy find/steal so is everything else
@@miftosaurus you would definitely need the necromancer amulet + high elf and some
Levels in magika before you can summon the storm for sure lol
Blue flower red thorn
hey i just bought the E-book, but i cannot locate it on my computer. any ideas?
It should just downloade it again from the email he sent you
best fucking guide ever!
I'm not seeing any Lavender behind Blackbriar in my game. Are you using a mod?
No, but I am playing on Skyrim SE. That version added a lot of ingredients (plants), especially in Whiterun. Perhaps in Riften as well.
MajorSlackAttack I guess that's why I only had 50 mountain flowers and lavender after clearing Whiterun and Solitude :(
Over 100 hanging moss, though
What mod or hotkey do you use to sell things one at a time above 6?
On PC try the "home" key.
On console, try the L and R bumpers
Try the SKYUI Mod. In the Mod Configuration menu you can then edit the value „Quantity Menu Min. Count“. The default is 6, which means this is when batch selling is activated. Just set it to 100 and you should be good to go.
@@Uncl3Dolan You can set it to zero, instead of 100. And 1 for the opposite effect (sell or transfer everything in bulk, despite the amount). Just change from 0 to 1 and back according to your needs.
