I have to say Walmart has been killing it with everything and beating Target hands down in all departments. I’m shocked to even be saying it but it’s true.
I usually spend a ton of $ at Target. I mean a TON and cannot stay away from there or their Target Runs but recently not so much. Idk what they’re doing but their clothes is off and their home decor has been stuck in the last run they put out which was early spring. Once again Katie, you’re on the mark! Hugs! ❤
I think people are just closing their wallets right now and when they do buy, they want to buy classic staples that can be used or worn with anything. Who has the extra money these days to put down for specifically pickleball clothing even if you do play? The people in charge of okaying collections are probably higher-ups who aren’t feeling the pinch the way the average consumer is. Target should probably just focus for the time-being on their core collections, making them as versatile as possible.
Target is just one of many retailers collabing with artists and designers to display their products, attract consumers on a short term basis. Pickle Ball is trending and Prince a sports products corporation wants in on the action. Target is just setting up a cute little display to attract customers to a trending activity with a Prince logo. It's called merchandising.
I love Target but I totally agree with you. These collections are not appealing to most people. My store had lots of DVF and it was not selling. Prince is the same, it’s not selling and I do feel like it is priced a bit too high. I think they would do much better focusing on basics, graphic tees, matching sets, and my teen daughter loves the hello kitty stuff 😊
I do not like the new collections anywhere. I am older and cannot find nice looking clothes. They are wild prints, dresses too long or too short and tops too low or too high. These clothes are not made for anyone! I used to love shopping for clothes. Now I find it hard to find cool fashionable outfits. By the way, just because I am older doesnt mean that I have to dress that way!!!😀
I have to agree with you Katie Targets collection is underwhelming. The DVF collection brought back memories of the 70 's and early 8O's . My mom had so many of her Styles Heck I went to middle school in DVF
I’m pretty sure, in order to attract the designers, they have to commit to a certain sized collection (usually on the larger size). If they only commit to a small collection, it’s not worth it for the designers to bother doing it.
I love Target so much and I loved the Diane Von Furstenberg collection and bought several things. I also was excited for the Prince Collection. Pickle Ball is super popular in most places and now college campuses and hotels and resorts have added courts. I think the collection is fun and I got a few items!
I was so excited when I heard Diane von Furstenberg was doing a collection with Target. Her designs are classic and the prints are amazing and for me, wrap dresses are always in style. But...this collection. The issues were that the styles did not really suit the people who were excited for the collection. I didn't really want athleisure kinds of stuff. And the materials were terrible. Way too heavy for summer and it was clear that the stuff would pill in 2 seconds. So even though I had prepared myself for buying hundreds of dollars of stuff, I ended up buying exactly zero items.
Like others have said, very 70s. I understand the pickle ball outfits, but where I am in Florida the Temps are hovering high 80s, low 90s. Who needs more sweatjackets?
Those dollar spot toys look super cute! And the serving trays look adorable for the summer time. I don’t blame you for stocking up on soda water. I always wondered about Popoy drinks but I’m diabetic and I think it has a lot of sugar in it if I’m. Or mistaken
The last target limited collection I remember being a huge hit was with Vineland vines which I still have a couple of their home decor items. Some of those items sold out so quick I was never able to get.
Agree with you! Love those tiny camper and hotel! Too cute! I’m clothing size 2XL tshirts so that’s plus size and so it’s a bit different with me for clothes shopping and it doesn’t make me feel joyful to shop for clothes but I love home decor and get that happy vibe shopping for that!! ❤😂so I stuck with that and anywho you are on trend with everything so I know to listen to your suggestions and your advice!! That’s why I love that you go everywhere to shop for decor because you expose us to options to buy and since you see it all if YOU choose to buy it in a haul I know it’s gold because you have searched Gods green earth up and down for every place! We are coming and already in a major economic change and people will pull back massively soon. If layoffs are coming to many companies that may spell trouble for retail. Also if they push another health thing no one will be out shopping in person and everyone will rely on you to show them what’s out there. We love decor. And I think come what may the shoppers gonna shop. So good deals on things and trending items will go quick. It’s election year too. So that will be capturing peoples attention too and due to the stress people use looking at decor to de-stress!!! You are so loved Katie! ❤keep up the good work!!!! And make sure to rest with your sweet family!! They need you too 😂and I know you are an amazing wife and mom and so just know we appreciate all your hustling to get us to see new things and keeping aware of trends. More people have said to me in the last week that Walmart is where I need to shop at so I have gotten so e things there but my heart has always preferred Target. Smaller stores great options but not overwhelming. So I like them both!! Walmart is good to me to walk and get exercise when I do go!! It’s huge there❤😂
The demographic seems aimed towards Regina George's mom and her friends. Not to mention, people really don't have money to waste on something they really don't like. Don't get me wrong, people will definitely be irresponsible with money but if it's something they don't like, even irresponsible people will put their foot down and say no.
Yes, JCPenney has been dragging along for almost 2 decades now & they thought changing their logo from JCPenney, to jcp, to Penney's would actually help. 🙄
I haven’t shopped anything in target except the food section since they “ remodeled” the store because it’s NOT welcoming to me anymore, period and the food section is getting very limited anymore👎
My store didn’t even do Stoney Clover, or DVF. I did notice the tennis 🎾 and pickle ball area in our store fully stocked so I’m curious to see how that will go.
I agree I quit shopping target years ago because just didn’t like there things then they got better, and I was in the store the other didn’t buy a thing, might as well went to a discount store
The weird collections are definitely not appealing.I live up North, and the Diane F. Collection went on clearance within three weeks of it being displayed.
I live in Orlando Florida. I retired in 2018 but worked for 15 years with a name brand cosmetics company as a make up artist and travelled to different cities for events. If you live in Florida, you will know about the retirement community The Villages. Pickleball has been a very big and popular sport there for easily 20+ years. I had never heard of it before until I worked a few events there. These outfits will be great in those communities where this is played. I can’t see it being very popular in every area. The DVF is a complete disappointment. I remember her clothing line was only available at Bloomingdales when I lived in NY years ago. It’s a shame how designs, prints and fabric changes can change a line completely and not for the better.
Katie lives in Central Florida and so do I. The USTA National Campus is here in Lake Nona with 100 tennis and pickleball courts, but even then some of that collection missed the mark.
Visualize this: I live in Western North Carolina and the only people who play pickle ball is senior citizens. So, imagine those tennis dresses or crop tops on old ladies 🤦♀️😂I’m 66 so I can say for sure -no way-not happening!
I go to Walmart for clothes now! It’s horrible there! I’m 60 and I need casual, nice looking clothes. It’s so weird. I walk out. Plus Walmart I can order online too and it arrives quickly.
Ever since Target parted ways with Mossimo, all of their clothing has been flops. I still have pieces from Mossimo, great styles, well made. Sigh...But, the rest of Target I love.
I don’t know what Target is thinking. I don’t like the collections. I can’t wait to see a new McGee collection. I also noticed their clearances are not that great anymore. Kinda disappointed in them.
Katie, are we sure studio McGee is going to launch a summer collection? I thought last year they went straight into a fall collection and skipped summer. Hmm 🤔
Katie I use to love 🎯, even worked there at one time. Target hasn’t been “it” for me for a long time! 👎🏻 I truly only pop in there for Studio McGee & Magnolia anymore. 🤷🏻♀️
I think so much is going to clearance because people are broke. I mean, I need things that I can't buy so I'm not dropping any money on something that isn't a need.
My boss, a college president, and avid tennis/pickle ball player said that target was featuring this collaboration to help give some life to the prince brand which seems to be struggling. I’m not really sure this collab has helped!
First, why does every "sport" seem to think that we need to wear "special" clothing to participate? I wear regular shorts and a shirt (or tank top) to ride my bike, play tennis, play basketball, go hiking (although I do wear hiking boots for the mountain trails for stability), volleyball..... And if I did buy an "activewear" outfit, I do not want the brand name all over it - I am NOT a walking billboard. And btw, if I want the word PRINCE on something, it is in reference to the singer/musician Prince RIP.
I'm in the "older people" group mentioned by several subs. I don't play pickleball & I agree w Katie re this collection. What was Target thinking - if retro or vintage, it was a fail.
Why does so much of it look 70s? It all screams polyester double knit. I swear anything Diane VonFurstenburg clothing didn't used to look like that. Some of it reminds me of awful drapes. I think a lot of older people love pickleball, maybe their marketing demographics is just really off?
@JordanLuke-xd8ph Dale is typically a male name. And addressing a person as old anything leaves much to be desired in the realm of tact and intergenerational cooperation efforts.
So true! Kohl’s is my favorite go-to store, but they’ve changed so much inventory and how you can use coupons, I’ve all but stopped buying from them. They’ve really limited how you can use coupons (“this item is ineligible for coupon). I’d think they’d rather let customers use the coupon than push away a potential sale.
I think that would maybe do better at a sports store. I think people would like some of the everyday wear, and dressy wear. Some fun different things are fine but not like what we're seeing lately. Just this shoppers opinion!
I don't think target rolls out the collections to every store. U seem 2 have gotten a ton of merch. Don't know if they started shipping some of the things down 2 u from other stores that weren't able 2 sell everything. I wasn't overly crazy about the DVF collection bcuz I was around when her iconic wrap dress 1st debuted.
Where target went wrong was the fact they made so many jackets… like it’s mostly spring summer when people play pickleball. They should have come out with lots of dresses shorts and shirts that would sell better and better colors too!
DVF sold pretty good in Pittsburgh, but yeah the pickle ball ummmm lol ..those pillows? Really? Ughhhh but ...the palm springs collection is cute but not crazy cute imop.
Seems like most people just don’t have the money to buy new clothes every season, maybe one new thing here or there but not multiple full outfits, and if they don’t love it they just aren’t going to get it. Also agree on the food dyes, finding dye free kids medicine has been ridiculous remind me why medicine has to be colored?
Like all retailers, Target is having money issues. They need to go to clearance to move the merchandise. People have pulled back substantially in their discretionary spending. They have less and less of it. It's getting down to need vs want.
I don't think you're the pickleball demographic. Also, those paddles are usually like $85 for cute ones, so it makes sense that those look almost sold out.
Some of the dvf patterns were quite unattractive. In my area, pickleball is huge and I don’t think it is a fad that will be fading anytime soon. It is still rising in popularity, so I don’t think the collection is a bad idea. But those midriff length sweatshirts for women are a big fail. Many of the people who are into pickleball are not teenagers, they are middle age and older, who don’t care for the short length tops. Target needs to do a bit more research.
I'm confused by the styles in all of the stores this year. They seem to be all over the place like cleaning out backroom storage. It's the beginning of summer and I see thick polyester knit pants from the 70s, sheer tops, cropped tops or longsleeve tops. Very little shortsleeve or sleeveless tops. Very disappointed.
I haven’t liked most of Target’s clothing offerings for maybe 10 years - too much of trendy items and not enough staple pieces like they used to have. 😩 Even their home decor collections have been disappointing to me - not cute and too pricey.
I feel you on the blue cones. We’re 95% dye free and my kiddo is always bummed she can’t have that stuff. Absolutely no reason for any of our foods to have artificial dyes
So disappointed in the new collections this year!!! I don't know what is happening but I'm not a fan. I always enjoy your commentary, you are adorable! I'm happy to hear you want to try to comment back again☺️ I missed that but I do understand how busy you are being a Mom and everything that goes with that💖💖💖 You do an amazing job with All your videos, I realize how time consuming that is, with editing too! Anyway I will always watch your channel ☺️ You are very special and I love the community you've built 💕 Have a wonderful day 🤗💖
Hi Katie, I follow you here and on Instagram. Love your videos and following your life on IG! Thanks for the rainbow sherbet Target Good and Gather sparkling water recommendation! It's my favorite!
I agree with you! Target used to be THE place for cute styles, winter women's clothes, spring, kids, home decor. I think the kids have gotten expensive for a lot of it. I haven't seen much in womens for a couple of seasons (really hit or miss). The home decor is very poorly stocked in our area. Still love Target, but not the one-stop and you are thrilled with extra stuff kind of place
Yes! Target has been underwhelming to me lately, all the other stores have really cool 4 The of July decor and my Target hardly has anything! It's weird cause I'm usually Always in Target but not so much as of lately!
Everytime I see one of their recent limited time collections, I always wonder, who is buying this stuff?! I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks that!
Pickleball is huge here in Los Angeles! It has been for the past like 5 years. But I suspect it will die down, it's huge with the elderly people, not young people
I love pickleball. I saw the collection but didn’t like the Prince logo. I also thought the clothes were expensive. I agree they don’t have many cute clothes.
Katie your right I have been disappointed with these collections and also the Dollar Spot. What happened to Mother’s Day ? No nice picture frames, no nice journals or stationary, no Mother’s Day cards, no nice vases or decor. Pure Disappointment Target !!! Do they have where you can drop suggestions in a box at Target ? They probably wouldn’t pay attention. I hope someone high up at Target pays attention to your channel so things change !
I've been disappointed with Target for the past decade. I can't go in the women's department and find normal looking clothing. I used to cute basics, but now everything is super trendy. The decor has went downhill since the Joanna Gaines stuff came. Sorry, not sorry. Her stuff is underwhelming and overpriced.
Just my opinion, pickle ball is really popular with retirees I think the Target collection is too youthful for this age group. I'm a Gramma so I can say that 🤣🤣🤣
I have to say Walmart has been killing it with everything and beating Target hands down in all departments. I’m shocked to even be saying it but it’s true.
That pickle ball collection would of been cuter if every item didn’t have “Prince” all over it.
I used to be a lover of Target, but stopped shopping there a couple of years ago for various reasons. I can see that I'm not missing much.
girl….. that’s EXACTLY why we follow you!!!! We completely agree….. what the heck was target thinking 🤷♀️
I usually spend a ton of $ at Target. I mean a TON and cannot stay away from there or their Target Runs but recently not so much. Idk what they’re doing but their clothes is off and their home decor has been stuck in the last run they put out which was early spring. Once again Katie, you’re on the mark! Hugs! ❤
Actually Pickleball is the fastest rising sport in America for the past these years so I definitely see why Target is doing that collection!
I used to be at Target all the time but not so much lately. I haven't been finding anything exciting. Hoping that changes soon! Thanks for sharing! ❤
I hope so too! Thanks for watching 🩷
I live in a resort community. Mainly “older folks” who play tons of pickleball. They will probably sell out of everything here.
This 🙌🏻 They don’t know their demographic.
Got my granddaughter the prince crossbody and she absolutely loves it!
I think people are just closing their wallets right now and when they do buy, they want to buy classic staples that can be used or worn with anything. Since when do you or Katie believe you speak for most of anything. Never mind most people.

I will have to agree with you on the limited collections. I feel like they don't even know me lol!
... they don't know you. it's a large corporation, they dont care about your existence.
@@jazzforest1 It's a joke, did you not see the "lol"?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I’m pretty sure, in order to attract the designers, they have to commit to a certain sized collection (usually on the larger size). If they only commit to a small collection, it’s not worth it for the designers to bother doing it.
I love Target so much and I loved the Diane Von Furstenberg collection and bought several things.
I also was excited for the Prince Collection. Pickle Ball is super popular in most places and now

I loved the Prince collection. I was going to pick up a t-shirt, but they didn't have my size when I had the money.
I’m so glad you love it!
Target’s target customer doesn’t play pickleball. No pun intended. 🎯
Like others have said, very 70s. I understand the pickle ball outfits, but where I am in Florida the Temps are hovering high 80s, low 90s. Who needs more sweatjackets?
Yeah soooo many sweatshirts and heavy items
I use to love Target. I feel it went downhill from 2020 on. I wonder if they changed buyers?
FYI- Prince was a major player in the tennis racquet biz in the 70s (?).

Vineyard vines was my favorite at Target
That was such a good one!!
They need a new CEO too. He reminds me of the CEO at JCPENNEY that tried the weird pricing system no one liked. The guy wasn't there long.

So because you don't understand means nothing. You might want to learn how increasingly popular pickle ball has become.
I talked about how popular it’s become recently but the proof is in the sales, people aren’t buying it.
"Dino chicken nugget"...😂
oh no, they didn't release another beige collection. how will you survive now????
My store didn’t even do Stoney Clover, or DVF. I did notice the tennis 🎾 and pickle ball area in our store fully stocked so I’m curious to see how that will go.

They’ve really limited how you can use coupons (“this item is ineligible for coupon). I’d think they’d rather let customers use the coupon than push away a potential sale.
A lot of brand name companies make “no coupons allowed” part of the agreement when they allow their items to be sold in places like Kohl’s.
It didn’t used to be like this. I’ve been a very savvy Kohl’s shopper for years and have utilized coupons on big brands.
Crazy. Cheetah print? Really? Looks like it’s a big mistake! Agree with you Katie!
I find I have so much more luck in all departments in Walmart. Target has been very hit or miss for me.

I don't think you're the pickleball demographic. Also, those paddles are usually like $85 for cute ones, so it makes sense that those look almost sold out.
You have a beautiful glow! Are you expecting?
Rude
This is a nice way to ask a question that’s not polite to ask 🙂
Very disappointed.
something is definitely off!!!
They eliminated Knox Rose but keep expanding these short term collections. I have not liked any of the pop ups. I am shopping less and less at Target.
I’m glad someone said it out loud. Huge flop with me. I looks too dated. So 1970. So ugly.
Thanks for watching 🩷
Pickleball wear should be at Dicks sporting goods, if we even need it lol. Definitely weird taking up that much space in Target.
I haven’t liked most of Target’s clothing offerings for maybe 10 years - too much of trendy items and not enough staple pieces like they used to have. 😩 Even their home decor collections have been disappointing to me - not cute and too pricey.
I can't find Knoxx Rose anymore
I really liked that line! 😢
It's all good Katie. Those waffle cones look really good. Not a fan of these collections at all.
Thanks for being here!!
Cheap clothes. Never have anything in the store that is advertised.
Hopefully they turn things around!!!
Yes! Target has been underwhelming to me lately, all the other stores have really cool 4 The of July decor and my Target hardly has anything! It's weird cause I'm usually Always in Target but not so much as of lately!
I totally agree!
Big bright colors usually on people look terrible
Unless your a super model

Everytime I see one of their recent limited time collections, I always wonder, who is buying this stuff?! I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks that!
Hahahahaha you’re not alone!!
Pickleball is huge here in Los Angeles! It has been for the past like 5 years. But I suspect it will die down, it's huge with the elderly people, not young people
I don’t think elderly people would like this collection 😅
I love pickleball. I saw the collection but didn’t like the Prince logo. I also thought the clothes were expensive. I agree they don’t have many cute clothes.
I’m sure pickleball is super fun! Just seems so random to me!
I hope so too Carol! Thanks for watching 🩷
Attention buyers for Target: This is your midyear review… Do better. 👎
I'm a Gramma so I can say that 🤣🤣🤣
Yes, agree!!!
The collections are way too expensive or ugly. I would rather have more cheap items or cheaper adult clothes.
Junk!!

My daughter and I have never bought clothes from Target. Not even clearance. Maybe baby clothes. I think it's all ugly. Thanks for the video though.
